(Premier League 2023/2024): Highlights Sheffield United - Brentford

It is the same XI that performed so admirably against Jurgen Klopp's side, who are once again given the task of looking to get Sheffield United's Premier League season properly up and running. We are nearly ready to get underway, it is a fabulous rendition of the Greasy Chip Butty song that belts around Bramalleyne here. It will be Brentford to kick things off, going from left to right as we look at things kicking towards the Kop end, so the Blades will attack the Bramalleyne end in the first half as they like to do, and here comes a big booming ball from Ethan Pinnock, the former Barnsley defender, looking out to the far side, here's Archer, picks up a pocket of space, Auston Trusty coming forward on the left-hand side, the American to the edge of the box, he will drill one! Corner near side, Harman's going to whip it towards the back post, it's a little far, brilliant hold-up play by Asulu, nearly gets the ball back to Brooks, but it's intercepted in the middle of the park, it's going to be struck towards goal, Sheffield United could profit with Harmer, out to the right-hand side, side netting! Archer will put the ball square to Harmer, who will drill it from 25, Janot will pull it back to the edge of the box, here's Neil Mopi who drills it, it's deflected, it's held up there but the clearance is poor, comes out to Harmer, Harmer from the edge of the area, McAtee's in space at the right apex, McAtee will curl one, and it's in! And it's in from James McAtee! Keep a stunt still, James McAtee has scored an absolute dream goal, his first of the season after bagging nine for the Blades last year, out of nothing he is praised and celebrated. Second half fuelled by a bit of Bovril here at a chilly Bramall Lane, Slemani will cut into the area, Brooks on the far side, Archer's in, Slemani will turn towards goal and it's saved. He then looks up, finds Slemani outside the box, straight drive! Headed into the middle, ball cleared as far as Whistler! Saved by Fodringer, Archer's there using strength well, now he's got a chance for a one-on-one, Cameron Archer, right side of the box! There's one back here by Slemani on the near side, Slemani round the back, can he wrap it up? No! Robinson forward for Archer, here comes Peck as well, Archer's gonna strike it and curl it from 25! Last gasp, Souza in with the initial header. Edge of the box, Archer's there, Yanel into the box, it's gonna drop down, it's gonna be cleared away. Is there a VAR check here? No, the referee's whistle has blown! The check has been made, and Sheffield United celebrate at Bramall Lane! A second victory of the season, a victory for Sheffield United in the second game of Chris Wilder's return to the club. A little bit of uncertainty at the end there with that late check, James McAtee's stunner at the end of the first half, the difference between the two sides, and the Blades have a big three points here at Bramall Lane.
