The Toyota Land Cruiser and Lexus GX have undergone a complete facelift for 2024 and
are now more boxy and tough than ever. It is obvious that the two are closely
related because they both share design cues and the TNGF body-on-frame platform.
Although the GX and Land Cruiser share many characteristics, such as an emphasis on off-road
driving, they also differ significantly. In our specs comparison of the Toyota Land
Cruiser and Lexus GX for 2024, you can see what sets these two SUVs apart.

Exterior dimensions while the GX's exact dimensions are not yet known,
those of the Land Cruiser should give you a decent indication of how huge it will be.
According to Toyota, the Land Cruiser will have a wheelbase of 112.2 inches and a length of 193.7
inches by 2024. The side mirrors are 84.2 inches in width and 73.2 inches in height.
Only the heights of the Luxury, Luxury Plus, Premium, and Premium Plus trims,
as well as the Overtrail and Overtrail Plus trims, have been made public by Lexus for the 2024 GX.
These are 75.4 inches, 75.6 inches, and 76.2 inches, respectively. Expect the Land Cruiser's
other proportions to be comparable to or the same as its own.
Engines and power. One of the most significant distinctions between the new Land Cruiser
and GX is this. With a 2.4 liter turbocharged i4 and an electric motor built into the 8-speed
automatic transmission, the 2024 Land Cruiser is now a hybrid vehicle. This system is known
by Toyota as iForce Max. It also comes in the 2020 Ford Tacoma, where it makes 326 horsepower
and 465 lb-ft of torque. Standard equipment includes a 2-speed transfer case and full-time
four-wheel drive. Maximum towing weight is 6,000 pounds. The Toyota Tundra shares a 3.4 liter
twin-turbocharged V6 with the GX. It generates 349 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque in the GX
and delivers it to the standard four-wheel drive system via a 10-speed automatic transmission.
It is capable of towing 8,000 pounds moreover. A hybrid model is in the works.
Seating Capacity. The majority of Lexus GX variants will have two rows of seats,
which can accommodate five passengers. However, certain trims will offer a three-row seating
configuration, increasing the number of passengers to seven. Toyota has already said that the Land
Cruiser will only be a two-row SUV at this time. Eventually, a third-row seat could be added to the
Land Cruiser, or it might just be available on the GX. Off-Road Features. The Land Cruiser and GX
improve their off-road reputation in their latest generations, and they have the tools to do it.
A locking rear differential, hill descent control, off-road cruise control,
and 18-inch wheels with 30-inch tires are all standard on the Land Cruiser.
In higher-end models, additional features include a front stabilizer bar that detaches,
driving modes for various terrains, and a camera for spotting path obstructions.
Toyota will provide or include a ton of extra gear, including as roof racks, rock sliders,
LED fog lights from Rigid Industries, underbody skid plates, and more. The Torsen Limited Slip
middle differential and four-wheel drive are the only off-road features that come standard on the GX.
With the optional GX Overtrail trim level, a ton of off-road equipment is included.
These features include a locking rear differential, an interconnected hydraulic suspension,
driving modes tailored to the terrain, off-road cruise control, trail turn assistance,
and hill descent control. The 18-inch wheels and 33-inch tires used by the GX Overtrail
enable it to go. Although off-road aptitude isn't only based on numbers, they are nonetheless
important. In 1958 specifications, the Land Cruiser's approach angle was 30 degrees.
In Land Cruiser and First Edition trims, it was 31 degrees. A 25-degree breakover angle and a
22-degree departure angle are included in all Land Cruiser versions. There is a 26-degree approach
angle on every GX. The breakover angle for the Premium and Luxury classes is 23 degrees,
while it rises to 24 degrees for the GX Overtrail. On the Luxury, Overtrail, and Premium grades,
the departure angle is 21, 22, or 23 degrees, respectively.
Starting Price According to Toyota, the Land Cruiser's
starting price in 2024 will be in the mid-$50,000 range. The entry-level Land Cruiser 1958 is
anticipated to carry this price. However, the Land Cruiser and Land Cruiser First Edition trims
have not yet been given a price. But we anticipate those to increase to $65,000 or more. Although
Lexus hasn't officially disclosed the new GX's pricing, given that the current model begins at
just over $60,000, the 2024 model is almost certainly going to cost more. The 2024 GX's
starting price of around $70,000 is not unexpected. Both cars will be obtainable
sometime in the spring of 2024. Don't forget to like this video and subscribe to our channel for
