The Australian Consulate General in Bali together with the government of the province of Bali
opened a digital installation exhibition titled Walking Through a Songline
on Monday, October 30, 2023.
The installation art exhibition with this immersive technology
is curated by the Australian National Museum together with Monster Studio.
It is part of the international exhibition Songline Striking the 7th Sister.
Songline or Dreaming,
depicts the journey taken by ancestors
when they crossed the land in the story of Dreamtime.
The Australian Consulate General in Bali, Joss Stephen,
revealed that the story also inherits
the practical and cultural values of Australian indigenous people
from generation to generation.
Through this exhibition, she hopes
it can be a source of knowledge for Indonesian and Australian people.
Everyone loves Bali in Australia.
We have very, very close community ties,
Australians and Balinese together.
So, Bali is also the art and cultural center.
So, I think it's only appropriate that we brought the exhibition here.
The Australian Consulate General in Bali added
this exhibition brings visitors to experience a multi-sensory journey
for seven minutes of direct exhibition story.
This exhibition also invites the younger generation to be connected with art.
Because I've never seen anything like that before.
So, it's like, there will be a kind of rain session later.
Later, on the floor, it's also like there's a downpour.
So, it's like there's a downpour. It's really cool.
From Australia, I'm confused because it's the first time I've seen an exhibition.
It's exciting, not bad.
This digital art exhibition is open to the public,
free of charge.
Running from October 27 to November 12, 2023
at Discovery Mall, Kuta, Badung, Bali.
