On October 1, 2021, after 4 months, the city of Ho Chi Minh separated, blocked and suspended all activities.
Since yesterday afternoon, many people in the Western provinces have lined up, pulled each other out of the alley and went to the West.
Through Binh Chanh district, adjacent to Long An province, a group of people flocked together to return home.
Welcome to the podcast channel of Thanh Hai today.
In today's program, Thanh Hai would like to share with you my thoughts on very special experiences when the city of Ho Chi Minh has gone through very complicated months of pandemic.
I had very special feelings and I managed to write it down in the book Transition between the heart and the mind.
Now, let's listen to a passage that Thanh Hai wrote about feelings in early October 2021.
I wish you a relaxing time and listening to the podcast is really meaningful.
Today, October 1, when I was writing these lines, I was really sleepless.
After waiting in line, they set up barricades to prevent the rush of people from leaving the city when the city just opened.
The city government of Ho Chi Minh wants to help them stay.
The relief package has also been issued, but it still cannot prevent the crowd of people in the provinces from returning to their hometowns.
In Cuong Ngo on the east side of the city, a few days after the city lifted the blockade,
each group of people pulled each other back to their hometown on motorbikes.
Adults, children, old people, motorbikes pulled each other out of the city and returned to their hometowns.
They can't stay in the city, leaving the city and returning to their hometowns is the opposite of the trend for many years.
Before, people went to the city to find work, and now they leave the city and return to their hometowns, hoping for a peaceful life.
Returning to their hometowns, they now have a family, vegetables, rice, a house to live in, a garden to plant trees.
And the bustling city of Saigon has now become desolate after many months of being in the middle of a pandemic.
Workers, people in their hometowns, they know what to do to live, to pay the rent, send their children somewhere to work.
When schools are still closed indefinitely, those who leave their hometowns to work in the city and leave this place are like me.
But at least I still have a house to live in, a job to do, income to make a living, health and safety.
There are organizations that cover for me to have a job to make a living,
even if the salary during the pandemic is not enough to raise half of my children, not enough to pay the cost.
But at least I still have a house to avoid the rain and the sun.
And they, the pandemic is complicated, there is no more work, where to get income to support the family.
They still have to worry about the cost of paying the rent, raising children and living expenses.
Everything is a cost.
The source of income is no longer there, or not enough, or too low.
They will have to live later.
Finally, they choose to wander the desolate alleys,
go through the middle of the night to bring food,
take their children with the elderly, the elderly.
They wander back to their hometown.
They go back to their hometown because the pandemic is still extremely dangerous
and stops anyone, anytime.
They must change when they want to overcome themselves.
They learn to doubt or choose to conform to the reality of the situation they are facing in the new normal stage.
Saigon, the city of Ho Chi Minh City, was once the capital of Vietnam.
After 1975, it changed its name to Ho Chi Minh City.
Although 2021 has passed with the heavy weight of the struggle against the pandemic that has never existed in human history.
Although there was a time when people said that Saigon was really sick.
At that time, people were stuck in the middle of the pandemic, when everything seemed to have to stop.
I decided to write this book as a gift for anyone who needs a stimulus for change.
The change between the epidemic is the change of mind, is the change from the inside.
