Welcome back to my channel, Devina Hermawan.
Today, we'll be making Spicy Tofu Martabak. It's simple, easy, savory, and spicy.
You can try this at home as a family snack.
The ingredients are practical. For the wrapper, I'm using spring roll wrappers.
They're usually frozen, but you can also use round spring rolls.
For the filling, you can just use eggs and seasonings. I'm adding tofu, eggs, garlic, shallots, onions, and green onions.
Don't forget the original ABC chili sauce from Cabai Hium Berkualitas.
I'll also use the extra spicy ABC chili sauce from Cabai Hium Berkualitas for the dip.
Slice the garlic and shallots like so.
Slice the onions into small cubes.
Slice the green onions, too.
First, sauté the garlic and shallots until fragrant and slightly browned.
It doesn't have to be completely dry.
Add the onions and green onions. Sauté until wilted. You don't have to wait for the color to change.
Set aside in a large bowl as we'll mix the tofu mixture in the bowl.
I'm using white tofu. If you don't have white tofu, you can use yellow tofu.
Crush the tofu. It's easy as the tofu is soft, so use a fork to crush it.
You don't have to make it too soft. Just like this.
For the other ingredients, combine salt, chicken powder, sugar, and a bit of pepper.
Add the eggs in, too.
Don't forget the original ABC chili sauce. I mentioned Cabai Hium earlier.
The unique spicy taste of ABC chili sauce comes from Cabai Hium Berkualitas...
...that's taken good care of by the farmers in Hium Village, Tapin, South Kalimantan.
This is the secret to the deliciousness of ABC chili sauce...
...so it has the right color and texture for Indonesian palate.
In addition, ABC chili sauce comes in various variants with different levels of spiciness.
So, it's up to you to combine it with various dishes to your liking.
It's not wrong to say that ABC chili sauce has been my and my family's favorite...
...because the spicy flavor is perfect for any dish.
Now, mix everything well.
Prepare the wrapper. I'm using spring roll wrappers. You can buy frozen wrappers, too.
I'm using 2 tbsp of the filling, but you can adjust the amount to your liking.
Fold the wrapper. I put it at the end so when we wrap the spring roll, the top and bottom get two layers.
If we put the tofu mixture in the middle and fold it, the top will have a thick layer...
...while the bottom will only have one layer, so it won't be even.
To fry Martabak Tahu, it's similar to Martabak Telur. After wrapping, we can fry it right away.
We can use medium heat. If the heat is too high, the Martabak won't be cooked.
If the heat is too low, the Martabak will absorb too much oil.
So, as soon as we put it in, you can see the Martabak has to puff up.
That means the heat is enough.
Fry it for 3-4 minutes or until it's golden brown like this.
Again, if the heat is too high, the Martabak will be golden brown but still raw inside.
The Spicy Martabak Tahu is ready to be served.
If you like it really spicy, you can add extra spicy chili for a kick.
It's perfect for a snack, anytime, or even as a side dish.
The texture is interesting. It's crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside but not flat.
There's tofu, onion, and the aroma of the sautéed onion. It's really good.
We can cook and serve it with quality Chabahiung Sambal ABC.
It's perfect for various dishes.
