I guess that's right, back Charlie, that's right.
I mean with an introduction like that what more is there to be said?
People Deluded, I'm back again. Thank you very much for tuning in.
Don't forget to like and subscribe if you haven't, people.
And make sure you're commenting any thoughts throughout this video,
either when it premieres or also in the comment section after.
Turn on your notifications and don't forget we're doing a watch-along
for PSV versus Arsenal tomorrow, which will be Tuesday, live from 4.45pm
because we kick off at 5.45pm.
Now that's enough shameless promotion. I hope you lot are well and safe.
Where is my manners? Good morning, good afternoon, good evening
and of course good night, depending on the time you're watching this video
and where you are in this world and the timezone you're operating from.
Arsenal news show business, let's see the latest headlines or just anything
of interest that's connected to the club we know and love.
Odegaard urges Arsenal to be more ruthless. Now, Jorginho has said this before.
I think us Arsenal fans have been saying this for a hot minute and it would be nice.
I'd say one good thing I do like from Arsenal this season, beyond the obvious,
I don't think we give up until the end.
And, you know, definitely where the two defeats in the Premier League are concerned.
Fundamentally, we lost that six points down the drain.
Obviously, we shot ourselves in the foot with a couple of draws throughout the season.
But other than that, we've been perfect.
You know, I'm not saying to be positive or negative for no reason,
but to sit here on the 11th of December and we've got two defeats
against an infamous Aston Villa side who just dealt with City and obviously Newcastle.
I would have taken that in August.
Obviously, we lost and, you know, the Premier League is going to come down to find margins.
We all know Manchester City are going to hit back and start roaring.
Liverpool are not going away. Arsenal are in the mix.
And there's probably, while we're focusing on those three clubs,
there's probably a number of teams involved people.
But one thing I've liked, as I said, fundamentally, we have lost those two games
specifically against Newcastle Villa, which are two difficult grounds to go to,
such as Aston Villa's form and the contrast Newcastle actually have away from home
versus at home, they quite struggle.
But what I would say in those games, we lost.
That's all that matters really and truly.
But it's not like we were dominated and things like that.
We kind of dominated the game for about 85 odd minutes.
Aston Villa, for all their form, were kind of stifled.
Newcastle, I think we were good defensively, good in the middle third,
physically exerted ourselves.
But, you know, you've got to create chances.
Against Villa, it was a case of converting the chances, Newcastle creating
and also converting.
So I do think that has been a positive that, you know, based on that 90 minutes
for all the hype these teams get, we kind of stifled them, not throwing shade.
And congratulations to both of those teams.
So I think everybody knows we need to be ruthless.
Goals win games.
It's not enough to play well.
You need to win.
And how do you win? Scoring.
Odegaard has said, we have to take our chances.
When you come to a place like this, it's always tough.
So you have to be ruthless in front of goal, myself included.
I missed a few big ones.
So that's annoying.
Big up my captain for, you know, including himself in that and fronting up.
Man, hopefully your shooting boots are here against Brighton at home
in the Premier League.
And obviously, I don't know who Mikel Arteta is going to play
if he is to make rotations against PSV.
But it'd be nice to end the group strong on Tuesday.
But the only thing we can do is work hard to improve and bounce back
in the next one-on-one.
Fair enough.
He then said the record is unbelievable.
So I think everybody knows the quality in their team.
Obviously, speaking about Villa, they're very, very well organised,
good on the ball.
They have some really good individual players.
So it's a tough team to play against.
I mean, you know what Aston Villa's players individually are all about.
We'll be here all day waffling about them.
We know they've got a great manager that sets them up very good off the ball.
Such as, you know, I think they've caught opponent strikers or opponent
attackers or opponent players offside more than any other team this season.
So credit to Una Emre.
If we had to drop points, I'd rather lose it to Una Emre and Emi Martínez.
Once a Gooner, always a Gooner and things like that, people.
Odegaard has also said we need to focus on ourselves.
We have to focus on ourselves.
We can't think too much about the other stuff.
We have to look at ourselves, look at what we could have done better.
And I think especially in front of goal, we should have done a bit better.
And in some periods of the game,
we should have controlled it a bit more.
Definitely the first 10 minutes.
As I said, we did enough to get a result,
but we have to be more ruthless in front of goal.
When you come to a place like this, it's always tough.
So you have to be ruthless in front of goal, people.
And I think we've said all the others, people.
He then said, I think we're up there when asked of our assessment of the season.
