Luca Marini, the driver of the VR46 Racing team managed to secure the pole position
or the best position for the sprint race and the main race of MotoGP Mandalika.
That was thanks to the fastest time record in the qualification session on Saturday, 14 October,
at the Mandalika Lompok circuit, which is 1 minute 29.978 seconds.
The son of the legend of the Grand Prix, Valentino Rossi,
admitted that he is more confident today with a more balanced motor condition than yesterday.
It was proven from the results of the training session on Friday, 13 October, which was in the 12th place.
A period now that I feel really comfortable with the bike, I'm so strong, so fast,
but every time there is a problem, like yesterday in FP2.
But yesterday evening we understood the problems, we fixed it,
and in the morning the bike was very good, I had a very good feeling with the tyres,
and it was a pleasure to ride here in this beautiful track,
so I'm really satisfied about the job that we have done.
Meanwhile, the two riders of the Aprilia team, Maverick Vinales and Alex Espargaro,
consistently in the top three.
Vinales recorded the time at 1 minute 30.009 seconds, placing second,
and Espargaro in third, with a narrow gap of 1 minute 30.132 seconds.
As many as 21 MotoGP riders will race in the sprint race on Saturday afternoon,
and the main race on Sunday afternoon.
There was also Alex Marquez, who was following the free practice session on Friday,
announcing his retirement from MotoGP Mandalika due to an injury he suffered.
