Ed Sheeran's dead set on planning for his future, like digging his own grave at his
home.
There's beauty when it's bleak.
He breaks it down in a chat with GQ, pointing out that, no, it's not a crypt like some
have labeled it.
I'm just living life and having experiences and I'm open about it, therefore honest, being
myself.
Fans have also dubbed Ed's sprawling estate in Suffolk, England, Sheeranville.
It's definitely like a cloak of invisibility that falls over you when you come to Suffolk.
The $5 million property includes a lake, recording studio, and, yeah, a chapel where
Ed has a grave plot set aside for himself for after he dies.
Ed tells the mag, it's a hole dug in the ground with a bit of stone over it, so whenever the
day comes and I pass away, I get to go there.

The 32-year-old opening up about his hometown in his Disney Plus docuseries, The Sum of
It All.
Being here and being able to just be present, help and work is, yeah, I think the golden
ticket.
I cannot stress how unusual it is to have Ed's at home for a long period of time.
The intimate look at Ed's life featured plenty of heavy subjects.
Suddenly my best friend Jamal dies.
In addition to losing a close friend last year, Ed was also supporting his wife, Cherry,
who learned she had a tumor while pregnant with her second child.
We had the diagnosis of the tumor and the day after, Ed went down into the basement
and wrote seven songs in like, what, four hours maybe it was?
Yeah.
It was like Ed's, I guess his way of, you know, everyone, well not everyone, but people
write a diary and get their emotions out through the pen and for Ed it's, if something really
intense happens to him, he will go and write songs.
I'm going to have to remember the words now.
I know I'm in a position now where people know me and people listen to my music, people
come to concerts, but like, if you strip it all back and just have me as a musician and
a songwriter, that's the moment that you look for, not everything else.
It's like the real, real moment.
Now with the release of his seventh studio album, Autumn Variations, Ed's also been celebrating
a positive update about Cherry's health.
And it all looks, it all looks good.
Lymph nodes are all calmed down and everything.
So like, all great news and heading into a year where hopefully it's all good news.
