The USS Ford, the first of the US Ford class of aircraft carriers, is the 11th carrier in service in the US Navy.At a cost of about $13 billion, the USS Ford is the most expensive ship ever built by the U.S. Navy.The ship is equipped with advanced technologies, including integrated electric propulsion and electromagnetic ejection, and will be the backbone of the U.S. naval strike force in the 21st century.
On February 7, 2022, Defense News reported that the USS Ford will be deployed for the first time this fall, while the carrier has actually been in service for five years.The USS Ford was commissioned by the Newport News Shipbuilding and Shipyard Company on 11 August 2005, laid down on its keel on 13 November 2009, launched on 9 November 2013, commenced sea trials on 8 April 2017, and was commissioned by the United States Navy on 22 July 2017.

2022年2月7日，美國《防務新聞》稱，“福特”號即將在今年秋季進行首次部署，而這艘航母實際上已經服役5年了。“福特”號航空母艦於2005年8月11日在紐波特紐斯造船及船塢公司開工，2009年11月13日安放龍骨，2013年11月9日正式下水 ，2017年4月8日開始海試，2017年7月22日正式進入美國海軍服役。
