All right, the adventure is starting. We are at Bjørnø nature reserve.
Part one of our adventure, a short walk to a beach. Are you guys excited?
Yeah.
Yeah, let's go.
We're not even all the way up.
There's a better view.
All right, are we ready for phase two? Yeah. The hike to the campsite.
Oh, I didn't know that this was here.
Here's the green patch, dad.
What are we doing now?
Cooking.
10,000 steps.
That wasn't a great idea.
What were you thinking?
Can he get up?
Watch out for the water.
How are we doing?
We made it.
Well done, boys.
Oh yeah, you collected a friend.
What is it?
It's a dragonfly.
Now begins phase three.
What's phase three?
Putting the tent out and getting...
Getting the whole site set up.
Yep.
Tent all set up.
Let's go take a look inside.
For our room.
For our shoes.
Good morning.
Perfectly set up.
Breakfast.
It's time for dinner.
I hope not.
Now it's phase four.
Hike number two.
Without all the packing.
We're going to eat dinner by the lookout tower.
Let's see if we can find it
and eat and get back
before nightfall
so we can have some marshmallows
and hang in the tent.
Let's see.
Seagulls!
There are seagulls here.
Watch out, they're swinging.
Should I open this?
Yes.
Half.
And one more half.
One.
And.
Stir first.
And the piece de résistance.
Salad.
Plucked from our garden.
A little pre-dinner salad.
How does it taste?
How are our packages coming?
We got a lasagna.
Lasagna.
And three cheese mac and cheese.
Three cheese mac and cheese.
Because you can't have mac and cheese with just one cheese.
That's just silly.
That's just mac and cheese.
Charlie is working on a stick
for the marshmallows later.
Look how beautiful.
And your macaroni and cheese?
Yeah.
We're going in for the night.
Going in for the night.
This camera makes it look bright,
but it's actually much darker.
It's 10 o'clock.
Isn't it?
9.30.
9.30, okay.
Ready to watch a movie?
Yeah.
Cozy.
Good night.
Good morning, and welcome
to phase eight, breakfast.
We'll use the storm kitchen
and our toast machine
to make some toast.
Then we'll cook some eggs
or fry them if we want.
We have some juice here.
We've got some butter
and some salt.
We can do the dishes there.
We've got some utensils.
We've got some bathroom
break material.
We've got some tunes.
We've got our water.
We're all ready.
Alright, put the bread there.
Now we just wait a little.
How is it?
Super good.
Okay, the first egg.
Perfect.
Due to uneven cooking,
it's going to be scrambled eggs.
Well, that's just as good.
Scrambled egg
macka
coming up.
Impressive.
A little earth salt, maybe?
Yes, please.
What are you guys doing over there?
It sounds like you're peeing.
I'm doing the dishes.
Doing the dishes.
Yes, two kinds of
eggs being prepared here.
We couldn't agree.
Charlie wants a cooked egg.
Boiled egg, in English.
We have the most big brains ever.
We use the cup to
hold the salt as an egg
cup holder.
Put the salt in the lid and move your hand, Charlie.
The egg fits perfectly in the
container. Life hack.
Genius campers.
One more genius hack.
Here we've got the bowl with the egg in.
But we want to pour
out all the water without the egg
falling out. So we put the lid on.
And that pours
out the water.
But the egg won't fall out.
You know what would have been even more
smart? Pouring the water out
a little bit further away from where we're walking
so it doesn't get muddy.
Muddy puddles.
Here's your time
to pack up.
Charlie's taking apart
the tent on his own.
Now over to phase 10.
The hike home.
Alright boys, say goodbye to our campsite.
Goodbye tent spot.
Goodbye evening
hang and breakfast spot.
Now, the 4
kilometer hike back.
I actually lied yesterday.
It's like 3.7.
Ahh!
How's
phase 10 going? Exhausting.
Now we just started.
1, 2, 3.
I'm ready.
From the trees in our backyard.
We made it! Already back?
Did it feel shorter on the way home?
Yeah. Like 5 minutes.
We made it back to the car.
What did you think of the camping trip?
Super fun.
Amazing. Would you do it again?
Yeah. A thousand times.
Except just
a little lighter bags.
Okay. So what
should we bring less of? Food?
Or supplies? Who's going to go
without a sleeping bag next time?
Bye!
