Stunning AFTERNOON TEA at Savoy - Best Afternoon Tea in London

Hi guys, this is Steve from Time To Dessert. Today we are going to experience yet another traditional afternoon tea, this time at the Savoy. It has pretty positive reviews on the internet and it's regularly being mentioned amongst the best traditional afternoon teas in London. I'm expecting the quality of the food to be excellent and the main distinguishing factors from other traditional afternoon teas we already tried, like the Ritz or the Claridge's, to be mainly the interior of the Thames Foyer restaurant, service and in general the atmosphere of the afternoon tea. The Savoy is a luxury hotel located in the Strand in the city of Westminster in central London. Hotel opened on 6th of August 1889 and was the first luxury hotel in Britain, so it's no surprise that its afternoon tea is suitably traditional and is an enduring custom that has been a feature of the hotel since it opened. The Savoy's afternoon tea can be enjoyed in the Thames Foyer, the heart of the Savoy, where the stunning glass dome floods the room with a natural light. The room is very spacious and allows enough privacy for each table. This, in combination with the sound of melodious piano, makes a perfect afternoon tea atmosphere. It is truly relaxing and my wife and myself enjoyed it a lot. The Savoy's afternoon tea menu offers all the traditional afternoon and high tea favorites. A great selection of teas served with finger sandwiches, homemade scones with clotted cream, jam and lemon curd. Finished with a range of delicate and imaginative pastries and signature cakes that are handcrafted each morning and are as delicious as they are beautiful. All this is created by the Savoy's executive pastry chef Daniel Parris, who apparently has a true passion for desserts. I think we could definitely be good friends. Anyway, I could instantly see that pastry chef loves desserts because cakes were one of the best I had from all afternoon teas I tried so far and made a stunning finish to already amazing experience. Also, I shouldn't forget to mention that in addition to Savoy's classic traditional afternoon tea and high tea, they also offer a vegan afternoon tea and a vegetarian afternoon tea. So I actually mentioned to them that we are kind of celebrating the thousand subscribers of my channel with this afternoon tea experience.
