(Serie A 2023/2024): Highlights Napoli - Empoli

Politano, chance to take on the Empoli defence. Still with Politano, goes for goal. Politano enforces a fine save out of Beriscia. Floated in by Politano. Nice looking ball, Anguissa. And then Giovanni Simeone on the rebound. Couldn't hit the target. Beriscia once again to the rescue, though. Mostegard, has he got the better of Caputo? The answer is no. Cancellieri, lovely touch. Youssef Malleh, back to Cancellieri. A whisker wide. Kambiaghi who switch flanks, right to left. Rolled in, and that's a first time effort from Filippo Ranocchia. It's played short, this is Malleh. Off loads. Played back in, and then in comes the shot. And it stings the gloves of Gollini. Well worked corner, Nicolo Kambiaghi. Covarratelli, a chance to take on the Empoli defence. Checks insides. Off loads. Only just come on here. And Lindstrom, very nearly breaking the ice. That would have been some impact from the Dane. Lovatka has a bit of time and space in between the lines here. Di Lorenzo, curled in. Comes to Kovicia, Covarratelli. Goes for goal. And Beriscia, once more, frustrating Napoli. That's more like it from the Azzurri of Naples. Zielinski, curls it in. Luperto away, and then on the volley, back in the mix. This is Covarratelli, and Beriscia once more. He continues to frustrate Napoli. Jazzy, back with the Buehi. Can Empoli get a last minute goal? Yes, they can. Would you believe it? Viktor Kovalenko has come off the bench to grab a goal in the first minute of added time. What a time to end a 46-game goal drought in Serie A. The jeers and whistles fly around. Napoli fall to a shock defeat to Empoli here at the Maradona. Final score, Napoli 0, Empoli 1.
