Falun Dafa (Falun Gong) gains acceptance and endorsement from the Chinese state, being categorized as a new form of human science. However, its significant rise in popularity and its nature as a free-to-practice discipline disrupt contemporary Qigong practices, especially those established by other teachers primarily motivated by profit. In response, these teachers initiate efforts to discredit Falun Gong. Furthermore, the practice's rapid expansion eventually garners the full attention of the leader of the Chinese Communist Party, leading to the launch of an investigation as a precursor to an outright ban.
