Multiple people rescued from riptide in Spring Lake, N.J. police say

Eight people were rescued on October 3, 2023 from dangerous rip currents by Spring Lake Police officers at two borough beaches. All of the people rescued were treated at the scene, except for one swimmer who was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. "It is extremely dangerous to swim in unprotected waters, especially with the rough conditions we are currently experiencing," police said in a statement.
