Hello people of the internet, and welcome or welcome back to another video.
In today's vlog, I thought I would bring you along for a monthly reset because it just
so happens that this month, the first of the month, falls on a Sunday, which is when I
usually like to do my resets anyways.
And yeah, I think my life is just in need of a bit of a glow up.
I kind of need to get my things in order.
That includes some cleaning, I have to catch up on assignments, also want to do like some
journaling and set some goals.
So yeah, those are like a few things I want to do today.
I'm actually not going to do everything today, I'm just going to be realistic.
It's already like Sunday afternoon, because I spent all morning doing some editing.
And since I'm doing like a major monthly reset, it's probably going to take more than just
today.
But yeah, just like wanted to say that because I think a lot of like videos on YouTube have
these people getting their lives together in like a single day, when that's actually
a process that takes like quite a bit of time.
So I'm going to be probably filming all throughout this week, but we're going to try to get like
a lot of it done today too.
I'm going to start with some cleaning because I have not like properly cleaned my room in
such a long time.
So yeah, I want to get that done first because I am a firm believer that a tidy space equals
a tidy mind.
So I'm going to get to that.
But yeah, without further ado, let's go ahead and get started with this monthly reset.
Hello everyone, voiceover Clarice here, just hopping on to give a few more reset tips as
this video goes on.
So as you can see, first thing I usually always start out with is cleaning my space.
I function so much better in a clean and tidy environment.
And I really do live by the statement that a clean space equals a clear mind.
I think that is so true.
So usually when I clean my space and kind of do more of a deep clean, I like to give
myself a bit of a to-do list or routine like within that.
So I usually always start by washing my sheets, putting that in the wash already so that it
is ready and I can just continue cleaning while that's taken care of.
And then the second step is just to clean anything that might be lying around on my
floor.
And to help with that, I like to just throw everything onto my bed because then at least
I can see my floor and I can just organize everything on my bed from there on and put
everything in its place.
Also another like efficient way or tip to motivate yourself to clean, I'd say would
just be to like set a timer.
You could even just set like an hour long or even 30 minute long timer on the weekend
and just dedicate that time to cleaning.
And I promise you will feel so much better after that.
Honestly, the hardest part about cleaning is often just like getting started.
So also putting on some music or maybe calling a friend to get yourself like in the mood
or just to make it a bit more interesting could definitely help you get started with
that first step.
I just finished cleaning my room and now I'm going to move on to the bathroom because it
is also rather messy.
For me, cleaning is like an essential part of my reset routine.
I can't go without it.
It's often the first thing I do because I just already feel so much more accomplished
when I get that done and so much more put together.
It's also great because then throughout the week, I don't really have to bother and like
think about having to clean.
I can just make sure that I'm cleaning up after myself as the week goes on.
I essentially just finished deep cleaning my room and my space.
I also changed into some actual clothes because I was just still in my PJs from this morning.
All that to say, I am now going to be moving on to more like of a monthly reflection.
I want to do some monthly journaling and kind of walk you guys through that process.
As you may know, I am trying to get back into the habit of journaling.
I mention it a lot on my channel just because, I don't know, I've been journaling for maybe
like three years now, a little bit over that, and it has been like super beneficial for
just like my mindset.
I think the times when I'm journaling are the times when I'm actually dealing with my
stress well and working on my goals, and I just feel a lot more like well-rounded, whereas
usually when I don't journal is when I tend to like avoid what I'm going through and just
like overall overthink things a lot more.
As I've been trying to get back into the habit of journaling over these past couple of weeks,
I have been bringing it with me like everywhere I go to just write out like some updates,
but I've also been doing some like weekly journaling and answering some prompts, and
so now since it's the beginning of a new month, I thought I could write out some monthly prompts
to kind of guide my reflection, and I think this is really helpful because at the end
of the month you can look back on the goals that you set and kind of see how far you've
come.
Let's go ahead and get to journaling.
Just to give you guys a little bit more information about the kind of prompts that I like to write
about, I usually start off my monthly reflection with what I want less of and more of during
the upcoming month, and I think this is great also just to reflect.
And then similarly, I then move on to writing about one thing that I learned during the
past month, which brings me to my next prompt, which is one habit that I want to work on
for the month.
Obviously for me this was journaling and I kind of just expanded on why I wanted to target
this habit.
Last but not least, I like to do a little bit of manifestation, and I write down what
I'm attracting during the month.
And lastly, I like to close off by writing down a monthly affirmation that kind of encompasses
the energy that I want to bring.
Good morning everyone, it is Tuesday, October 3rd, and I actually don't have any classes
today so I thought I could use the day to catch up on some schoolwork and also complete
this kind of monthly reset.
On Mondays I have like a very busy day packed with classes, so doing anything productive
after school was just a no.
I ended up taking it slow and kind of just going to bed early, but today I feel a lot
more well rested and ready to be productive.
On Sunday after I finished journaling I ended up doing a little bit of schoolwork, obviously
because I hadn't done any all day so I kind of just got ahead on some readings for the
week but I still have a lot of schoolwork to do and I do think that is an important
part of resetting if you're a student, trying to make sure that you are up to date and hopefully
ahead on assignments is really ideal.
