Today I'm going to make smorgastorta for breakfast.
Some recipes use things like sour cream or yogurt, but
this time I'm going to use cream cheese that I had in the fridge.
Add fresh cream to the softened cream cheese and mix.
Rub the shredded carrots with salt.
Slice the cucumber thinly with a peeler.
Cut tomatoes thinly.
Cut off the ears of bread.
Add mayonnaise to boiled eggs to make egg salad.
Adjust the taste with salt and pepper.
Mayonnaise, mustard, milk.
Carrots were tossed with olive oil and pepper.
Apparently it's a dish eaten during celebrations in Sweden and other countries, and it's
a gorgeous sandwich that looks like a cake🥪.
I think this menu is perfect for Christmas.
There seems to be no particular set of ingredients, so I made it with what I had in the fridge.
Apply a thin layer of cream all over.
I decorated it with leftover ingredients.
The drink is hot coffee☕️.
Cake cutting 🍰.
I kind of regret that I should have decided on the decorations in advance😂.
It's difficult to cut cucumbers because they are perpendicular to the cutting direction...Sometimes
you don't realize until you try something.
I have some things to reflect on, but I'm very satisfied that I was able to create the menu that I wanted to make.
I came to Asakusa.
It's a holiday so it's very lively.
This is my second time coming to Sensoji Temple.
After praying, draw the fortune.
I often hear rumors that the fortunes of Sensoji Temple are often unlucky.
Number 54! I hope it brings you great fortune...
Unfortunately, the result wasn't good, so I tied the fortune.
I was drawn to Takosen because of its expiry date of 3 minutes.
Eat the rice crackers before they become moist and soft.
The takoyaki inside was melty and very delicious.
It was also nice that there was an eat-in space so I could sit and eat ☺️.
Next up is super cute strawberry dumplings🍡.
I was debating between sweet potato filling, but I chose hojicha bean instead.
I was invited to Kaminarimon Matoi by a cute cat.
I shared the aburi dango set with my husband.
If you have a drink, you'll want to order Yuzu Soda✨.
Once it's cooked to your liking, add your favorite flavors and eat.
Everything was delicious, but the koshian was especially delicious☺️.
At the end, we ate some sweet and delicious roasted marshmallows.
After eating, I took a short walk towards the Sky Tree.
It's a calm space with fewer people than inside Sensoji Temple.
I was able to see modern Japanese scenery and
good old Japanese scenery.
Asakusa minced meat that I definitely wanted to try✨.
The freshly fried, crispy texture and juicy meat were very good.
I bought branches of Hiba and red berries in the flower section of the supermarket.
I didn't check carefully, but I feel like the Hiba tree is starting to dry out...
I thought it was just one branch, but it was tied together with tape😂.
I was worried about the tape, so I removed it and
decorated the short branches to make them look natural.
Today I will bake a tart for the first time in a while.
First, make the tart dough (use an 18cm mold).
Add 25g of powdered sugar and a pinch of salt to 60g of softened unsalted butter and mix.
The powdered sugar was a little lumpy so I sieved it.
Add 25g of room temperature eggs in several batches, stirring each time.
If the eggs and butter separate, warming them in a hot water bath will help them blend together.
Sift in 100g of soft flour.
Once it comes together, cover it with plastic wrap and let it rest in the refrigerator for at least an hour.
In the meantime, prepare the sweet potatoes for decoration.
I still have time, so
I'm going to organize the storage under the stove.
It was a little stressful that the seat gradually shifted when I opened and closed it repeatedly.
Wipe it down after you take it all out.
Wipe clean the file box, which is very useful for standing storage.
I bought a cupboard sheet that has a non-slip finish.
I knew I should
start working on it sooner, but I kept putting it off.
Once I started it, it was over in about 15 minutes.
The sweet potatoes were also soft and cooked.
While it's hot, add the butter and mash it with a masher.
Add a little cream to make it smooth.
Store it in this state in the refrigerator.
I still have time, so I'll take a look at the gift catalog I received.
There are many different products, but the ones that catch my eye are tableware and food items.
I succumb to the temptation of delicious-looking sweets and eat chocolate.
I wish I had made tea instead of water...
I mark the products I'm interested in and decide with my husband.
I started making tarts again.
