Life's meaning greetings to you all
Welcome everyone to the story of the five great paths of the wise
You speak of the Dao but I believe the Dao is nameless manifesting yet no one in the monastic community can disregard it
If the rulers maintain the Dao all things will naturally submit the heavens and earth will harmonize and the traps will fall down
Today's program "The Meaning of Life " would like to share with you five profound and practical teachings passed down by the sages of old
The book "Chu Dich" by Thượng Thư "Tien Hoc Giai " and "Lu Yu Trung Dung" discusses the Dao of Heaven Earth Humanity Business and Career
We hope to bring you many valuable lessons
Wishing you and your family a prosperous and healthy new year with smooth and favorable circumstances in all things
1 The way of heaven is to repay kindness with kindness
The saying "Heaven's way rewards diligence" is found in the Book of Documents meaning that the way of heaven bestows favor and support upon those who are diligent
This sentence reveals the ultimate truth that diligence and perseverance can change one's life
If you have not succeeded it means your diligent effort has been insufficient
We have observed throughout history that no one has succeeded without diligence
Bill Gates values hard work as he once said
The value of diligence lies in nurturing the fragile seeds of luck
The more diligent you are the more luck you will have
Entering the 17th century Japan faced an economic decline
When global technical terms decrease
Farming is no longer increasing due to primitive techniques and the closed-door policy is stifling trade
Not only the noble's estate but also the local administration found itself in a financial crisis
By the time of Jean Rocu the financial situation of the Treasury had become desperate
The gold and silver assets accumulated by the founder Ieyasu Gawa had run out
Although the Bac Phu court had strictly ordered the re-coinage in 1695
It has somewhat eased the illusion of prosperity but
has not yet pulled Japan out of its economic stagnation
During the reign of Lord Yoshimune the financial foundation of the Shogunate was weakened by excessive spending on public investments
In the face of this financial crisis Lord Yoshimune implemented financial reforms
Known as the Kiyoho Financial Reform it called for the entire country to thoroughly implement savings
This school of thought known as the Ishida School was founded during this period
This was around the middle of the 18th century
Ishida Baigen with his deep knowledge of Shinto
Confucianism and Buddhism founded the Shinto School of Shinto
Emphasizing hard work loving labor and meticulous attention to one's duties making the product a measure of a person's character
Ishida Baigen believed that all professions are a path to self-cultivation and whatever one does is a form of spiritual practice
Therefore the Japanese believe that if one has a proper character they will
certainly work diligently in production Idleness is a waste and leisure is a waste
Teachers advise students to fully concentrate on their work whether it is farming craftsmanship or trading
Like when making a product don't just stop at getting it done
But make sure the product is both practical and also attractive elegant and polite
You must pay attention to what others don't see to
increase the added value even if it's just a very small part
After Baigen's death his school of thought flourished and spread throughout Japan
In the end the national character has profoundly influenced the personality of the Japanese
The traits of being diligent meticulous and detail-oriented have become characteristic of the Japanese people
Thanks to its diligence and relentless efforts Japan has achieved remarkable economic success to this day
According to the IMF's 2021 estimate
Japan is the third largest economy in the world by nominal GDP and the fourth largest by purchasing power parity
Japan is the second-largest economy among developed countries
Japan is also a member of the G7 and G20
There is a saying in the translation field
It means that the way of heaven operates powerfully and thoroughly and the superior person never ceases to perfect themselves
This statement serves as a complement to the saying that heaven's way is to be in harmony
Therefore not only do we need hardworking people but we also need those who are diligent continuously learning and improving their knowledge
When necessity combines with a feasible method the distance to success is shortened
The fate of the bird is written in the stars
Great wealth comes from heaven small wealth comes from diligence
Diligence at least will help people achieve certain accomplishments
In short if one is only concerned with physical aspects and lacks the
necessary effort in developing thinking the path to success remains far away