So far, we're top of the league.
Well, before this round and now we're second.
I don't look at the league table, but fair enough.
So we're definitely up there and there's still room for improvements in the team
and what we're doing.
But I think it's good progress.
I think we're getting better and better.
It's going to be an exciting one.
All the games are so hard and you see now at the top,
there are more and more teams fighting and competing there.
So, of course, it's the toughest league in the world,
but that's what we're playing for and we enjoy that competition.
So we have to keep going, learn from mistakes and come back better.
Don't think anybody can disagree with that.
I think we've gone over this, people, with Vodegard.
He's also said Aston Villa didn't create that many chances,
but they did enough to win.
Shout out to our WSL team people because we had a game at the Emirates
and apparently it's a new record.
So nice to see improvements in the ladies game, people.
We have been linked to someone that was at Lens prior
and is taking life to Leipzig by storm.
Arsenal allegedly are competing to sign Openda,
according to reports in Spain.
Reports emerging from Spain about a British club's transfer movements
on a player that's playing in the Bundesliga.
I'm not too sure on the initial source, but we all know we're looking for a strike.
I would hope to sign one in January.
Probably a defender and midfielder, either on loan or permanently,
is what we're looking at.
Probably in the summer we're looking at forward.
So it doesn't surprise me to see the lanes linked with us.
You know, Bonaface, Openda, Vlahovic, Osemen, Ivan Toni, Oli Watkins,
so on and so forth, people.
Newcastle City, Chelsea and United are all monitoring the 23-year-old
and he had a good game against City in the Champions League group stage, people.
It would make sense, you know, who wouldn't be against him?
We're also linked with Jimenez as well.
So we're being linked with strikers.
On the topic of strikers, Sporting Lisbon manager Ruben Amorim has said
any of his players will only leave if their release clauses are met,
meaning Arsenal must lodge an £87m bid to sign Victor Diokeres.
Can't pronounce his name, but the former Coventry man is doing his thing.
I do think he's somewhere on the radar of our scouting,
but I don't think he's high up the priority list
and I definitely don't think we're going to spend £87m on him
and I definitely don't think we're going to do that in January.
So we'll leave that there.
Apparently, young Renauld Waters of Arsenal is in talks to get a new deal,
the 18-year-old.
It makes sense to commit him and Coles of Dewberry to new contracts, people.
Waters might be, you know, chomping at the bit and getting a bit excited,
such as the defensive injuries Arsenal currently have, you know,
a couple more or God forbid, you know, he's on the bench.
He's looking like he's going to get an opportunity
and we back our Halem boys all the way.
I would like to see him come through because he's not really a glamorous player like that.
Obviously, we like the Sackers, the Wilshere, the Smith-Rowes, the Nelsons,
all of these guys.
But I do think I would like to see Arsenal produce some defenders
on a more consistent basis.
And obviously, Waters is 18.
He needs to get experience, but could be a decent little option in the team.
Not everyone has to be a star boy with the greatest of respect
coming through the academy.
And I think he deserves this deal.
I think he's done well at youth level.
I think rightly so because of injuries and obviously because he's how he's doing.
He's in and around the first team on occasion by Mikel Arteta.
So, yeah, let's see what goes on there.
Apparently, I didn't know this.
Apparently, he actually qualifies for Germany due to his grandmother people.
And obviously, he's played for England at youth level.
Good sign.
And apparently, there's been interest from sides to take him on loan in January.
I don't think we'll let him go in January unless we get somebody in defensively.
But I do think the next steps are probably to start looking at a loan
either in January or for next season.
It's not a must, but the under-21s thing, you kind of left it.
You need to be outside your comfort zone and get season pros out wide
and have to be able to consistently perform three times a week,
three times in 10 days or every week really and truly on the Saturday
and then the Tuesday.
So, big up Waters for doing his thing.
Apparently, Newcastle are increasingly likely to miss out on deals
for goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale and David De Gea.
I don't think Arsenal would sell Ramsdale in January.
But if you bid 50-odd million or something that's attractive to us,
attractive apologies, we've got a decision to make.
For me, I'm sure Newcastle would be open to taking Ramsdale on loan
with Nick Pope's injury.
I don't know if that makes sense for Arsenal Football Club.
So, I think Ramsdale's future could be decided in January,
probably decided in the summer, folks.
Apparently, we earned just 5.1 million from shirt sales last season
despite record-breaking sell figures.