There is honestly no better feeling than having an assignment done early or like working ahead
of time on your schoolwork and then there's just like no stress or anxiety looming in
the back of your mind.
You can just really focus on the work and making it as good as possible.
Obviously that's not always realistic but I know that my midterms are coming up at the
end of this month so I'm already going to be starting to think about that.
If you're curious, I like to use this app called Flora, I show it in a lot of my vlogs
and you basically just like plant a tree or like a flower or whatever in the garden
on your phone and then you set a timer for how long you want it to grow and then during
that time if you ever leave the app it'll kill your tree or your plant so then that's
like more motivation to obviously not do that and not get distracted.
So yeah that being said I'm going to go ahead and get started, write out my to-do list for
the day and then start getting things done.
As a lot of you can probably relate to as a student, an important aspect of resetting
is also making sure I'm staying on track of assignments.
In my Notion template, which I'll link down below if you're interested, I have this master
list of assignments and it does have a calendar view so I can look at what's coming up during
the upcoming month and I like to do that sort of at the beginning of the month to see what
I should start working with.
This month I'm going to have my midterms so obviously I have a lot coming up and it's
just good to kind of keep that in mind and start planning out how I can stay ahead.
I also have a reading break this month so I will be using that time to most definitely
catch up on work and try to get as ahead as possible because I really really don't like
rushing for assignments.
I don't think anybody does and it's just not the energy that I want this semester so doing
a bit of an academic reset is super super helpful and essential as a student.
So little update, it is a few hours later, it's actually like 4.30 right now and I've
basically spent all of today at this table doing some assignments but now I'm going to
take a little bit of a break from schoolwork and get back to my reset and what I want to
do is track my finances.
I would have done this Sunday but I didn't really have like the time to do that or energy
so I'm just going to do it now and I like to do it at the end of every month ideally.
Sometimes I forget and then I have to do like two months in one but I basically just go
back and look on like my statements to see what I've spent my money on and I also like
track my income as well just to see what type of revenue it is like if it's fixed income
or if it's extra and all those types of things.
So yeah this takes like honestly maybe 30 minutes, it's not that bad but I often put
it off so then I end up just like doing it in bulk but I think last time I was actually
pretty caught up on tracking my finances so I should only have to do it for the month
of September that just finished.
I wanted to kind of show you what my budget tracker looks like, I'm going to be honest
I kind of combined like a bunch of different templates so I don't know if I'll be able
to find where I got this from but you can just google budget tracker notion template
on google and find something that suits you and yeah overall I just think it's a good
habit to get into.
Good morning everyone it is Wednesday and I am now going to be moving on to the last
part of my monthly reset which is to do some self-care.
I was going to do this last night but then I was kind of in a rush and like I wanted
to do some school work still so I figured I wouldn't like rush it because obviously
I didn't want like having to do self-care to stress me out because then I would be very
counterproductive so I figured I would just do it this morning.
I'm also just going to be like getting ready for the day you know get myself feeling presentable
and somewhat cute because I think that can be definitely a confidence boost.
I've got my cup of green tea with honey which is delicious.
Even though my bangs are like kind of grown out I still like pin my hair back to make
sure nothing falls out of place.
I'm actually going to be using this sponge and it is a contract sponge infused with turmeric.
Boy that feels really good.
I'm going to be moving on to more like everyday regular self-care.
Yesterday I ended up going on a bit of a walk like as a steady break and it was so nice.
It's only like the fourth day of October and already from my walk yesterday I noticed like
all the leaves changing color and there was some on the ground and it was very like you
know just cozy fall vibes.
Usually I would put on mascara but lately I've just been curling my lashes and I use
the Ordinary Lash and Brow Serum just because during the day I notice like I tend to always
kind of like go like this or like I just don't like having to take off mascara at night that's
how lazy I am so I've just been using this instead and it looks really natural because
it is it's like just my natural lashes.
I think I need to restock soon though because I think I'm running out.
I don't really feel like putting any makeup on today since anyways I'm just going to class
but I'm gonna go and get dressed and then finish getting ready for the day and finish
doing this little self-care.
All right I just finished getting ready I feel nice and put together I also tried to
like kind of curl my hair but honestly my hair does not hold curls well whatsoever so
I did it very fast and very like loosely but yeah I'm really liking the outfit today.
I have class later this afternoon so I'm gonna head out but I hope that you enjoyed that
basically concludes this monthly reset.
This is kind of like the quote-unquote template of monthly reset that I try to follow every
month but for the most part I think resetting is just like checking in with yourself making
sure you're taking care of yourself and you're working towards your goals and for me that
was just like kind of getting my things in order slowing down a little bit but also catching
up on work.
Yeah I feel very prepared and very excited for the month to come I'm also very excited
about some upcoming videos so stay tuned for that but yeah on that note I hope you have
a lovely rest of your day or night wherever you are and I will talk to you guys in my
next video.
Bye!