However to achieve success one must definitely be diligent
Without diligence it is not only difficult to become a small rich person let alone a big rich person
That is the precious teaching of the ancients
The friendly tunnel also known as the harmonious
tunnel originates from Hui in the I Ching
A wise person uses the earth's stability to carry things
Which means the land's nature is wise and stable
A gentleman is like the earth which carries all things with its vastness
The meaning of this saying is to advise people to do two things
Cultivate virtue and perform good deeds
Harmonize with all things and carry all things
Doing good deeds not only elevates others but also improves our own character
Both of these can bring merit that is thick soil
Only with thick soil can one receive corresponding blessings
Therefore this is the path of benevolence
Why must one do good
The Three Character Classic says "At birth human nature is inherently good "
Thus human beings are born with an innate goodness
Therefore choosing a virtuous life is returning to one's natural true nature
rue to the Dharma
The Buddha the enlightened one who taught
Good and evil eventually meet their due reward striving to gain and hold on
That means all good and bad deeds in this world have corresponding consequences
Sow good seeds and reap good fruits sow bad seeds and reap bad fruits
It is indeed determined by the person it may arrive early or late but it will definitely come
The ancient saying also agrees with the Buddha's teachings through this statement
Misfortune and blessings have no door they come from people's own actions
Good and evil bring their own consequences just like a shadow follows a shape
It is said that during the Spring and Autumn period there was a man named Qin Yue Ren who was an innkeeper
Tan Viet Nhan is a very kind person with a generous and compassionate heart
On a bitterly cold winter day Chen Wei Ren saved a man named Zhang Tanjun
This person is highly respected by Tần Việt so not only did he not charge for the lodging but he also provided thorough assistance
When he learned that this person had no place to go Chen Wei Ren kept him at the inn for dozens of years so he could spend his old age in peace
Then it turns out that Truong Tan Quan is a talented physician
Seeing that Qin Viet Nhan was a kind-hearted gentle sincere and hardworking person with an intelligent nature
The traditional medicine doctor Truong Tan Quan decided to pass on his medical skills
Thanks to his teacher's careful instruction combined with his own dedication and intelligence
Tan Viet Nhan has fully switched to the medical profession and become a renowned physician who has helped many people
The people of the State of Zhao bestowed upon him the title of Master Biển Thước
Biển Thước refers to the name of a divine physician who lived during the time of the Emperor
Afterwards Master Bieu Thuc taught the art of medicine to many students
He became renowned throughout the land of China when he correctly diagnosed the illness of King Huan of Qi
He cured the king of Qin Wu Wang and argued against the execution of Prince Huang Sheng for Prince Nüe Guo
Master Bie Thuc has left the world the inner and outer sutras of the sea and the sutra of calamity
He is credited with establishing the pulse-taking method laying a crucial foundation for traditional Chinese medicine
Thus Chen Wei Ren learned the medical profession because of his kind nature to help the mourning school
Tần Việt Nhân because of his kindness and his efforts to heal and help
many people in the world was respected and honored by all as Master Biển Thước
It was not a miracle that fell from the sky but rather the result of his kind heart
3 Humanistic Enemy City
Humanistic Enemy City originates from the Book of Changes and the Doctrine of the Mean
In the Zhouyi it is written: "There is the way of heaven and there is the way of
humanity " meaning that where there is the way of heaven there is also the way of humanity
The Extended Book of the Mean expands the human way
through the statement: "The way of a person is sincerity "
Why is sincerity the way of a person
If you had the choice would you prefer a sincere partner or a deceitful one
Between a true friend and a deceitful one whom would you choose
Under the same conditions you would choose to cooperate with a sincere partner
Always be honest and accompany you or a reputable partner on the long journey
Life's challenges from family to friends and business
require choosing sincere people to accompany you
To recognize a sincere person we must consider whether what they do corresponds with what they say
Do they keep their promises
Does what they do come from a sincere and genuine heart
Sometimes in life there are situations where it's impossible to distinguish truth from falsehood with the naked eye
