Welcome to watch the show, I am Meiling.
Today is the last episode of our 2023 program.
Thank you for your support.
My team and I wish you a happy new year and good health.
Today, we will talk about the upgrade of the South China Sea confrontation.
China and the Philippines are hard to give up.
The U.S. Navy has received the first unmanned submarine in the world.
The U.S. and South Korea will exercise their warhead action against Kim Jong-un.
It can be said that 2023 is a year in which China's relationship with the Philippines has turned sharply.
The two countries often confront each other on the sea around the issue of the sovereignty of the South China Sea.
Philippine Ambassador to the United States Romo Des said,
The next place where the world war broke out may be the South China Sea, not the Taiwan Strait.
The South China Sea is a strategic channel.
There are more than 3 trillion dollars worth of shipments and trade goods pass through here every year.
The Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei claim to have partial sovereignty over the South China Sea.
The Chinese Communist Party claims to have sovereignty over almost the entire South China Sea.
The media person Guo Jun said in a press conference,
The key to the South China Sea issue is the nine-stage line drawn by the Chinese Communist Party.
The symbol of this nine-stage line is not an island, but an ocean.
In the CCP's perception, all the oceans, islands and islands within this nine-stage line belong to China.
As we all know, the sovereignty of the ocean is actually only in the form of the inland sea and the sea.
The inland sea is 12 nautical miles inland,
and the sea is surrounded by land with sovereignty in most areas.
But the South China Sea is neither the inland sea nor the sea.
Because the South China Sea area is more than 2 million square kilometers,
and the islands are only a few square kilometers,
so the South China Sea cannot use the concept of the territorial sea and the inland sea.
As we all know,
although the United States owns Hawaii,
it cannot say that the entire Pacific belongs to the United States.
This is one reason.
So the nine-stage line is a key to the dispute in the South China Sea.
Not only do Southeast Asian countries not accept it,
all other countries actually do not accept it.
Especially the United States and the United Kingdom,
these maritime countries do not accept the CCP's perception.
In 2016, the Haiya International Court of Arbitration sued the Philippine government
for a ruling that is beneficial to the Philippines.
It believes that China's so-called nine-stage line
is not a valid reason for most of the sovereignty of the South China Sea.
However, the new president of the Philippines,
Duterte, chose the Xi Jinping strategy,
which is in good terms with the CCP.
The relationship between the two countries improved rapidly,
and the ruling of the International Court of Arbitration
was dismissed.
There is another dispute in the South China Sea,
that is, the sovereignty of the islands.
Relatively speaking, this dispute is relatively small.
Guo Jun said,
Who do these islands in the South China Sea belong to?
The United States actually doesn't care,
nor does it have an attitude.
But the United States absolutely does not recognize the nine-stage line,
and absolutely does not recognize anyone
has administrative and judicial jurisdiction over this area.
The United States expresses this attitude
through the right to freedom of navigation,
which is to send warships to pass through this area
that the CCP claims has sovereignty,
especially near the so-called islands of the South China Sea and the West China Sea.
In other words,
I do not recognize that this is your sovereignty.
The United States has maintained this freedom of navigation for many years.
The CCP is actually not afraid of Southeast Asian countries,
but it is afraid of the United States.
Every time a U.S. warship passes through,
the CCP will send warships or planes to drive it,
which is to make this gesture,
to express the meaning of sovereignty in me.
After President Trump took office in June 2022,
the relationship between China and Africa has undergone major changes.
At the beginning of his inauguration,
he said that he would defend the rights of the Philippines on the South China Sea issue.
On February 13 this year,
two ships from China and Africa
confronted in the waters near the island of the People's Love Island.
The Philippines accused the Chinese navy
of trying to prevent the Philippines from
sending supplies to the People's Love Island
on a broken Philippine warship,
and using military-level laser beams.
This is a short-lived misnomer of Philippine sailors.
