China's negative population growth may continue in next century: Expert

The Chinese Government's official statistics show that as of the end of 2022, China's population was 1.41175 million people, a decrease of 850,000 compared to the end of 2021. It is the first population decrease in China since the Great Famine occurred from 1959 to 1961 and is due to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) policies.