There are cases where sincere people are misunderstood such as the case of Nhang Hoi
Nhang Hồi was a renowned disciple known for his high moral standards and was trusted by Confucius
Once Confucius and his disciples traveled to the state of Qi during a time of great turmoil
The teachers and students barely make ends meet hunger is a daily occurrence
But there was a man from the state of Qi who respected Confucius's morality and talent and gave him some rice
Confucius assigned Hui to cook rice while the other students helped with tasks such as gathering vegetables and fetching water
When the mandarin was reading a book he suddenly heard a noise
Looking over to the kitchen he saw Nhang Hoi holding rice glancing left and right before putting it in his mouth to eat
Confucius was surprised and saddened to find out that his beloved student had secretly eaten rice in such a manner
When the rice was cooked Confucius wanted to ask his disciples whether it was appropriate to offer the rice before eating it
The students praised him but only Nhang Hồi spoke against it
Confucius asked the reason and Nhang Hồi replied
Yes when the rice is done I lift the lid to check if the rice is cooked evenly
A gust of wind might come in causing soot and dust from the ceiling to fall into the rice cooker
He tried to quickly put the lid back on but was too late
Then I immediately scattered the dirty rice intending to throw it away but then thought that the rice was scarce and there were many of us
If you remove this layer of dirty rice you are effectively losing a part of the meal
You all must eat less
So I asked the teacher and all the brothers to eat the dirty rice first and the clean rice for the teacher's people and all the brothers
Dear teacher that means I have already eaten rice today
Now I would like to ask not to eat rice anymore
I will only eat the vegetables
And teacher once the rice has been eaten should it still be offered in worship
Confucius upon hearing this looked up to the sky and sighed
Hello it seems that in this world there are things that one sees with one's own eyes clearly but still cannot understand the true nature of
This Confucian scholar almost became a fool
Although he died young at the age of 31
But the sincerity righteousness and complete virtue of his character are still praised today
Later generations posthumously honored him as Nguyen Quoc Cong
Ritually harmonizing with Confucius during sacrifices and being honored as a Reviver of the Sage
According to the Buddha there are five points by which one can recognize an unrighteous person
It's funny but not laughing joyful but not joyful
having a compassionate mind but not having a compassionate mind
Doing evil without shame ignoring good advice
this person is not one of us
Similarly the Buddha taught that there are five points to identify a true
and noble person Laugh when it is appropriate rejoice when it is appropriate
When one's mind is kind it
is kind when one is ashamed it
is ashamed when one hears good advice one pays attention
One should know that this person is in the main group resides
in the main group therefore these monks should learn this
With these teachings to evaluate a person according to the Buddha one
must not only look at their external
appearance but also their inner self
Lao Tzu also agrees with the Buddha's view therefore he teaches
that if you look into your own
mind you will see all the answers
The meaning of life is to distinguish
between right and wrong to
remind oneself always to take the
right path as a guiding principle
To correct oneself and to follow the right path one
must avoid allowing oneself to be harmed by unrighteous things
Although for those who are lost and astray we should use a compassionate
heart to provide them with the opportunity to correct themselves
To distance oneself from the dark path and embrace the righteous path
Sincerity is the fastest way to reach the righteous path
Being sincere means treating everyone with your heart
Sincerity is therefore the way of being a person
Kindness towards others is always rewarded
If not now then later
If not this life there are still many more lives to come
Our ancestors summarized it in a concise saying that
Honesty is the devil's father
Nothing is precious respected or enduring
But sincerity brings more benefits
4 Revenge is the way of the merchant
The concept of revenge originates from the Analects
without trust the people cannot stand
Meaning people who do not believe in it
Then one cannot establish a position in society
A merchant who is sincere in business
then everywhere one gains benefits
Before becoming the chairman of the Hyundai Group Mr Chung Dong-wook had a
youthful morning filled with hardships

also eagerly helps the boss keep track of records

this the main path means that
