Apple cider vinegar Are there many flies around your fruit bowl?
Use this tip to scare them off.
You'll need 100 ml of apple cider vinegar, one bowl with a lid.
Heat the apple cider vinegar in a pan.
Make several holes on the bowl's lid, where the flies can go through.
Fill the bowl with hot cider, close the lid, and place it where the flies usually go.
Within 24 hours, you'll start noticing the effects.
Lavender essential oil Lavender essential oil is great and can be
used to heal mosquito bites and for flea, fly, beetle, and aphid repellent.
Take note of the ingredients for this recipe.
200 ml of lavender essential oil, 1 iron box with a cover, 1 cloth or sponge.
Dip the cloth or sponge in the lavender essential oil and put it inside the iron box.
Close it and wait for 24 hours.
Remember to dip the cloth in the essential oil from time to time.
Keep the cover open so the flies are attracted to the oil.
Clove Did you know that clove does not smell good
to flies?
Apparently, the good scent we smell keeps them away from this small spice.
You'll have to cut two lemons in half.
Press 6 to 12 cloves in each half of the lemons.
Arrange the lemon halves on a plate and put them where the flies usually are.
Water, alcohol, and rue Get 1 liter of water, 1 cup or 250 ml of
alcohol, and 100 grams of fresh rue.
Mix them in a blender for a minute.
Strain and store it in a sprinkler.
Spray the mixture around the house in the late afternoon.
This natural insecticide can also be applied on the floor or in the sink to keep ants away.
Milk, sugar, and pepper trap This is an old English recipe.
First, you'll need half a liter of milk, 2 tablespoons of sugar, the darker the better
since it attracts flies, and 4 tablespoons of black pepper powder.
Cook the ingredients all mixed together on low heat for 15 minutes.
Pour it onto flat plates and put them around the house.
After some time, you'll notice that the flies were attracted by the trap.
Aromatic plants Another great tip used in Mediterranean countries
is having on the kitchen windows and doors aromatic plants like lavenders, sage, rosemary,
thyme, basil, oregano, chrysanthemums, and rue, which by themselves repel flies and
mosquitoes due to their strong aromatic oils.
This solution is very practical and useful to do at home.
