Today is Sunday. It is turnaround day and we are in Ravenna, Italy.
So I'm just about to get off the ship and make my way
into the town. Fortunately, this week is my
week off of muster, so I don't have anything
until parade later this evening. So the plan
for the day off the ship is to grab breakfast at Cedici,
such a good breakfast spot in Ravenna. And then I'm still on the hunt for a
shoe rack for the cabin as well as some kind of table that has storage
because we definitely need it. So it's going to be a busy week ahead, a
really fun week ahead. I can't believe that we are coming to the end of our
European season and then we will be making our way
over to Miami at the beginning of November.
Nothing will beat an upstate New York fall
and that is a fact. You still have to experience
fall in Buffalo. I really do. It's so nice, like they have the fall
fest in Ellicottville and all the leaves change colors and it's
just stunning.
I'm excited. It's been a while for me. Do you want to sit outside or do you want
to sit inside?
Yeah, the peanut butter is amazing. So nice, right?
How do they do it? Oh my gosh. I need to get their recipe for this.
How do they make this? I need to know. I kind of want to order
another one. Every time I'm here I'm like, I want two.
You should see if they have like the sauce.
Show us the shoe rack. They have other stuff too for the
room that might be useful. Oh, is it sale day?
Oh, Christmas. Oh my gosh. What do we even put on that? It's so funny.
Oh my gosh. Susie was just saying that she wanted a
jewelry organizer and that's literally what it is.
There's a pink Christmas tree in Flying Tiger
for eight euro and I really want it.
I really want it. I know it's a bit early considering it's next to
the Halloween poster but like so cute. Okay, if I don't get the tree I have to
get a Christmas mug. They've got Christmas totes too.
We made it back on board. I can't believe there was a Flying Tiger in Ravenna and
I never noticed until this turn around. I was missing out a
little bit but it's okay. I did pick up a postcard because I have
not yet gotten one from Ravenna so I can add this to the wall behind me.
Also found a fitted bed sheet for obviously the bed.
They don't actually provide fitted bed sheets for us
so it's kind of a pain in the neck. So this is just going to be a lot easier
and it was on clearance for five euro. And then last but not least, I
couldn't help myself. I got a Christmas tote bag
from Flying Tiger. This is the only Christmas thing I ended up buying
because it's a little too soon but not in my
opinion. So I got this and I'm gonna hold out using this
at least till after Halloween. I might go to the mess,
grab a bite to eat. I'm not too hungry. I'm still full from breakfast
and then I want to do some cleaning in the cabin and also
get a workout in at the gym.
the last like five hours. We actually left
Ravenna early because of the weather. Like we were supposed to leave I think
around five or six o'clock. Usually six o'clock is when we're
The wind is insane. Like we can feel the
rock from all the way down here on deck one which is basically
at sea level. So that's just crazy. I can't stand up straight. I cannot walk in
a straight line. Like we're all over the place but hopefully
tomorrow the weather is okay and it's just
overnight like this. But I had like an hour at the gym.
I worked on a little bit of editing. We had parade. I had dinner.
Took a shower and now I've got clean hair and now we're just gonna wind down
for the rest of the evening because I'm tired and I feel like it's been a
long day. I do feel like the rock is making me more sleepy than I am
but regardless I want to get a good night of sleep because tomorrow I have
two shows in the evening. Also I've been trying to rock the natural hair
recently if you didn't notice. For any curly girls out there
let me know products you recommend or tips
because I'm trying to get my curl pattern back a bit. After years of
bleaching my hair and way too much heat it's a struggle for
sure but if I can get it to its full potential
I will be thrilled.
Good morning. Rise and shine. It is another gorgeous day.
I have had such a good morning so far. I'm feeling
very productive, very inspired. I vacuumed the cabin and reorganized a bunch of
stuff so the room is looking a lot better than
what it has been the last couple days. A clean space just makes the biggest
difference and it did not even take me that long so I'm glad that that is all
sorted out. I've kind of made a plan for this morning what I want to get done
because we aren't arriving to Katora until 11 a.m
and I don't find it very likely I'll be able to get
off today because we have shows and our cruise director Tanya that kind of
helped us out last time we were here she signed off so
I do not predict that we will be able to catch a tender with enough time.
My plan is to stay on board today but I do have a lot of admin stuff to get done
so I want to take my laptop to Studio B
and watch the Salon because this is one of the most gorgeous salons.
