Are you already on Wikisana?
I welcome you again in our format, the meaning of life.
Nice to have you back.
And today we want to talk about the topic of spiritual healing.
And how do I know if I am able to achieve spiritual healing?
I have a special guest with me today.
Darrell Combs is with me.
He is a medical doctor, trauma specialist and international speaker.
He even wrote a doctoral thesis on indigenous health and trauma psychology.
Stay tuned, it will be interesting.
I'm looking forward to meeting you.
Welcome, dear Darrell.
Nice to have you back and taking the time for us.
Thank you for having me.
It's nice that you bring the indigenous culture, the indigenous wisdom and the thought with you in our broadcast format.
Now we are talking about spiritual healing in our conversation.
Or spiritual healing, whatever.
Many people may think that this is just a story for very special people who have noticed it on the way.
I am more or less of the opinion that everyone can do it.
How do you see it?
From your indigenous tradition, would you say that this gift is in everyone?
If we see that a world is made of energy and we are energetic beings.
That means there is a physical energy like ice.
And this physical form, when it heats up, will take on another form.
It becomes liquid.
When it heats up even more, the energy swings faster, it becomes a gas.
When we get higher and higher in these vibrations, then there are several frequencies.
The energy types also change.
And as energetic beings, each of us moves in energetic worlds and can apply energetic medicine or healing.
It's very easy, it's instinctive, it has something to do with each of us.
Like in other arts, there are people with gifts and talent.
Someone who is super good at a sport, light athletics or whatever.
They can sprint super well.
Everyone can run, almost everyone.
But those with gifts and talent can be extra fast.
And they still train even deeper and more precisely to perfect their talents and gifts.
It's similar with healers and healing gifts.
Everyone can do it and there are techniques and things that everyone can learn from us in everyday life.
And there are certain people in every society, in every community, who are called for healing work.
As shamans, if I may use this term, I prefer to call them traditional healers.
They are the bridges between spaces.
They are the mediators between this people and this people.
Between this family member and this family member.
Between this person and his field where his vegetables grow.
Between this group and spirits.
Between this person and this group and God.
Light beings, angels, whatever.
There are people who are channels, who really have talent and gifts.
And in this interview I thought it would be a good opportunity to research this a bit.
Each of us often feels these intuitive experiences.
There is more.
This flow state.
And as a child I can remember that I had this feeling,
even when I was two or three years old, that I was eternally old,
this silence, that I was more than this body, this time, this moment.
I somehow brought these memories with me.
And there were moments of seeing and feeling, of spirits and energies.
The space was full, the nature was full.
And then at some point it falls, because it was not supported in school.
My other colleagues at school did not see it, did not perceive it.
And then I got scolding.
And then I closed this gift for a while.
Because it was not supported.
May I ask briefly, how was it with your parents? Did they support it or not?
I grew up in a very Christian tradition.
My father was a priest in the church.
And so I am in the church every Sunday.
And it was a very important part of our life.
But the understanding for spirit, for energy, was not there.
We did not understand this.
In the evangelical church there is Jesus, possibly a little bit from the angels,
but it is not talked about what else there is for spiritual realities and dimensions.
Spirits in general.
Yes, I also have the feeling that you shift the power somewhere else in Christian faith.
Actually not at all.
But well, yes.
So you said that it was not supported in school.
And then you turned off the abilities for yourself.
Yes, yes, yes.
But then the gift really wanted to get out.
So I had a feeling for a long time that if I did not belong.
I did not belong to the church, I did not belong to the Indian cultures,
where I grew up, neither.
I was kind of in between.
And we often feel like black sheep.
As healers.
Different.
And we often become with the label, you are different.
And misunderstood.
And not to be understood.
So that is often a sign that you are on the edge of a society.
And that's not bad.
This is often evaluated.
Ah, they are weird, eccentric, they are like others, crooked, I don't know.
But it is not.
This is actually a very, very valuable role in a community.
Because they can create a meta-level, a perspective of the whole.
They get a little distance.
They do not perceive everything as it is.
But they question everything.
Is it really everything that exists?
Is reality real?
So that's another sign of this call.
Another call is to question again and again through this distance.
In spiritual cultures, in Christian cultures, in mystical cultures, in Asian, indigenous peoples, everywhere.
