I visited The Parkview at Shilla Hotel, which has been known as the most luxurious buffet restaurant in Korea for a long time. Now there are several other competitors that can match their food and service, but this is still the most iconic buffet restaurant in Korea.
Do you guys want to know what it's like going to the nicest buffet restaurant in Korea?
The Park Yue Shilla Hotel is arguably the most highly regarded buffet restaurant in the entire
South Korea. And it's generously priced at $120. I mean how good could it possibly be to have such
a price tag? Let's go find out. By the way, I'm joined by a friend of mine, Yayaya Young,
the greatest skincare guru I know. Go follow him. I find it kind of crazy that a buffet can be $120,
so hopefully they're not going to disappoint me. There's a lot of Giseng Chung rich family vibe
here. This spot right here is like the horseshoe band of the USA. This is like the official dating
app profile photo zone. It's a famous modern art piece. It looks alright. It looks alright.
One thing that I noticed is that everyone, including the employees and even the customers,
dress up so nicely like it's a fashion show. Well, just not us. Casual Friday, you know?
Well, I'm not here to check out beautiful people, although I secretly enjoy staring at them. Let's
take a look at the food. You know how when you go to these places, you realize that 80% of what
they have actually sucks? And you find a few things that you like and just keep eating those?
Well, I can tell you that that wasn't the case here. This is my personal opinion, but if I can
score each of their foods out of 10, none of them fell below 7, which is really impressive.
OMG, this looks so beautiful. Let's find out if it was all hype. Oh, the meatball.
Wow. Trust me guys, I'm a harsh critic, but the food just didn't feel like it's from a buffet.
The buffet also came with a glass of champagne, which I thought was kind of a nice touch because
it made me feel like a rich and successful person while I'm really not. I got some of them
snails too. I love snails because we have something in common. We're both slow, but we're consistent
with a direction. As I was saying this, something crazy happened. I guess we were being too annoying
as we were filming the video? The management offered to move us to a more private booth that
we normally have to make a reservation for. Wow, tell these climate activists that being annoying
actually worked out for me. You just gotta do it right. You guys might have noticed by now,
to me it's super important that any kind of food is priced within reason. Cause you know,
I'm not like your rich Korean friend who drives a Beemer that his mom paid for. I'm a working class
peasant, so when I pay a lot of money for food, and the food is like whatever, I get more pissed
than when my ex cheated on me. The latter happened too many times that I'm used to it by now.
I really like the portion sizes though. Yeah, everything they have is like bite size, you know?
You know how sometimes you take a prime rib and it's like, it's a buffet but that's all you can
eat? Yeah, it's like half of the plate. From the first plate, I would say that the french toast
and this meatball thing were the most impressive. So they gave us this soup. I think it's like a
wonton thing? I don't know what the name is. I think it's some kind of like french sounding name,
you know? Oh, it's so creamy. Oh yeah. It just tastes like mushroom soup. Good mushroom soup.
So my plate two, I got a lot of meat. I got some Chinese food too.
Some chow mein right here. Panda Express, keep it up. Pretty impressive buffet, right? Very
impressive. It's honestly my best buffet experience. Like, I couldn't even imagine what something
better than this would be in Korea. There's so much variety. I feel like they have a good variety
of like equal quality. You know how like a lot of buffet where they have like good meat, like
their other things served, you know? Exactly. I'm gonna unbuckle myself. So this is how I would
describe the food quality. Imagine one of those times when you went out to a pretty nice restaurant
for a dinner with high expectations and the food still tasted better than you expected. I would
say that the food here is about that level, except that it's all you can eat. Which leads me to talk
about the only food section that came a little short in my opinion. And that is their sushi and
sashimi section. To be fair, they weren't bad. Like, they weren't fishy or anything. It just tasted
similar to a more affordable sushi restaurant. It just felt out of place compared to other amazing
things that they had to offer. I also have to mention that their Chinese food was very, very
impressive. At least equal to or better than specialized restaurants like Din Tai Fung.
I think my Chinese ex would have been impressed if she was around too. Why do I keep mentioning
her? This is kind of weird. Trust me guys, I don't call her when I'm drunk. So today, you guys will
notice that I'm dressed a little nicer than usual. That is to blend in with the crowd. The cool k-drama
people. I'm doing a k-drama opar cosplay today.
I've heard some great things about their desserts. So I was particularly excited to finally try it
out. And yes, it was amazing. Guys, I'm not really a dessert person because I'm more inclined to eat
more meat if there's any space in my belly. But these desserts that they had here just felt like
they're so freshly made. And every single one of them tasted like they're from some kind of a fancy
dessert place. I was especially impressed with the banana cake and the dacquoise cake. This might be
the first time that I had a dessert in Korea that's not overhyped on Instagram and actually
delivers great quality. Yeah, I mean, I just didn't see how anybody would not like their desserts.
I want to do something that I normally don't do, which is providing a review score.
The food here is fantastic and the customer service is simply off the chart. Now, let's be honest here.
The food might not be as delicate as fine dining restaurants, but it's like an all-you-can-eat
nice restaurant. And with that, I would argue that their $140 price tag can easily be justified.
I wouldn't come here often just because it's expensive for me. But if you want to experience
something nice and not feel robbed, go to the Park View at Hotel Shilla. You will not regret it.
This is about as good as it can get as a buffet. 9 out of 10 for me.
So what did you think? The most luxurious buffet in Korea lived up to the hype? Hell yeah! If I had
the money, I would come every day. But I'm a broke-ass boy with no hair, so I gotta be frugal.
No, I have nothing either. I just have hair. Guys, I'm currently recovering from food poisoning.
I'll be back with another video soon. Thank you.