Lunchtime. Made it to the mess. I made a little salad.
It's very quiet in the mess today.
It's a few hours later. I have just gotten ready
and I am on my way to Studio B right now to warm up for our shows tonight.
All done with warm up ice. Just double checking my presets but I think
everything is good to go. I had to put a lot of
bits back together because we washed two different costumes last show day.
So we washed waltz and spring and waltz I had to re-snap all of the fur
so that took a bit of time and then also the little bows and fur
on the actual costume.
It is about really focusing on what I'm doing.
Hi. Hello. Hi. Little treat before the show.
What is it? Chocolate? It's like...
It's hard. It gets softer.
from last night's shows. I woke up in pain.
I feel like I have been hit by a car. Maybe even a small bus.
This show is brutal. Like we are going on two and a half months now on board
and still the next morning after doing a show is just
really hard and that's with me being adjusted to the show and the stamina
and the cardio. Like I finish the show and I feel
okay. Like I'm not struggling to get through the shows
but I definitely feel sore the next day
and we had the added layer of an extreme list.
At this time I kindly ask that you close staircase
7C port side. We've got drill this morning so I'm
up early. I'm in my blues and I'm just waiting for
seven short one long because that is when I respond.
But yeah I'm tired. I'm sore and we've got...
Sorry. We've got a decently busy day planned. We don't have shows today but
I've got obviously drill this morning. I've got
all skates this afternoon and then this evening I am dressing the production
shows. So we dress the shows every single week
but we have two teams because we don't need
all 10 of us from the ice cast to help every single week.
So yeah it's gonna be a day full of my other duties
aside from skating but we are in Corfu so
this is our last time to visit Europolis.
We've got to get one last euro for old times sake
and I'm gonna miss it. I'm not gonna lie. By far the best
euro I've had the entire contract and I've experimented with a lot of
different places.
I really thought that this drill was gonna be quick.
Because it started early. I was excited. I was like we're gonna get in and out but
nope.
Two hours later we're done. You know when fall has a specific
scent in the air? That's what today smells like.
It smells like fall. It smells wet and I was wrong. I thought this was our
last time visiting Corfu but we actually have next week as well
so don't worry.
Hey! Nice to see you again! Hi! I know.
Another day, another dollar. It's fresh, stocked and ready to go.
First of all, world's smallest umbrella. Secondly, we just honest to god just saw
a guy drive by with like the tiniest motorcycle
I've ever seen. Think of the Grinch when he steals the
whose car. Yeah. Exactly like that. He was squatted. I need to
get like insert a photo. I'm really sad I didn't get a video of it but
so many questions. We got the goods. We got the goods and that's what matters.
Cheers.
Every single time it's good. Don't you lick your lips at me.
I'm back on board. I'm in studio B and now it is time
for all skates so I've got two and a half hours of all skates. Wait, two,
three. No, three and a half hours of all skates.
Another day, another dollar baby. Today is day four of the cruise
and today is our final visit to Paris. It's very bittersweet that this is our
last visit here because that means that our European itinerary
for the contract is coming to a close. We are repositioning
to Sedevecchia next cruise and then after that we will
be doing the transatlantic crossing over to Miami. Today is finally the day
that we are picking up some new furniture for the cabin so I am so
excited to have a table that actually has storage
within it. It's going to be super useful because
you know how small the cabin is and also we do need to find a shoe rack
and then maybe we'll find like a smaller side table because he brought his
PlayStation so he needs something to set it up on.
That is our priority for today and we also have to make a quick stop at the
post office because I have a package of some sort
that was held in customs. I actually have no idea what it is so we're gonna pop
there. It's just around the block from Ikea
so that is our plan for today. See you in a few hours
explorer. Hello. Here we are.
We come back to the ship with a futon. Is this right size for your PlayStation?
For the side table or you need a little bigger? It would probably take that.
Okay. Would it be upright or flat? I could do it upright.
And then we could put something next to it. Something like this
but maybe with all cubes. I think if you just get this
it's 40 and then you just buy the cubes for it.
I love it. Picked up a package. I have no idea what it is.
I just had to pay 25 dollars in taxes for it but
we got it. Sad news is that the shelf we want to buy
they only had one but it was damaged so we couldn't buy it
So we've come out of Ikea empty-handed. And our final stop. Now we're talking.
