The Montreal Museum Home to the Archaeological Birthplace of the City

Pointe-à-Callière is Montreal's Museum of Archaeology and History, built directly above several historic sites of national significance, including the city's birthplace. Founded in 1992 as part of the city's 350th Birthday celebrations, the museum is unique in North America and has been honoured with more than 50 international awards in addition to being named a National Historic Site of Canada in 1998, only 6 years after it opened to the public.
