Welcome to the second episode of our series on Indian Hindi stories and Indian society.
Today, in this episode, I will be discussing the great story of Guleri ji,
that is Roop Paksha.
You may remember that in the last episode, I had discussed the Vastu Paksha.
And when I am talking about discussing Roop Paksha,
then definitely, I will be discussing the story's dialogue, its vocabulary,
and the impact of the story on the reader.
And from this perspective, I would like to assure you, the listeners and the readers,
that this story has been an immortal story for its creator.
As you know, this story is a detailed description of Lahana Singh's love-based character.
And the only basis for the success of this story is Lahana Singh's
love-based character, which was needed by the society at that time,
and in which the country was struggling for freedom, and in which the feeling of patriotism was very much needed.
It is also important here that even though patriotism is not seen in this story,
it illustrates human love at a very high level.
And it is also clear that a person who cannot love his loved ones, how can he love the country?
And before I talk about Roop Paksha, I would like to emphasize in front of you, the readers,
that this story is also seen as an immortal story from this perspective,
which tells about human emotions, that a person who cannot love himself, cannot love his loved ones,
he can never love his country, his nation.
Along with these lines, I would also like to tell you about the message of this story,
that social love is developed in the context of personal love,
which is also echoed in this story.
In a society deprived of memory, how much memory can be life-giving and universal,
this can be seen again and again in this story.
The way memory is slowly disappearing in the 20th century,
the basis of which is also visible today in the 21st century,
such actions are very important to promote their social memory and personal love.
This comes up again and again in this story,
which makes this story able to fully express the truth of the Indian society.
This is the reason that even after a century has passed, this story is still relevant.
As I have told you earlier about the environment,
within this story's environment itself, its bright character is visible.
And within this environment itself, its interlocutor is also present,
about whom I am going to talk, about whom I am going to tell you.
And from the point of view of this interlocutor, this story is also very important.
The interlocutors of this story have actually become very interesting.
And on the basis of the interest of the story,
these interlocutors are the ones who give momentum to the end of the story.
Because in any story, the interlocutor not only elevates the inner world,
and makes the characters special,
but he also creates excitement and excitement in the story.
And as I said, in Punjabi Pristibhum, in childhood, in the market of Amritsar,
the way the interlocutors of two Kisorwai boys and girls are formed,
and how that conversation is transformed into excitement, sacrifice and dedication,
after 25 years of life, this is very important.
And this story's interlocutor fully expands upon this.
And in this interlocutor, what I told you earlier about the story,
that is very important.
Are you married?
This is not a question of marriage.
This is a special and vast cultural knowledge.
This is the eternal existence of man.
In this, man and nature, unknowingly, come into contact with each other.
And many times, the love of Kisorwai is also purified,
and it also gets its result.
Many times, it does not get its result.
This is such a love that does not get its result.
That is, the marriage of that boy and girl is not possible.
But the feeling of excitement that gets its result,
in the sphere of patriotism,
and in the sphere of the protection of the promise given,
it creates a great value.
And when I am saying this to you,
then you must be finding it logical.
Therefore, in order to prove this logical point,
I would like to read that practical dialogue,
that practical conversation in front of you.
I would like to explain it to you,
so that you can see,
that the conversation between the boy and the girl,
is so interesting,
and so unique.
And within that conversation,
our culture,
has been circulating for many years,
and even today,
when I am present in front of you,
with this dialogue,
I can see that.
So listen to that dialogue,
in which,
the boy is angry,
but the girl is also angry.
Look at the conversation between the two.
They took a deal and went together.
Going a little further,
the boy smiled and asked,
Did you get married?
The girl looked at him,
and ran away,
and the boy kept looking at her face.
On the second, third, fourth day,
at the vegetable vendor,
or at the milkman,
or at any other place,
they met by chance.
For the whole month,
the boy asked again,
Did you get married?
And in the answer,
he got the same answer.
Similarly, when the boy asked,
with a smile,
the girl said,
against the boy's possibility,
Did you get married?
When?
Tomorrow?
Don't you see?
This year,
which is tied with silk.
Now you see,
that in the beginning,
the boy is asking the girl,
Did you get married?
She runs away,
she does not want to say anything.
But when she feels that
the boy is asking again and again,
how much can I cheat him?
Then she says,
Don't you see?
This year, which is tied with silk.
Now you see,
as soon as the boy hears this,
the interesting thing is that
as soon as the boy finds out
that he has been married,
he says that
the sky falls on him.
Why does he get upset?
Because somewhere,
deep inside his heart,
the girl's love
was also stuck.
And as soon as he finds out,
he breaks.
And the storyteller has
made a very entertaining picture of this.
When he left from there,
he leaves the girl.
And when he moves forward,
he bumps into someone,
he hits a dog with a stone,
he abuses someone,
that is,
his behavior
expresses his love
for the girl.
And as you know,
and you have also heard
in the last lecture,
that this boy is not like that.
Now see, two things could have happened.
And this is the story
of the storyteller.
One thing would have happened
that you asked me
without asking me
and you rejected my proposal
and did not read my mind.
So why do you ask me for help?
What is the meaning of helping after 25 years?
And the second thing is that
it was a very pure love.
It was not the love of lust.
It was not the love of the body.
It was the love of the mind.
It was the love of the
heavenly sky in that mind.
Within the scope of
that heavenly sky
love,
he has been living that girl for 10 years.
And when she goes and
meets the maid
and talks about the protection of the child's life,
then that love
gets excited
and gets excited.
So in the dialogue of this story,
this is a very interesting
part.
And as it is,

and this dialogue
goes on
and in this context
I would like to say
that the incident
that took place
inside the Lama
and on which
a German
entered their camp
and conspired
and the way Lahana Singh
exposed that conspiracy
shows Lahana Singh's
skill, intelligence
and cleverness
and it was Lahana Singh's
influence
that
saved the lives
of the people
of the Indian army
because
the German
soldier
disguised himself
as his own soldier
and Lahana Singh recognized him.
So you will see
that Lahana Singh's intelligence,
his cleverness
was the element
that gave
this story
life and
along with his sacrifice
and sacrifice,
helped in
highlighting his
intelligence.
The end of the story
is with a
beautiful sentence
that I would like to read to you.
At the time of the war,
the moon came out,
such a moon whose light
gives the Sanskrit poets
the meaning of six names.
This statement is very
important in the story.
When the writer
has given the symbolism
of the moon coming out,
which has been used
symbolically in the language,
it is very beautiful
and very important
that the Sanskrit poets
have used the word six
meaning that
even though the moon
is six,
it illuminates the world
and this is the
fundamental
conclusion of this story.
Characters like Lahana Singh
are such characters
who by giving their life
and by giving
their sacrifice
protect the people,
society and Sanskrit.
This story
ends
with this message.
This is the
ideal of this story
and this is the
reason that when you
read this story,
when you hear this expression,
you will know
how deeply
this story leaves
you.
I hope that
after listening to this story,
this expression,
and after reading
the text of this story,
you will also be deeply
influenced by this story
and you will not
remain the same
as you were before
listening to this story.
Thank you very much.
