Where is the strongest person in the world?
There is a saying,
If you don't have desire, you will be strong.
If a person has little desire,
his heart will be at ease,
his character will be like a palm tree,
even if the dark clouds surround him,
even if the storm surrounds him,
he will still stand straight in the world
without falling.
That is why it is said that
the strongest person is the one who has no desire.
Confucius talked about desire.
In the text,
there is a story like this.
One day,
when Confucius was teaching
his disciples,
he said,
I have never met a strong person
who has no desire.
There was a disciple who answered,
If we talk about a strong person,
it must be Confucius.
Confucius heard this and said,
Confucius is a person full of desire.
How can he be strong?
Confucius' disciples thought that
people like Confucius,
Thân Tranh,
are all strong people,
especially Thân Tranh.
Although he was still very young,
every time he argued with other people,
it was not easy for him to give in.
Even if he was facing the head of the tribe
or the leader of the tribe,
Thân Tranh did not back down
and always showed his strong,
tough side.
Therefore, when people met him,
they all admired Thân Tranh.
In fact, Confucius denied Thân Tranh
as a person full of desire,
not because he was greedy
for money.
To put it simply,
when he did not show his right or wrong side,
he immediately competed with others.
If he had the will to surpass others,
he was considered a coward.
Thân Tranh,
although he had a strong personality,
always fought hard,
won,
often acted emotionally,
this was also a kind of temptation.
As for Tử Lộ,
he was also a famous disciple of Confucius,
considered straight and brave by people.
But according to Confucius,
Tử Lộ was just a coward,
not really strong.
In fact, people are strong
physically and mentally,
but the real strong
is not physically,
but mentally.
Strong mentally,
showing in the right place,
but not far away,
looking like a mirror,
showing loyalty,
showing perseverance,
not taking his money,
not changing his direction and morality.
What Confucius called strong
was not about being strong,
winning, showing off,
but a kind of self-restraint kung fu.
Being able to restrain
oneself,
being in any situation,
will not violate the natural law.
Moreover, before and after,
it is not easy to change,
so a little hope
is considered strong.
The conversation of Khang Hy and Ly Vệ
Emperor Khang Hy
once asked Ly Vệ,
a famous official of Thanh,
if Khanh was given the command
to govern a poor district,
could Khanh govern it?
Ly Vệ replied,
God willing.
Emperor Khang Hy asked again,
if Khanh was given 50 million silver,
would Khanh guarantee
to use all that silver for the people?
Ly Vệ replied,
God willing.
Emperor Khang Hy asked again,
what did Khanh rely on
to say that he could?
Ly Vệ replied,
because basically God did not want to be an official.
Ly Vệ's words were concise,
so he could work wholeheartedly
for the people.
This is also what the ancients
said,
no shame,
no shame here in reality
is not having self-esteem.
Because of not having self-esteem,
so Ly Vệ did not take the money
as the purpose of his official career.
Also because of not having self-esteem,
so Ly Vệ could keep himself
strict,
answer the emperor so firmly.
A person,
when he does not have self-esteem,
his quality will become beautiful.
When there is little self-esteem,
a person will have a strong will
and wisdom will be revealed.
When he is not dominated by
love,
a person will be able to find the direction
in his passion.
This state also makes a person always rational
in all feelings,
and maintain a calm attitude,
not to lose oneself.
