Today's episode is going to be about Samba Matsuri, a huge Brazilian festival in Asakusa in Tokyo.
It's incredibly popular and I've heard about it for years and I've been dying to go, so I finally got a chance to go.
So for those of you who don't know, Brazil is supposed to have, or I've heard, that Brazil has the largest
population of Japanese people outside of Japan.
And I actually do know a couple Japanese people who live in Brazil, so that's really cool.
Samba Matsuri
attracts, it's supposed to attract about half a million people. And Samba Matsuri is a team competition and each team has a theme.
So there were, I didn't even understand a lot of the themes.
But now I'm just gonna go through my highlights for the festival. Number one was Asian Indiana Jones.
And for anyone who ever went into my dorm room in any of my boarding schools or in college,
knows that I have this huge picture of Indiana Jones because I have the biggest crush on him. Like celebrity crush.
Mostly in the first three movies, but I mean, he's kind of also an attractive old grandpa.
So like, I don't know. I don't know. I keep begging Ryosuke to dress up as Indiana Jones for Halloween.
So like, I was close enough. I don't know. Okay, number two is just the fact that everything was super themed.
They just went crazy. I just, yeah.
Number three was one of the themes, which were these girls that had these
cartoony fake boobs that were like
literally three or four times the size of their face.
It just...
Why? And then the last one, of course,
was the sheer number of really, really perverted old men or young men,
just perverted men, with their little video cameras who were just zooming in on where...
They weren't even ashamed of the fact that they were just there and only taking pictures of the
butt and boobs of women wearing bikinis. Like, I don't know. I didn't expect that. For whatever reason, I really just didn't expect that.
Anyways, I'm sure you're tired of me talking, so let's just move along to the video.
So I hope you had fun watching, and if you got to go to Sanpo Matsuri, what was your favorite part?
What were your favorite themes? I didn't get to catch the whole festival, so
yeah, poor me.
And other than that, if you have any comments or questions, just leave them in the comment section below and I will get on those.
Cool. Thanks. Bye!