I don't know why I'm updating you on that, but it's everything Arsenal this year.
Apparently, we'll earn around 12 million from our latest sponsorship deal
with tyre manufacturer ZC Rubber, which, you know, money in the club.
Hopefully, that can filter through to transfers.
On the topic of defenders, AC Milan rumours Takirio won't go away
and allegedly, Mikel Arteta is ready to let him go.
I don't buy that because we can't afford to.
I understand if he's frustrated about a lack of football, you know.
Can't really get at a man for one chance, but he didn't cover himself.
He didn't make any glaring errors, but I don't think he grabbed his opportunity
against Luton.
I don't think it makes sense to let you go in January,
especially if nobody comes in.
Even if people come in, we need players.
I understand his frustration and things like that, but yeah.
Apparently, Arsenal need to raise funds in order to reinvest in January window
and Arteta feels Kirio is dispensable.
How much are you going to get?
Because it says Milan would prefer a permanent deal,
but they're open to a loan with an obligation to buy.
We spent 25 million on him.
Has his stock gone up?
Obviously, respectfully, the jump from Spezia to Arsenal is a massive one.
You know, you've got Iffit, Timber ahead of you, Tomiasu ahead of you,
Sinchenko, for better or worse, ahead of you.
Centre-half, you're quite unlucky that you've got.
Gabriel has performed very well since actually coming back in the side
at the start of the season.
And, you know, we have seen him play on the right-hand side of defence,
but you've got Saliba.
So, I understand if he's frustrated, if he wants to go on loan
and things like that, but his stock really hasn't risen.
So, are we going to get our 25 million pounds back and a bit of change?
I'm sure he would relish a big club like AC Milan,
a historical, massive club.
He knows the league, having obviously spent time in Italy.
I don't think it makes sense, if I'm completely honest with you.
Now, Gabriel Jesus was in for a lot of criticism
when he said goals weren't necessarily a strong point.
And apparently, he's attempted to add context to it, people.
He said, it was a moment there after a stressful game
in which there were many situations and we lost to a rival.
And sometimes we get tired of talking about it, you know.
It's obvious that they're going to hammer away at it.
I've always been honest.
And there, after the game, I felt like talking.
It's just that I put myself in a position
where I think I said the wrong thing to those people
who don't make the effort to understand, such as football.
You know, you could say a bunch of things.
They take a sentence out of context.
It's all trending and things.
And I think if you look at what Jesus said initially,
I don't think he said anything wrong.
Of course, I don't want to hear, as an Arsenal fan,
my striker say he don't like goals better yet aren't a strong point.
Benjamin White saying he doesn't watch football.
Zinchenko saying he must improve defensively
and things like that.
Ramsdale saying he can't concentrate.
Of course, initially, when you hear these things,
you sit up and you're like, what's all that about?
But when you take the time to read what they've actually said,
I think it shows awareness.
And I don't think they've said necessarily anything wrong.
I'll say it again, but I think it's clearer.
I don't think scoring goals or fighting for top scorer honours
is my strong point, but I can improve.
I want to improve.
I will improve.
I have other qualities too, but I score goals.
I've scored goals that have helped the team.
I've scored hat-tricks.
Many people, not generalising, look at the result after a game
when they see that Gabriel didn't score, didn't provide,
and they think, oh, he didn't do well.
But they don't watch the game and don't see what happened,
which is fact.
Obviously, there are things to improve.
There always will be, but the manager is happy.
Of course, I understand the real fans who see beyond the goal,
but they want their number nine to score as well.
And I score.
I'm getting better and better.
I also understand my other strengths,
which I won't give up in order to be a goalscorer.
If you say to me, oh, but would you rather just score there
and lose other qualities?
I'd say, no, fair enough.
But the big carrot was for you to do this Gabriel Souza stuff
and also be a striker that can get 20-plus league goals minimum.
If you can't do that, I'm not saying to sell you.
You're a vital member.
You'll get plenty of game time.
But we need to look at Manchester City in that you become a rotation option
and we're not living or dying by you scoring goals,
which you look at the amount of subs that have come off the bench
and scored, the amount of different goalscorers at the club.
The goals are spread around.
But I don't think anyone in our team has a proven history
of being a goalscorer.
If anything, it would be Bakayo Saka because he's done it the last two,
three, including this season.
Martinelli and Odegaard were definitely a Martinelli.
Definitely Odegaard should have bagged against Aston Villa.