Our boat's been so long to a successful day.
We've made it back on board. I want to give you a haul of all of the things we
got and then we're going to open the package together because I have no idea
what's inside. Two bags of pretzel sticks. Four of these
plant-based yogurts. I want to try and see how they are in my belly. We've
got dried mango, barbecue chips, we've got some hummus,
two packs of blueberries, two oat milks, barbecue sauce, gluten-free
cookies, granola, caesar dressing, bananas, some more
coffee pods, some coke zero, honey, peanut butter,
gum, and then two monsters. So that's everything.
Sadly that was our last visit to that grocery store but I can't say that I'm
gonna miss the traffic in this port. Everyone drives
like a maniac. So it's it's a little bit stressful
getting out of the port and then coming back but you know it is what it is.
We actually sprinted to the post office because
on my maps it said it closed at 2 45 and it was 2 44
when we were starting to walk there. So we literally ran there
and all of the kiosks were turning their cards to say close.
So luckily we got this just in time. This is a pleasant surprise.
I got a package from Chamberlain Coffee. This is so exciting. So we've got a tote
bag. You know I love a tote. And then they also sent me
the sneaky bat pumpkin spice blend which is super exciting for
fall time. And then we've got another mason jar.
You know I love it. So cute. Lastly some straws. I had no idea that
was coming actually. So I just uh I just brightened up my day a
not the last one to arrive to notes. Usually I'm the last one.
It's like one minute call time to do the show.
with shows for the week and I'm so tired from last night's shows.
It was just a really late night because we didn't even finish
the show till like 11.05, 11.10 and then after showering, eating, putting
costumes away it was probably half past midnight.
And then I couldn't fall asleep because I was just so wired. So
it was a late night for me but we are up and at them. Today is our last visit to
Mykonos which is bittersweet of course. Things could change of course but my
plan is to grab a coffee somewhere
and just sit down with my laptop and get some
wi-fi work done. And then when I come back on board
later I am actually doing open ice so that'll be fun.
Also this morning and the past couple days I've been thinking about
Halloween and what the heck I'm gonna be for Halloween this year because I did
have a plan with Callum but we weren't able to
deliver the costumes to the ship. So now we're kind of scrambling because we
don't have time to order anything because yesterday was
our last day to receive packages and also it's
very hard to find like a costume store in any of these ports.
So we've got to get creative. If you have any ideas send them my way. Maybe I'll
already come up with something by the time this goes live but I have
no idea and this happens every single year. Like I always have tons of ideas
for Halloween costumes months in advance and then October rolls
around and I've got nothing planned and then I wait till the last
possible second and then just whip something together
last minute.
Little change of plans. We were gonna get off the ship and go to a cafe for some
wi-fi but we have decided instead to stay on board
and we're gonna make the day out of it. I had a really good
workout. I'm glad that I pushed myself to get there because I was
just tired this morning but I feel much better now that I've gone. We
had some lunch in the mess and now we've made some more coffee
and we're gonna go up to the pool deck catch a little bit of sun because it's
a gorgeous day outside. Maybe play some pickleball, some mini
golf. We're gonna try and get a couple activities in and just
have a nice afternoon together.
The pink ball obviously.
Oh there's a- I didn't even see that there was a
opening. Maybe we can redo if you want. Nah it's okay.
Number two. It's pickleball time. Thank you.
I don't know if you can hear but the ship is rumbling severely because we are
leaving port right now. I had the best afternoon honestly. It was
exactly what I needed. It was a nice change of pace to just
stay on board and have a very relaxed chilled day. We got
to do some activity. We got to get some sunshine. I don't know
if I got any color because the UV index wasn't super high
but it was still nice to just be outside, read my book a little bit, listen to some
music. We had some really nice chats and now I'm gonna head to Studio B
because I signed up for open ice. So I honestly don't know how long I'll
skate. Maybe 30 minutes, maybe 45, maybe an hour.
We'll see. I don't know if anyone else signed up to skate
so if no one's there I might end up staying on the ice for like an hour
because I can just get lost in playing around and I honestly
have not skated on open ice in a very long time so I am
quite excited to just skate for enjoyment rather than like
preparing for a show which of course I enjoy as well but there is a difference
of just getting on the ice and just having fun. Also this jacket I'm wearing
we actually got a gift for the crossing so the
I think it was last week but they had like a jacket distribution
it was absolute mayhem the i95 was completely backed up like there was a
huge long line and I was in the line maybe 30 minutes
before they started handing out jackets and I still ended up with a
medium like they ran out of small immediately so this one is massive on me
but this is actually the inside part of the coat it's like a winter coat
um so this is the jacket we've got this is what it looks like
and then this is on the inside of the jacket so you can
you know wear it either way but yeah it's super cozy it's fleece
and that's what I just threw on today.
