the mson fire department has a warning
about solar panels after a house fire
last night the fire happened in a
chimney on Broadway Road around 10:00

time getting to the chimney because of
the amount of solar panels on the roof
liutenant Tony spear from the West

that solar panels pose a serious
electrical Hazard to Firefighters when
they are trying to contain a fire the
extra time that they have to take to go
around these panels could mean life or
death in some
situations from start to finish an
emergency incident we need a lot of
things to go our way and things such as
solar panels or other things that could
uh be obstacles or hindering our ability
to get to a roof or get to a certain
point in the home they do come up the
minutes are critical the minutes could
mean your property and more importantly
could mean life Lieutenant spear says
that all solar panel installations
require a per
and an inspection from your local fire
department