The Philippine government called on the Chinese Communist Party to help the Philippines.
Since then, the two sides have repeatedly appeared
in confrontational situations near different disputed islands.
The Chinese Communist Party's naval ship
even began to use water cannons
to prevent the Philippines from transporting ships.
On December 3, the Philippines found that
near the island of the People's Love Island,
which is a disputed island of sovereignty,
135 Chinese Communist Party naval ships were attacked.
On December 9 and 10,
when Philippine ships were transporting supplies to the island of the People's Love Island and the People's Love Island,
several Chinese Communist Party ships were attacked by water cannons for two consecutive days.
On the 10th, a Chinese Communist Party naval ship
and even a Philippine ship collided.
The Philippine Ministry of Foreign Affairs
again called on the Chinese Communist Party to help the Philippines.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that
they would be expelled from the country.
The tension between the two sides has increased again.
So how do you understand the current relationship between China and Africa?
According to a report,
Dr. Liu Yawei, director of the China Project at the American Carter Center, said,
I think the reason why China is so fierce on the Philippine issue now
is, of course, because the Philippines has changed its leader.
The former Duterte has been replaced by Little Marx.
Perhaps some leaders before thought that
Little Marx's father and mother were old friends of the Chinese people.
He may be more friendly on the Chinese issue.
But I didn't expect that although Little Marx soon visited China after his election,
his policy towards China and Duterte is indisputable.
Second, Little Marx has made a lot of concessions to the United States,
allowing the United States to use more military bases,
especially those close to Taiwan.
This must have made China very angry.
Third, China may think that the Philippines is a hostage to the United States.
In China's view, Little Marx's bold provocation against China
must have been instigated by the United States.
Therefore, China must severely punish Little Marx
and the Philippine government led by him.
In this way, other countries will learn a lesson.
On these issues, it won't go so far with the United States.
As for the relationship between the United States and the Philippines,
the Philippines is considered an ally of the United States.
The treaty also stipulates that if there is a conflict in the Philippines,
the United States should intervene.
Guo Jun thinks that China and the Philippines are upgrading their confrontation in the South China Sea,
but it is difficult for both sides to give in.
He said,
The Philippines is an island country,
and maritime rights are very important to them.
More importantly, the Philippines has a military alliance with the United States,
and the United States has been supporting the Philippines behind the scenes.
The problem is that the South China Sea is not only disputed by the Philippines,
but also Vietnam, Malaysia, Brunei, and Indonesia.
So the CCP can't be soft and can't retreat.
The CCP thinks that if it becomes weak,
maybe other countries will follow.
Wang Yi said a day ago,
China-Philippines relations are at a crossroads,
and the Philippines should not be weak.
Xiao Max's response was,
The Philippines will not give in to pressure.
China and the Philippines each have a word or do not give in.
The South China Sea seems to be the most likely area of conflict outside the Taiwan Strait,
and even more dangerous than the Taiwan Strait.
As we all know, Boeing's specialty is making planes.
But I didn't expect that Boeing is also a master of making unmanned submarines.
On December 20, Boeing announced that
it had handed over the first Hujin super-sized unmanned submarine to the U.S. Navy.
This is not an ordinary submarine,
but a brand new underwater combat platform.
This is an important milestone in the history of the development of the U.S. unmanned submarine.
Vice President of Boeing, Steve Wins, said in a statement,
Hujin is the most advanced and most capable unmanned submarine in the world.
Hujin has launched a new era of maritime strategy.
The U.S. Navy can even integrate various weapons,
such as cruise missiles, air drones, etc. into the Hujin.
In the future, Hujin may become a brand new underwater weapon platform.
The Hujin submarine was designed and built
according to the design of the underwater drone of the Huisheng Aircraft Carrier of Boeing.
It is 24 meters long, 2.5 meters in diameter, and weighs 80 tons.
Its maximum forward depth is more than 3,300 meters,
which is far more than that of an ordinary submarine.
