Another managerial casualty in Ligue 1 Uber Eats meant Nantes had a new man on the bench for the
arrival of Haig flying Nice. Pierre Aristuit came to save the Canaries from relegation
and despite being mid-table three defeats in a draw in the last four prompted Nantes to move
for Jocelyn Kovanec. 11 changes in total since the end of last season but one that has stuck
has been one of the biggest surprises Francesco Farioli's Nice still the sole unbeaten side in
the division and a chance to return top on Saturday night before PSG's Norman adventure
on Sunday afternoon. Boutanche bringing out an early save out of Albemarle Lafont. The Nantes
keeper certainly looking sharp denying Kephren Touram as well. Lafont having conceded eight
goals in three matches before last weekend's 0-0 draw with Le Havre not since February had he kept
back-to-back clean sheets. At the other end Marcin Pulka has only conceded four goals so far this
season and yet the fifth was soon to arrive. Florin Mollet with the finishing touch. Moses Simon
finding Pedro Chirarea. Spaniard then flicking to Amusa Sissoko. Midfielder denied by the Polish
international but he could only place it at the feet of Mollet who was dancing happy.
Three goals in his last eight outings for the former Montpellier man
but Nice aren't second for no reason. Terren Moffi picking out Evan Guisan's run. Lafont
and Jean-Charles Castelletto clearing their lines before a flicked header from Terren Moffi
just didn't find the net. He ended a seven game drought without a goal last weekend in beating
Toulouse 1-0 and as yet Nice yet to get back on level terms. Those are the first time this
season that Nice have been led in a match. Farioli then in uncharted waters but not the
same stability they've had this season at the back. Mustafa Mohamed bullying their back line.
The ball ending up at the foot of Douglas Augusto so close to his first non-goal. Pablo Rosario
though the last second pulling away his hand. Terren Moffi then acrobatically tried to finally
level up but his efforts straight at Lafont. The boos were ringing around Le Bourgeois but
rather than for the home team he was against the onrushing and dangerous looking visitors
but Les Aiglons could not find their wings. The Canaries though were certainly soaring
via Lafont and Nantes could have sealed it late on. Bulka having a nightmare putting off the head
of Moses Simon. The Nigerian so unlucky reacted quickly and yet struck the post but it wasn't
necessary. 1-0 a huge debut win for Governex Canaries. Now eighth the 21st coach this century
starting by ending Nice's unbeaten start. Les Aiglons stay second but four points from PSG at the summit.
