Hello everyone, welcome to Dolly Talk With You. I'm Hanhan from Dolly Dolly.
The 31st Southeast Asian Sports Festival is held in Vietnam, with many events taking place in Hanoi and 12 provinces and cities.
This is also an opportunity to help Vietnam promote images, culture, and tourism to international friends.
In this event, the number of tourists to Vietnam has increased significantly.
Let's follow us to find out how they have their first cultural experience in Vietnam.
And today's main topic is culture shock.
No.
Why?
Very different.
It's so loud here.
Thank you so much for being so friendly and welcoming people to your country.
I'm from Germany.
I'm from America.
I'm from India.
I'm from England.
I'm from Australia, but I live in Bali, Indonesia.
I'm from Slovakia.
I'm traveling around, yes.
Just traveling.
Right now I'm traveling around, but I might move here.
Just traveling, it's a holiday.
Three days.
I arrived on Saturday, so it's been three days.
I've been in Vietnam now for a week and a half.
Originally in Ho Chi Minh City.
I've been in Hanoi since Saturday.
This is my second week.
The people.
You guys are the nicest people in the world.
Seriously.
Thank you.
We were saying the people are really lovely.
Everyone you meet is really funny.
They've also been teaching us loads of Vietnamese as well.
It's been fun.
The food is incredible.
Banh Mi.
Out this world.
And also Happy Water.
Rice wine.
All of that.
I also think that the whole country is very varied.
You can get a lot out of one country.
There's a lot of amazing jungles or forests.
And then you've got the beaches.
The cities are amazing.
There's a lot to see in Vietnam.
And also the history is very interesting to learn about.
Especially from the Western world.
The food.
I really like the food.
Vietnam has great food.
I think Vietnam has really great variety.
The South and the North.
Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi are very different cities.
So you get a very different experience.
Friendly people.
Beautiful architecture.
Colonial heritage.
History.
Coffee.
There are so many beautiful landscapes and views.
So I think this is the most attractive thing to see in Vietnam.
And also Hanoi.
Yeah, very interesting.
No.
Why?
I've been to Ho Chi Minh City.
And we were very very pale.
White skinned at the time.
And everybody was staring.
On the street everyone was staring.
And it was a very busy city.
Bikes everywhere.
Not very similar to England.
At first it was a bit like, wow.
We don't speak the language.
It's so busy.
And hot.
In the summer.
But no.
I think it took about a week to adjust.
And then.
Yeah.
I've been here before.
So I was here six years ago.
And I lived in Asia for one and a half years.
So I know some other countries.
And I kind of know the culture a little bit.
A little bit?
A little bit.
No, because I don't speak Vietnamese.
And I travel by myself.
So I don't really tend to.
But then a lot of Vietnamese people speak English.
I haven't felt anybody be rude here.
And I haven't felt alone here.
It's so loud here.
Like all the cars.
I know it's only Hanoi.
But there are so many.
So many scooters.
And like the rules in traffic are different.
So like.
I don't know how people cannot have any accidents.
But they are just driving a lot.
And it's like.
Oh God.
A lot of interesting rules in traffic.
I probably would say the roads.
The traffic.
Yeah.
Because in England.
You literally just drive.
Very ordered.
Ordered and in line.
It's a bit chaotic.
It's all everywhere.
And anything else?
I think also how friendly the people are.
You get a lot of people talking to you.
Whereas in England.
We don't interact.
People don't talk on the street.
And stuff like that.
Yeah.
The people and the roads.
That's a good question.
Probably the traffic.
But also in America.
Like we spend.
It's common to spend time alone.
And it seems here.
People are always in groups.
Just how safe it is here.
It's so safe.
So safe.
I don't have to worry about.
You know somebody.
Stealing from me.
In America.
I have to worry all the time.
Maybe I see people eat ice cream.
At like 8am.
In the morning.
Like early morning people eat ice cream.
Anything else?
People also drink beer early in the morning.
I like everything.
There's nothing I dislike.
I like everything.
My favorite place to visit in Vietnam.
For us was Hoi An.
We loved Hoi An with the lanterns.
That was really pretty.
And also I went to Phong Nha.
That was amazing.
They're my favorite.
I like spa.
Yeah.
I like the people.
I like the beauty.
I don't like how hot it gets.
It can be very hot.
Yeah.
Thank you so much for being so friendly.
And welcoming people to your country.
It's a great country.
I really love coming here.
I've come here 4 times.
You're great.
Thank you.
And we love you.
Thank you.
We'll be back again.
Definitely.
Thank you.
Can you say some Vietnamese?
Thank you.
Have a nice trip.
Thank you.
