Gate One family, hello from the land of the fairies.
Hello Gate One travelers, my name is Hossam from Egypt.
Hello Gate One family, this is Dina from the most hysterical city in the world, Luxor, Egypt.
My name is Hossam. My name is Nadine. I miss you all. I miss showing you around.
Denial is missing you. We miss you, Gate One.
We want to show you the new museum in Egypt. This is the newest. This is
the Museum of Civilization. This is the new house of the royal mummies.
All the mummies of all the kings and queens of Egypt that have been moved from the Egyptian
museum in the astonishing parade. The Museum of Civilization,
the latest museum in Egypt. It is so beautiful.
It's a beautiful day in Cairo. I'm standing in front of the old gates of Cairo founded in the
10th century, and I'm going to walk through the earliest street in Cairo,
in Moise Street, a place where old meets with the present.
And I would love to have you with me. I would love to share the experience.
One of my favorite places to come and visit when walking through in Moise Street
is El Sahamy House. It's a house of a family who lived here in the 17th century.
And I'm sitting now in the reception room, the place where the guests come to have a welcome
drink. I wish I were here. Well, I'm standing now in the open courtyard with a beautiful garden.
The wooden windows that are made with these little tiny holes to allow women to sit behind
and look through. Can you see me? I can see you all.
Moise Street was sectioned. Each section was specialized in something. The brass makers,
that's one section, the jewelers, another section, and the lemon traders, a third one.
Walking in my favorite mosque of all in Moise Street, it's called the Sultan Barquq Mosque
that dates back to the 14th century, in the middle of which there is the ablution fountain,
the place where the Muslims purify before going to prayer. And on the sides of the courtyard,
there are small iwans, or u-shaped rooms, where they got their education. Can you see the
beautiful colored marble decoration and mother of pearls? This, I told you, this is my favorite
of all mosques. This is Sebil, built in the 19th century. And Sebil is made out of marble,
and it's a place for the passers-by, the thirsty ones, to have a fresh cold, free of charged water.
And it's usually made by the sultans or the kings, in the memory of a member of the family
who passed away. And perpendicular on Moise Street, I just walked into the Khalili Market,
one of the old markets of Cairo. They're selling everything. And by the way, bargaining is part
of the fun. We are at the Muhammad Ali's Mosque, which is the alabaster mosque. 1830 was built,
and it's on the top of the citadel, which is built in the 12th century.
And 14 kilometers to the north, the magnificent Pyramids of Egypt.
Come and share the mystery of the pyramids. The pyramids of ancient Egypt stand like giant
gods watching over the city of Cairo, and the scale of the achievement is truly astonishing.
Right behind me, one of my favorite sites, the first pyramid to be built in Egypt,
the first stone construction in the world, standing for 4,700 years.
Here we are, one of the recently discovered temples, waiting for you to come and visit.
One of the unique temples of Egypt is that of the Queen Hatshepsut at the west side of Luxor.
From the front of Karnak Complex, which is the largest complex ever in the whole world.
We are waiting for you to come and visit Egypt. No place on earth is like that.
What you've seen today, it's just a glimpse of what Egypt can offer.
I want to show you the whole of Egypt for real. Egypt has a lot to offer, everywhere you go.