So I think for Arsenal to go to the next step, of course,
what Odegaard said earlier, we need to be a bit more ruthless.
But I do think we need a proven goalscorer.
And it's about fine-tuning those fine margins now
because that's what's going to win you a league title
or get to later stages of competitions.
Don't forget to smash the like button and let me know you lot sports.
Mikel Arteta closing in on January priority after unexpected twists.
We know Marcos Leonardo is a striker.
He's been linked with us.
His agent has said it's now time to probably move in the winter
to the European market.
Unfortunately, his team has been relegated
and we have been linked with him.
Obviously, he's Brazilian, like a number of our players
and sporting director, Edu.
So in terms of age and everything else, he'd fit in.
But I just think these are linked.
Apparently, we've been given a boost by the fact
that his team has been relegated people.
Apparently, for Arsenal, though, this is an ideal opportunity
to pounce on a player that football transfers revealed
they have prioritised ahead of a January transfer window.
In line with FFP now, again, I guess it's a case of creative accounting
and you never know how much or how little a football club actually has.
But, you know, the priorities are in midfield and defence.
I don't know if we're going to sign a permanent player.
But if we were to sign a player for anything from 20 to 30 million
in midfield and all defence, that's 60 million,
is there money to go and get Santos?
Which I'm sure his team, despite the fact they've been relegated,
would want decent money for a player, really.
It'd be nice to bring him in.
I kind of rank him with the Ivan Fergusons and the Seskos
and them kind of strikers in that.
I more prefer, not necessarily Marcus Leonardo,
but definitely Sesko, one of them kind of young strikers
that's not really doing a madness in the game.
But I think they've got the scope to do that.
Obviously, if we're trying to win a league in January
or trying to win something major sooner rather than later,
of course, the more experienced players are more likely
to hit the ground running.
He would be joining mid-season.
He would need to adapt to individually and collectively
what Arsenal, Mikel Arteta demand.
Obviously, from a lifestyle point of view,
he'd be moving to London.
You need to give the man scope.
So is he necessarily ready to hit the ground running
and bag all the goals for Arsenal?
I don't know.
But he is a stronger option than Eddie Nketiah.
Forgive me for Eddie because you don't deserve that show.
I'm just painting a point.
20 years of age.
Obviously, we face a lot of competition.
His agent once said, already in the previous transfer market,
we had the, sorry, he had the possibility of being sold.
But Santos' sporting situation was very particular.
He agreed to stay because he wanted to help out
until the end of the championship.
He didn't want to leave because it wasn't the right thing to do.
But the time has come to move.
He wants to have a European experience
and his time will come this winter.
So they're doing all they can to angle.
Me, I think you go to like the Benfica's
or them kind of clubs there, you know,
the initial kind of starting point for a lot of South American talents.
You develop, you do your thing and then maybe you're sold
at a profit to a Premier League side.
Romano has somewhat poured cold water and said,
Marcus Leonardo will leave Santos in 2024.
For sure, there's no doubt.
It's not even about the club's relegation.
There are many links, but it's still at the early stages
with agents meeting clubs.
There's nothing concrete or close with Arsenal so far
despite speculation.
And that's all it is at this moment.
Mikel Ortega could be selling Emil Smith-Rowe.
Emil Smith-Rowe's place in Arsenal's plans
looks more vulnerable than ever with football transfers,
sources revealing that the midfield will be sold
in the January transfer window should a suitable offer arrive.
He's been linked with Aston Villa.
I mean, if a suitable offer arrives,
Arsenal got a decision to make.
But his stock has fallen.
He's not one of the first names on the team sheet.
He's not in and around the England squad.
He can't really stay fit.
So how much are we going to get?
Because whether you believe Smith-Rowe has a future at Arsenal or not,
if he goes somewhere, plays consistent football,
gets over those injuries,
he will show the best version of himself
and it will look like pennies on the dollar.
Obviously, if you were going to go to a madness
like we're getting Chiwemene and Fufana and, you know,
Zoubermendie and all these midfielders we're linked to,
if Smith-Rowe's a mean to an end, fair enough.
I do think one luxury that Smith-Rowe,
Reece Nelson and Eddie Nketiah have
is that they're homegrown
and we need to kind of tread lightly with that.
But with us not being confirmed to bring in a midfielder,
I don't think we're getting rid of Smith-Rowe in January.
I think he's in the Ramsdale camp in that.
I don't think the club will actively try and push you out.
If an offer arrives, then they'll have something to consider.