Now, conventional submarines can generally dive 200 to 400 meters deep.
The Hujin submarine can dive more than 3,000 meters underwater.
Basically, it can't be detected.
It can keep a secret operation and not be detected by the enemy.
Hujin's cruising speed is 3 knots.
The maximum underwater speed is 8 knots.
It is about 15 kilometers per hour.
Because satellite navigation cannot be used underwater,
in order to play a secretive role,
Hujin uses a navigation system that matches the seabed map when cruising.
When it dives into the sea,
it will correct its position through the Global Positioning System GPS.
What are the characteristics of the Hujin?
First of all, it has a high degree of autonomy.
According to the U.S. Forbes website,
Hujin can carry out pre-determined tasks
alone for several weeks or even months without support.
In cruising, it can not only bypass obstacles and collect data,
but also complete various detection tasks,
and will periodically float to the sea
and send the collected data back to the base by satellite.
Second, Hujin is very versatile.
The U.S. Navy plans to use it for various tasks,
such as underwater monitoring,
anti-submarine warfare, and electronic warfare.
The Pentagon is planning to use Hujin
to deploy smart torpedoes.
The Tornado Tornado Combat Unit
is essentially an Mk-54 torpedo.
It usually lurks at sea.
After receiving a remote activation order from the operator,
it quietly listens to the movements of the enemy submarine.
Once the enemy enters the attack range,
it launches a torpedo to launch an attack.
Because the smart torpedoes of the Tornado
can identify the enemy,
the Tornado can safely stay near the torpedo,
and even intentionally let the enemy detect it,
and then lure the enemy into the kill zone of the smart torpedo.
U.S. Navy General Girday
said in an interview with CBS that
Hujin will be one of the most lethal
and most stealthy platforms in the U.S. military arsenal.
Unmanned submarines are the trend of development in the future.
I believe that in the future,
40% of our ships will be unmanned.
For the U.S. Navy,
having an unmanned submarine fleet is of paramount importance.
Because in Western countries,
human resources are the most expensive assets in the army.
The U.S. and South Korea will practice the execution of Kim Jong-un.
Recently, North Korea has launched a series of missiles
to threaten and provoke the international community.
Late at night on December 17,
North Korea launched a short-range ballistic missile
towards the east coast of the peninsula.
The next morning,
North Korea launched a long-range ballistic missile
towards the east coast of the peninsula.
On the 18th,
South Korean Defense Minister Shin Yun-sik warned that
if North Korea continues to provoke,
then the U.S. and South Korean troops
will likely practice the execution of Kim Jong-un.
On the same day,
the U.S. military on the X-platform official account
released information about the practice of the U.S.-Korea Special Forces.
Kim Jong-un just needs to see
how the U.S. Special Forces
shoot the terrorist leader Ben Laden
in a secret base in Pakistan.
The U.S.-South Korea execution plan
is not an illusion.
Many years ago,
the U.S.-South Korean military
had already devised an execution plan
against Kim Jong-un.
In October 2017,
South Korean MP Lee Tse-hee
told the media that
South Korean military computers
had been attacked by North Korean hackers
and a large number of confidential information was stolen,
including a detailed plan for the execution
of the U.S.-South Korea joint execution operation
that would allow North Korean leaders
such as Kim Jong-un to be positioned,
blockade their long-term detention center,
launch airstrikes in the air,
capture and eliminate North Korean leaders,
and so on.
For many years,
the U.S. satellite has been
assessing North Korean military facilities
and armed equipment
and has accumulated a large amount of information.
It can be said that all North Korean military units
are under the control of the U.S. military.
An article once analyzed that
the U.S. military has seized all important military facilities
in South Korea
and destroyed its command system,
causing it to be paralyzed.
Facing such a powerful enemy,
how should Kim Jong-un choose?
He needs to think about it.
Okay, that's all for today.