I really like rolling out the dough with a rolling pin.
Aiming for a beautiful circle, her face is very serious.
While editing, I realized that
I forgot to butter the mold💦.
Cut out a circle in the middle with a cercle.
Stretch out the remaining dough and wrap it around the cercle.
I don't know if this is the correct way to do it, but
I made the fabrics have the same height like this.
Poke holes in the bottom with a fork and let it rest in the fridge for a while.
In the meantime, make the almond dough to bake on the tart.
Heat the eggs in a double boiler until warm to body temperature.
Add 30g of granulated sugar to 30g of unsalted butter in several portions and mix.
Add 30g of eggs in several batches and mix.
Add 30g of almond flour and mix.
The almond dough is now complete.
Bake in the oven preheated to 180℃ for 15 minutes.
I was planning to take it out after about 10 minutes, but I completely forgot...
I took out the tart stone and baked it for another 10 minutes.
Place the almond batter on top (it will melt, so you don't have to make it evenly).
Bake for 20 minutes.
It's still cold even if I use the oven, so I turn on the heating.
It came out of the mold easily even without butter.
The theme for dinner was Japanese Christmas.
Soak the Koya tofu in water.
I'm going to make light pickled turnips in Christmas colors, which I've been into lately.
Slice the turnips thinly and rub them with salt.
Cut the Koya tofu into 4 equal pieces lengthwise.
200ml water, 2 teaspoons soy sauce, 2 teaspoons mirin, 2 teaspoons sugar.
Boil for about 10 minutes, then turn off the heat and let it cool.
Boil the turnip leaves briefly in salted water.
Squeeze out the water from the turnips and turnip leaves.
White soup stock, yuzu shichimi.
Adding Yuzu Shichimi will transform your usual light pickles.
Add mirin to eggs to make slightly sweet tamagoyaki.
I rolled the egg so that it was long and thin.
Rice cooked with kelp.
The kelp will be reused for soup stock.
3 tablespoons of grain vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of salt (660g of rice).
Divide the rice in half and mix one half with plenty of sesame seeds.
Spread the sesame vinegar rice evenly over the nori.
Flip it over and put regular vinegared rice on top.
Lightly squeeze out the liquid from the Koya tofu.
Crab sticks, Koya tofu, tamagoyaki, and cucumbers.
The length of the tamagoyaki was just perfect.
Cut a turnip leaf into a tree shape using a pick.
Trim the ends of the thick rolls diagonally.
A thick roll inspired by buche de Noel.
The toppings for the soup are star hanpen.
Light soy sauce, salt.
Is this a star...? ?
Leftover sweet potatoes used to decorate the cake.
Add wasabi and mayonnaise and mix.
Stuff it into a cercle and make it into a nice circle.
I imagined a candle wreath, but something was different...😂.
It ended up looking somewhat half-hearted.
The moderately sweet dashi soup oozes out from the Koya tofu and is delicious😋.
Sweet potato and wasabi mayo was a bit of a challenge, but
it has an addictive flavor and I plan to make it again.
Yuzu Shichimi Asazuke has the scent of yuzu and has an elegant taste.
When we think of Christmas, we tend to think of Western food, but
we also enjoyed Japanese food.
Last night's dinner was so voluminous that I couldn't even make it to the tart.
I'm finishing up the tart for tonight's tea time.
Make pine cones by inserting chocolate cornflakes into sweet potatoes.
Melt 40g of chocolate in a double boiler and mix with 50cc of fresh cream.
Add 50cc of fresh cream and whisk.
Freeze the leftover chocolate whip and use it to make hot chocolate.
Decorate with pine cones and fruits to resemble a wreath.
The tea time after dinner that I was looking forward to has arrived.
The drink will be apple ginger tea
made with homemade ginger syrup.
Finally, make a snowy look with powdered sugar❄️.
Although the tart continued to look unsatisfactory, it turned out to be a satisfying finish ☺️.
Have you decided on a Christmas present for yourself?
I gave myself the gift of relaxing time.
I'm sorry for not being able to release videos for about two weeks, but I
was able to recharge my power for the New Year holidays✨.
I'm planning to increase the frequency of posting from Christmas to the New Year, so
I'd be happy if you could look forward to it ☺️.