But he's been linked with a move again away from the club.
We'll have to see, people.
Apparently, football sources have indicated
that had Arteta been successful in bringing Gundogan
to Arsenal this summer,
Smith-Rowe would have departed at that point.
Arsenal are looking for an attacking minded eight
in January, according to this.
So read into that what you want.
Man United have joined Arsenal and a few other clubs
in the race for Jeremy Frimpong,
which again, definitely with our injuries defensively,
another defensive body I wouldn't be against.
The 22-year-old has a 40 million release clause
in his contract, which could be activated in the summer.
Would you leave Leverkusen necessarily this quick?
Obviously, Premier League, you've got a decision,
but Leverkusen are flying.
Xabi Alonso is managing them greatly.
You've got Euros to think about with Holland
and that stability staying where you are
could boost your chances.
We're at Arsenal, if everybody's fit,
it's not necessarily the case
that he's going to start over Zinchenko
or Benjamin White or Tommy Assi, etc.
But at 22 years of age, coming through City's system,
so he counts as homegrown,
being a fairly exciting attacking full-back,
which I want to see a bit more in the final third.
I'm all for it, people.
Really, really and truly.
Apparently, Celtic have a 30% sell-on clause,
which obviously could make negotiations techy
if we don't activate his release clause
and seek to do it another way.
Arsenal are seeking to strengthen the right side
of their defence, despite planning contract talks
with both Benjamin White and Tommy Assi,
who can play in other roles.
So we'll have to see.
But €40m would not be the worst for Frimpong,
if I'm honest.
Real Madrid are set to beat Arsenal
to the signing of Reading youngster Kylian Mbappe,
who's been starting week in, week out
on occasion for Reading.
He's been linked with Real Madrid at just 18 years of age.
He's currently made 18 appearances
and has three goals for the League One side.
Surely it makes sense to stay at Reading
because you're not going to play week in, week out
at Real Madrid.
But I couldn't begrudge you for wanting to sign
for Real Madrid to be in and around that set-up, really.
And I'm sure Reading, you know,
while they wouldn't want to let you go,
if they get a decent offer, why not, really?
But scouting doesn't mean you're necessarily
going to move for a player.
And I back him all the way.
If you were, you know,
he wouldn't want an English player to go
and succeed at Real Madrid.
But it's probably unlikely you'd make the grade there,
if I'm honest with you.
Apparently, Arsenal could witness the return
of club legend Dennis Bergkamp next year.
Apparently, sources have informed this website
that Mikel Arteta has extended a personal invitation
for the Dutchman to join Arsenal's academy coaching staff.
I mean, the young players and the strikers
and attackers to learn from someone that,
you know, technically amazing, gifted technically,
speed of foot, high football IQ, you'd learn a lot.
But for me, coaching staff in the academy,
big them up.
You need to be in the first team, you know.
Extra half an hour, hour after training,
Gabriel Jesus, Sakharovan, Martinelli,
Odegaard based on the Aston Villa game.
All of you lot have arts,
because you're turning a corner of sorts now.
You lot work with Dennis Bergkamp,
do some shooting drills.
Ian Wright, come off match of the day
and go help us as well.
Thierry Henry, you're managing French,
he's under 21.
So it'd be nice for you lot to be involved.
Don't know where Patrick Vieira is at this moment in time,
but you know, you can't do any worse
than some of the options.
So I'd say get him on a fitness regime
and let's get him registered in January
and let him play in the middle of the park, really.
But apparently, you know, Bergkamp's been extended,
been offered an extended invitation to return.
I don't know what capacity.
It hasn't really been said.
I don't know if it's a full-time basis
or a consultancy role,
or you turn up when you want.
Mikel Arteta believes Bergkamp's experience
and football philosophy would have a great impact
on the clubs you set up for years to come.
Why not really and truly?
As we know, Jack Wilshere is the under-18 coach.
He has been linked with a couple of manager jobs
and it looked like he was going to get the job
at Colorado Rapids,
which means he'd stay within the set-up people.
I don't think there's anyone
that wouldn't welcome Dennis Bergkamp
back to the carpet.
So hopefully, let's see what's going on.
But as I said, with all of these rumors, people,
the dream is free.
The hustle is sold separately.
Let me know your thoughts
on everything we've discussed.
Would you still want a striker and a winger in January?
Do you think we should focus on defence?
Do you focus on midfield?
Let me know your thoughts
on everything that we've discussed.
