In this video, we want to create a moody brown look in Photoshop.
Have fun with the tutorial.
We want to apply this moody brown look to this image here.
As always, the image is linked in the video description.
We start by looking into our layers,
go to the settings,
and call up the channel mixer.
In the channel mixer, we want to meet the following settings.
We see the properties here and we are
in the output channel, red,
and set the whole thing as follows.
We take the red value down to 0%.
We increase the green value to the maximum value of 200%.
And we reduce blue to minus 100%.
This gives us this look for the picture,
which already goes very strongly in the direction we want to go.
However, if we now pay close attention to the picture,
we see that the colors don't match very well,
because some colors look very dull here.
Especially the skin tones here, if you look at it more closely.
That's why it's important that we change the blend mode
for this setting level, to brighten.
If we now go to brighten,
you can see that the colors all look natural again,
but we still have this orange-brown look for the rest of the picture.
So far, this has worked well.
Here you can see the difference right away.
But this look also means that the contrast is a little bit enhanced,
that especially the depths are still enhanced.
And we can do this by clicking on this setting level here,
create a copy of it with CTRL-J,
and we put this copy back in blend mode,
this time on soft light.
If we go to soft light here, you can see what that does.
We get really strong, dark tones here,
a little bit too strong for this picture.
That's why I would say that we reduce the opacity for this level,
to about 50%.
Of course, you can also adjust this from picture to picture,
as you like best.
All in all, we have already achieved the look with this.
Now we come to the conclusion,
that we want to make a subtle fine-tuning.
We go back to the setting levels,
and this time we want to call up the Selective Color Correction.
We find it down here, Selective Color Correction.
Here we are again in the red tones,
and this time we want to increase magenta to 10%,
increase yellow to 10%,
take out cyan to about minus 20%,
and then we can increase the black value to about 5%.
This setting simply ensures that we get a little warmer tones,
a little stronger, warmer colors.
You can see the fine difference here,
we go a little further away from this yellowish look,
more in an orange-reddish-brown look,
which we also want to have.
But that would be it,
this is the atmospheric brown look,
which we wanted.
If we hold down the ALT key,
and click on the eye of the background image,
then we see the original image here,
and the edited image.
A pretty cool result,
and above all, the whole thing is done really quickly.
From these adjustments that we have created here,
we can now of course also make a LUT file,
to quickly transfer this to other images in the future.
This is possible by going to File on the top left,
here to Export,
and then to Color Lookup Tables.
We can choose the format here,
set the quality,
I would just leave everything on the default values,
and then press OK.
Then you save the whole thing,
so that you can find it again, and of course rename it.
And if we click on Save now,
then we have saved the LUT file,
we can now simply go to other images,
we can open the settings here,
go to Color Lookup,
load 3D LUT into the properties,
up here again, load 3D LUT, call up,
and if we then call up this LUT file from our files,
then we can quickly transfer the created LUT here,
as you can see, to other images.
And here you can see how different this LUT can look,
depending on how the original colors are in the image.
You see here we had much brighter, stronger colors,
accordingly, this has become a real autumn glow,
in this image for example.
And in the same way, it can look completely different in other paler images,
like here.
It's definitely a very interesting look,
which is also quite popular,
and you can easily create it.
I hope that was understandable.
