Instead of trying to set yet another world record,
today we're going to be attempting to beat Stephen Hendry's tough table challenge.
You may have seen Stephen Hendry has a brand new YouTube channel.
Feels like everybody's given it a go these days.
But he set this challenge where you've got to make the highest break possible,
which isn't going to be easy when you play shots like that,
from having the balls in this position with a lot of reds on the cushions
and that pack of reds which would now open.
So if we pop this, there we go.
Made it a little bit difficult but yeah,
that's ended up in quite a nice position now.
We're just going to play for the red below the pink shot here.
Yeah, got past that red.
Trying to try and pick off a lot of the other awkward ones now.
So leave ourselves a few in the middle.
Just could have hit that a little bit harder.
But this seems a bit awkward because we've got to try and get 82,
which is what Stephen got, or more.
And yeah, you don't need to do that.
I might have got a bit of a bounce off the cushion there.
Black's got to go close as possible to its own spot here and not hit the cue ball like that.
There we go.
That'll be a huge refereeing error in the match.
But anyway, just going to pop this and get up to the blue.
Let's pop it off the near jaw.
I have an angle here to knock the red off the cushion.
Nope, we got away with it.
Got very lucky there.
That probably wasn't the right shot to play at all.
But most of the balls are in open play now,
other than the fact that black's still pot.
Messed the position up as a black.
Seems like everybody seems to be
had a go recently at creating their own YouTube channel.
I'm not sure how long Stephen's the last for,
but seems more committed than most because I think Jimmy White had a go.
And then I think, I don't know if Michael Holt's still doing them.
And then Mark Williams actually did something or other.
And I don't think he'll be bothered with it anymore.
So yeah, we might actually have serious competition for once.
Either way, we've got to try and make a higher break here as possible.
See if we can get into the 80s and possibly even higher.
Get back out for the pink here.
It's gone quite well.
So I think the next shot, the problem you can sort of end up getting at
is if you play too many easy shots to start off with,
you end up with all the awkward shots left.
It's a bit tough to get in position,
so you've just got to make sure you take enough of them early on.
We potted that, I thought I'd missed that.
Went in quite easily actually.
That's the red we moved from earlier, but it's still a bit close to the cushion.
There was 10 reds on the cushion to start off with,
so we're only working through them.
Just hit that a bit hard, rattled a bit much.
I was still trying to come up here, but about a foot shorter than this.
Make sure this pot gets nice and in the black.
That's pretty good.
Can I pick the other red off the cushion?
I'm just going to try and drop on it cushion first.
That's gone perfectly.
Nudged it over the middle pocket.
Now, I'll play down for the black here again.
Need to score as much as possible while they're easy.
There's a lot of low scoring to do down there.
Gone a bit far with that,
so I'm going to have to just drag this in for the next red.
Backspin on this.
That's pretty good.
All right.
I wasn't sure how easy this was going to be or not.
Right, I'm going to pop this and come out for the blue.
We're going to go down the table here,
see if we can get both those easier reds that are near the bolt cushion going.
They're only easier if you don't need it that short.
Okay.
That's not made it straightforward, is it?
So if I can get past the green here.
I'm going to be on the blue.
If not, I don't know what's going to happen.
Let's see what happens here.
If we pod it.
Podded it.
Yeah, clip the green.
It's not really a problem.
If, um, I'm thinking what to do here.
Can't do anything else except stun over.
Unless we play the blue.
I'm going to play the blue because I'm a bit straight on that brown.
I don't fancy bashing it if I wasn't this close to the cushion.
We've really got a perfect angle here.
So I'm just going to pop this.
Which it says I nearly miss it.
I don't think it goes in that pocket.
By nearly missing it, I've kind of ruined the shot now.
I've got a really awkward cut here.
Which we could do with getting.
So I bet we're close on the amount of points I need.
I haven't podded very many low value colors.
So I reckon we're there.
Well, is that going to be enough?
Well, yes, it is.
We've done it.
We've beaten Stephen Hendry's target by six whole points.
But even though it was tough, I would have liked to have gotten a few more.
Sorry, it's such a short video this week,
but I didn't have a lot of time as I've been busy with actual snooker games.
So all that's left to do is find Dan, who's from Orange County, California, which is there.
But we'll be back with a full video next week,
hopefully recreating the best shots from the UK championships.
But if you can't wait till then, have a look at these two videos.
And remember, don't just watch, play.
And make the commitment to becoming a better player
by subscribing to the channel and visit the website.
See you later.