Today is day six and this is our final visit to Argostoli so
the cats and I are going to have a day out we rented cars and we are going to
drive around and explore once again I am not in charge of plans I'm just showing
up and kind of going along for the ride so I
don't really know what we have planned today but it's going to be a great day
regardless.
So we've been driving for about 30 minutes and we've just stopped to pull
over on the side of road because there is like an overlook to
Myrtos beach it is so beautiful and the other car just
joined us so we're here we're going to take some pictures
enjoy the view like did you get it that way and I just hit like on that rock
no which rock don't ask questions no I I'm worried for you no no no no this one
here this one here I'm not going down there
no but that too is just that's too dangerous
okay hi friends oh my gosh you scared one they just like
want to be in the shade look at that day in the cage
there's so many oh my gosh hi
this town is so tiny and cute like so quaint
and because it's off season it's quite quiet but it's
really peaceful oh my gosh so many little kitty cats
hey guys oh this one's just a kitten hi
I think they're waiting for food
our final stop of today's excursion Piscardo we're at all the way at the
top of the island
it's a few hours later it's time for dinner
we are gonna go to windjammer tonight so I've just got this
little dress on from white fox I've got my new heels and then I kind of
try to style my hair a little bit like blow dry it so it's a little more tame
because it was crazy from the wind earlier today we're gonna have
a nice dinner and then just chill
today is day seven of the cruise final day of the cruise and the weather is
absolutely disgusting outside it is giving fall for sure
um very overcast I think it's raining a little bit
and it's a little bit rocky so I think that all skates this morning
is gonna be busy because the weather isn't nice outside they're gonna come
inside and do an activity but we are ready to go we got an extra
hour sleep last night I made a nice coffee
so yeah attention all skaters with a blue wristband once again all skaters
with a blue wristband your session is now over
please clear the ice and return your skates and helmets to the table
I've just gotten back to the room all skates is finished and I had
some lunch in the mess but I have to say
my patience is being tested thoroughly today
with laundry laundry is always a fiasco like it never or hardly ever
is a smooth process so I spent about three hours on laundry this morning
kind of bopping in and out of studio b to just change it over
and then it had to be dried twice because the dryer doesn't work properly
and also the washers don't really work properly either
I put the laundry back in the dryer to start it again someone takes it out when
it's still wet so super rude and puts their stuff in
so then I have to now put my stuff in again
and wait for another dryer to be available finally after all of that is
said and done I take it out and it smells
disgusting like it smells dirty and when I put
the sheets and the blankets in they they didn't smell bad they just
needed to be washed and this literally smelled like
old sweat like it was gross so now I have to wash and dry
everything a second time and there's like no
free washers available so it's just been a bit of a annoyance to be honest
in theory free laundry sounds like a great thing but it's actually a
nightmare to do your laundry on the ship because
half the machines don't work and they're always taken or people take your stuff
out of the dryer when it's sopping wet so it's never fun and I always feel
aggravated after doing it but it is what it is there's worse problems to have
I'm going to channel this frustration and use it as fuel for my workout so I'm
gonna head up to the gym and do I don't really know what I'm gonna do in
the gym today I think I'm gonna go for a run
today I'm just gonna wear these brown leggings and like blue top
they're both from Halara okay here we are good to go I'm gonna pop my sneakers
on throw my hair up fill my water bottle and we will be
ready for a workout
I spent majority of the day doing laundry which is ridiculous
but I was able to get a workout in in between
all skates and parade got a lot of editing done while I waited for laundry
at back deck and had a salad for dinner
I've gotten ready though because we actually have shore leave this evening
in Ravenna usually we arrive early in the morning
but there's supposed to be bad weather tomorrow so they wanted to make
sure that we arrived safely so we do have shore leave so we're
gonna go out and have a cocktail or something I'm really
excited to be on land at night it sounds really silly but
we're never usually on land at night when we're working on the ship because
we leave the port usually before seven
eight o'clock
