In this video guide, we will explain how to install the Enterprise version of Lightspeed
Web Server with the CyberPanel Hosting Control Panel.
We've added resources, commands, links, and other information to the video description,
so be sure to take a look at that if there's something you need to know more about.
Before we begin, you will need to have a server with a supported operating system to install
CyberPanel.
The server should have Python 3.0 or newer, a minimum of 1024MB of RAM, and a minimum
of 10GB disk space.
You will also need a fully qualified domain name pointing to the server.
And lastly, you'll need to open the following ports of the server-level firewall.
22 for SSH, 7080, 8090, 80, 443, 25, 993, 465, and 53 for TCP, and 443 and 53 for UDP.
Once these prerequisites are dealt with, we can dive into the following topics.
Obtaining a license, using the one-click installation script to install CyberPanel and Lightspeed
Enterprise, and verifying that Lightspeed is running.
Now you're ready to install Lightspeed Web Server with the CyberPanel hosting control
panel.
Obtaining a Lightspeed license is optional.
It is possible to complete all the steps in this video with a simple 15-day trial license.
Just be aware that once the trial period is over, you will need to purchase a license
if you want to continue to use Lightspeed Web Server.
If you'd like to use a trial license, you can skip ahead to the next section of the
video.
To purchase a Lightspeed Web Server license, visit store.lightspeedtech.com in your browser.
Choose the license that you'd like to purchase and click Order Now.
Choose a billing cycle, select a caching product, and click Continue.
If you're not sure what type of caching you need, choose LS Cache Standard, which
is included for free in every license.
Click Checkout, enter your personal or company details, select the payment method, and click
Complete Order.
If you don't have a Lightspeed account, you'll create one during checkout.
An invoice for your purchase will be sent to your email address.
This invoice will include license details, but you may also find the serial number on
your account homepage.
Take a look in the Your Active Product Slash Services section where it says Serial.
Copy this to your clipboard since you'll need it for the next step, using the one-click
installation script.
The one-click installation script provides all of the necessary packages and configuration
settings needed to install Lightspeed Web Server with CyberPanel.
Here's an optional tip.
Create a screen session before you run the installation command.
This will ensure a successful installation, even if you lose your SSH connection.
Run the sudo apt install screen command, then create a named session.
Call it whatever you like, for example, MyScreen, using the command screen-s myscreen.
If you lose your SSH connection, reconnect to the screen session using the screen-r myscreen
command.
To begin installing CyberPanel, connect to your server via SSH as root, and run the installation
command.
The installation script will begin by prompting you to answer a few questions.
We would like to install both CyberPanel and Lightspeed Enterprise, so enter 1 followed
by 2.
Enter either your license serial number or type out the word TRIAL to start a 15-day
trial period.
Enter Y to install the full service for CyberPanel, which includes PowerDNS and PureFTPD.
Enter Y to install your database on a remote server, or N if you prefer to install it locally.
Press Enter to install the latest version of MySQL, or enter a specific MySQL version
1.9.4 or greater.
Enter a lowercase s to provide a default administrator password.
Enter a secure password, and press Enter.
The next two questions are about in-memory object storage that can improve website performance.
If you wish to use either Memcached or Redis, enter Y when prompted.
Otherwise, enter N.
Lastly, you'll be asked about the Watchdog script, which is in beta at the time of this
recording.
We suggest you enter N to decline until a stable release is available.
When all responses to each prompt have been provided, installation will proceed.
Please do not close your SSH terminal window, or the installation will be interrupted.
When the installation completes, you'll see crucial details about your CyberPanel
server.
Please save these details in a safe place.
Finally, you'll be asked if you wish to restart the server.
Enter Y to confirm, and press Enter.
Accessing the CyberPanel Dashboard
You've successfully completed the setup process.
To access the dashboard, open a new browser window and go to port 8090 on your domain
or IP address.
Enter the username and password that you configured during installation, and click the Sign In
button.
Once logged in, you'll be able to see a list of available functions and server resources
such as CPU usage, RAM usage, and disk usage on the dashboard.
To verify Lightspeed is running, navigate to Manage Services, then Service Status.
The Lightspeed service status should be set to Running.
If you'd like to verify from the command line that Lightspeed is listening on HTTP
port 80 and HTTPS port 443, you can run the lsof command.
Congratulations!