These priests, these spiritually called people and healers,
they will often spend time alone.
In a cave, in a church, in a small room.
They will use this distance for a while.
Alone in nature or wherever.
To feel a deeper certainty.
It is bigger than a society.
Enormous.
Because of this, they open up resources.
They come into contact with God's love, with a great love.
The big love.
With the source.
And it flows inside through everything.
But how do we find it when we are distracted in the whole?
So in the spiritual healing, in this call that we feel,
to be a spiritual healer, to work together with collective fields.
It's not just me doing something, I'm the hero and bam, bam, bam.
Like Rambo.
But okay, where is my team of allies?
My spirits, who have different perspectives on a situation.
They can create certain perspectives on that.
Shamans, indigenous medicine men and women, spend years
to build these relationships with allies.
So a pipe that is connected to certain traditions,
to certain places, to certain spirits,
is cleaned, the relationship is cleaned,
so that in the healing work, these traditions,
these spirits come along in the field.
I have eagle maize, a very, very holy maize,
which is almost extinct from the Pawnees.
And it was saved with a few grains.
And now it has found its way to Europe.
This is a spiritual maize, which was used in rituals.
And it makes these little eagle shapes there.
This shows how strong resilience can be
in the collaboration with plants, with our food,
with these medicines, herbs.
So allies can come through plants, through medicine.
Allies can come through spirits, through ancestors,
through light beings, through a variety,
such a variety of species and beings.
It's incredible.
And it's targeted, depending on the work, depending on the gift.
And so in the healing work, we learn to see systems completely.
If someone comes and lies on the table and is touched,
then as a healer, my system merges with the system,
with the other person at the table.
I feel and feel, through a very empathic relationship,
the pain they have.
I can leave the pain with them,
or I can feel it in me and transform it.
Depending on what kind of gift someone has.
Does that have anything to do with you as the one who is currently healing?
It does have something to do with me.
It's the trauma, to experience this pain,
to experience it and to experience it,
is of course not a nice thing.
But it's part of this kind of healing.
And through this catching, transforming, giving back,
a cycle is created.
For others, it's not about taking it all.
There are high sensitives,
who are super empathic,
but they don't have the gift under control.
They are overrated quickly.
Limits are exceeded.
And I say, these are healing gifts.
But then we learn how to deal,
how to close, how to open.
Consciously.
And what you leave and touch,
here and stay there,
or what you let in.
And this is a gift, a skill that you can learn,
also with us in the training,
for this healing training.
It's a very important task.
So, in the touch,
I connect with myself,
I connect with the place,
as an inhabitant, the country where I am.
It is a part of the process.
I integrate, I build in,
what is in the process.
The person himself,
but not only the physical body,
from some kind of motor,
with mechanisms,
but as a holistic person,
is a part of the healing process.
And then I touch this little system of the person,
and connect it with the immune system of nature,
the immune system of God,
the creator,
the great love,
the healing powers that flow in and through us,
even from other realities and dimensions,
if we want to put it that way.
This field is spread out,
and in this field, in this lightning cable,
this pillar,
then spirits come,
several sometimes,
and put their hands on it.
So the healer is never alone in this,
but, as you say,
as a lightning cable,
or as a medium,
and many others are integrated,
and thus the burden is distributed,
the individual who is treated,
on many shoulders, isn't it?
Yes, we come into a biosphere.
Very nice.
Yes.
Healing can take place in a biosphere.
Did I interrupt you?
You said that many put their hands on it,
which are integrated.
There is a space that is timeless.
So time and space are connected to each other.
And when we come into a timeless space,
then we jump over physical laws,
because this physical level is connected to space-time.
And when we come into this magical moment,
where we feel eternity,
this vastness,
these luminous spaces,
then we jump over the physical laws
for a short moment,
because this window is opened.
Then other laws arise,
other balances arise,
other intelligences,
including the intelligence of the person,
the healing powers there.
The body, the person,
knows what it needs.
It is self-regulating.
So it is not a zapping of information
and a boom,
I shoot you with laser eyes,
something like that,
I don't know.
It is not an overwhelming of something,
in that sense.
The person is like a dry sponge.
It picks up what it needs.
Yes.
And when there is a disharmony,
an imbalance in the system,
it is self-regulating.
If there is enough room to move,
then it is possible.
