A bamboo swing, or "xích đu tre" in Vietnamese, is a charming and traditional piece of outdoor furniture often found in rural areas of Vietnam. In Vietnamese culture, bamboo swings are also associated with nostalgia and cherished childhood memories. They symbolize carefree days spent playing outdoors and evoke a sense of timeless simplicity.
The frame of the swing is usually made from sturdy bamboo poles, expertly lashed together with rattan or strong fibers. It forms an A-shaped structure, with one horizontal bamboo beam serving as the seat and two vertical beams providing stability. The seat is made from flattened bamboo slats or a woven bamboo mat, ensuring comfort while maintaining the swing's rustic charm.
Often found in gardens, courtyards, or by the riverside, bamboo swings offer a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
