According to Chinese media, preschools in many towns in Linwei district, Shaanxi Province, have allowed children to participate in clinical vaccine trials as "volunteers" under the guise of "vaccination." These "volunteers" are rural children whose parents work outdoors all year round, leaving them behind in their hometowns, mostly living with grandparents or other relatives. After each vaccination, these children receive a subsidy of only $21 (150 rmb) for travel expenses.
