Highlights: FC Saarbrucken - Bayern Munchen | DFB-POKAL 2023/2024

30 years have passed by since they last faced the might of Bayern. Here in the DFB-Pokal tonight, a packed-out occasion to see if they can deliver the ultimate upset. Bayern, the 20-time winners in town. A changed team but deep in quality, currently on a 13-game beaten stretch. Ismuller takes aim and scores. Finding the bottom corner. To perfection, Thomas Müller. And Bayern are off and running here in style. Doesn't often score from outside the area. But he picked his spot here on the opening goal of the night. This is Dimitrij Sanchez with De Ligt for company. Gonna get a corner. Oh, and this doesn't look good for De Ligt. And not what Bayern need ahead of Der Klassiker coming up at the weekend. Having missed so much already this season with injury, De Ligt doesn't look good at all. Here's to Michele Sanchez. It's a bit of thought in the side of Bayern. Ah, great skills, just about keeping it in play. Zane thought it had gone out. Oh, Naifi now. Is this his moment? And Leimer comes across in the nick of time. Bayern living on the edge here. What a moment this could have been for Saarbrücken. Approaching halftime. Leimer wasn't the best of passes into him. And Saarbrücken could be in. It's gonna be Zante Maher. There is the equaliser. A first ever Saarbrücken goal. And what a time to get it. And undone. And it is pure home joy in first half stoppage time. All over the place. We're Bayern here at punished big time. Saarbrücken giving the record winners a fright all right. A team who has gone out in two of the last three seasons at this stage. Here's Zane. Zane taking it on. Hitting it well. And Schreiber right behind it. Leimer. Schuppermutting. It's a fabulous pass to find Zane again. Will we be seeing Harry Kane anytime soon? Kimmich is ball in. Who will it fall to here? Come on! Oh, super save. That's the best of the lot from Schreiber. Absolutely stunning. Kimmich. Combined find the answers. And they're going right at Saarbrücken here. Oh, and it's Müller just wide. Chance after chance after chance. We are deep into stoppage time. Options are waiting. Gauss! Six minutes beyond the 90. Saarbrücken are sending the record winners packing. This will go down as one of the greatest nights. The biggest moment in Marcel Gauss' career. A match winner against Bayern. Now or never for Bayern. Leimer sends it in there. Who will it fall to? It's Gnabry. Oh, bodies. Maybe more in the way. That's it. It's all over. A loan to Saarbrücken. He dumped out Bayern in the DFB-Pokal. In the most dramatic, the most incredible way. A night of pure fairytale for Saarbrücken. Drink it all in. The last 16, here they come.
