Former IRS contractor Charles Littlejohn pleaded guilty on Thursday to one count of unauthorized disclosure of tax returns and return information of former President Donald Trump. The count carries up to five years in prison. President Trump’s attorney Alina Habba responded to the matter, and told reporters, “That looks more like a Hunter Biden plea deal.”

First, I want to say that I appreciate Judge Reyes and her comments.
I am often a critic of any court where I feel that political motivation or bias is brought
in.
It was very clear that this judge does her job, takes it seriously, and also takes the
privacy rights of Americans very seriously, which is rare these days and something we
need this country to get back to.
Aside from that, you heard my statement inside.
What Mr. Littlejohn did, I do not believe he did alone.
There is no way some 30-some-year-old individual got the president's tax returns out of a vault
at the IRS.
Somebody who worked for Booz Allen Hamilton, who obviously hires CIA agents, assets, including
Edward Snowden, got the president's returns and released his alone and separate and apart
from the thousands of other victims of this man right before an election.
That is election interference, it is inappropriate, and as Judge Reyes astutely said, we have
no time for it in this country, there is no place for it, it is wrong, and unless we want
to be a third-world country and end up like some of the atrocities that are happening
right now in the world, we need to stop this now and allow the justice system to work the
way it's supposed to work and the laws to be respected by the people that should be
respecting them, especially government agencies.
Thank you.
You said in court that you would oppose this plea deal.
Do you believe that Mr. Littlejohn has been underprosecuted or undercharged?
I think it's very telling when you get Littlejohn's, Mr. Littlejohn's indictment and it's one page,
no facts are in it, but then if you're President Trump, you have, you know, 91 charges against
you for effectively nothing that he could not have done, he had a Presidential Records
Act, in one case that could go on and on and on, but when you see how differently people
are treated, it's wrong, and there's no place for it.
One felony count for releasing a sitting President's and candidates' tax returns months
before an election to the New York Times, we just learned that inside, and then releasing
thousands of other people's tax returns a year later, there's no place for that, and
this guy has one felony charge with a maximum of five years.
Let's see if he gets that maximum, but I'll tell you right now, if his last name was Trump,
that would not look like that.
That would look more like a Hunter Biden plea deal, if you ask me.
Judge Reyes left the door open for former President Trump to make a statement during
sentencing in the future, do you think he'll take her up on that opportunity?
I would love to be here, I'm sure he would love to be here, I know right now he's focused
on a million other things, including Israel, which, you know, he's trying to do what he
can to help that.
Unfortunately, as you know, we are tied up in endless, meaningless litigation, because
he is a candidate, because he is a front-running candidate, and that is all by design, but
I know President Trump wanted to be here, I spoke with him right before I came, we'll
try our best to be here, we think this is a really serious matter that the world needs
to hear about, and we need to make sure it never happens again.