Yes.
And then I have seen miracles in this way,
what people call miracle healing
or things that cannot be explained.
Yes.
Like a woman who had a scar,
where an incision was made through this operation
in the nerve,
and she could not move her foot
and she could not feel it.
And through this kind of nerves,
I don't know what physically happened,
but after the treatment she could use her foot again.
She could feel and feel.
Explain?
I don't know.
Actually, I don't want to.
I want to see that healing occurs.
For the highest good, everyone participates.
Our scientific or our western world
always wants an explanation for everything,
but in principle it doesn't really matter.
After the process, you can analyze it
and try to explain it.
But then it has to be in a framework
that is bigger than just this box and this box,
this name.
It is much bigger.
Mystery.
Yes.
How is it?
How can you feel that you are called to it?
Are there signs that you might be able to perceive?
Often there are.
It's like this.
Often healers have a real crash.
Oh.
On all levels.
Sometimes it is caused by an illness
that almost leads to death.
There is a financial crash,
a relationship crash,
sometimes everything at once.
A severe crisis.
And that is a call,
a wake-up call,
a shake of everything that was,
so that something new can arise.
Some people have this feeling
that they feel energies,
that suddenly their hands get warm.
Or they are just constantly interested,
even from an early age,
about philosophies, religions.
They are hungry.
They sing and feel this heart energy
that something is shown by the environment.
Can it also be a feedback from the outside?
It can also be.
People say to you,
whenever you are there, I feel good.
Yes.
Then I don't think about this or that anymore.
Absolutely.
And in spiritual and shamanic traditions
the elders will also see,
who sees the offspring,
who is still coming.
In my case, I met a medicine man
in my teenage years
and he said to me right away,
I dreamed of you six months ago.
And then he started telling me
about these dreams all my life,
what he saw in me and who I am
and what I will be.
And then he said to me,
come over here,
just regularly,
I want to show you something.
And that was the beginning
of four years of intensive training,
hard, hard, hard, with him.
Sometimes it is chosen from the outside,
but from the inside is where the real call comes.
And there is a knowledge energy.
It's hard to describe,
but for those who feel it, you know what I mean.
A deep knowledge.
And this knowledge energy,
that's it, it's a voice.
This call is a compass.
And it opens doors.
When we give space,
okay, knowledge, show me.
And that's why people come to our training.
Everyone feels this call.
Because it's the spirits that bring you there
and call you.
It's your own heart, soul.
And the spirit that calls
and brings us together,
that harmonizes with each other.
Other healing circles, other cultures,
of course there are also,
through this call and calling.
I sometimes have the feeling,
but there are also
maybe fewer,
but there are also people
who are simply looking for meaning.
And then they learn something
to simply get more meaning for themselves
in the world or in the environment.
Do you have something like that too?
Yes, this search for the meaning of life.
It feels so empty.
There is a dissatisfaction.
I am not satisfied with what is.
And this unpleasant dissatisfaction
with the job, with everyday life,
with the family situation,
that something is just not right.
That in itself is a hunger.
And this can also show this call for healing.
Okay.
And everyone can learn from you.
That's how we got started.
In my opinion, everyone has the potential.
Everyone.
Maybe not everyone develops it, but ...
Everyone can learn, absolutely.
In our circle of hair,
there is already a filter system.
Let's put it that way.
A protected space.
Everyone is welcome.
Everyone.
But this protected space
is there for specific purposes.
Only people who really have
bright intentions,
who are really in service
to something bigger.
Even if it means self-healing.
This is the filter system
that leaves the fertile ground
for something new to be planted.
How long does such a training take with you?
Two years.
With the possibility to go
three, four, five years.
Ah, that's already well-founded, right?
Founded.
Because this is a transformative process.
It is on all levels.
It's not just three techniques
that you learn in a week.
You do this technique and this technique
and then you have this result.
It's just a matter of mind
to learn a technique.
You have to be with your whole being.
In art too.
You learn techniques,
but you turn to a certain way
to create something.
So we create healing spaces
and this is creative.
Just like a doctor learns
and then learns to interpret everything
at the moment for this particular case.
Shamans, healers in higher traditions
will also learn and practice for years.
Practice to have this foundation
and to create this connection.
To create a connection to the earth
and to open these healing springs.
Before we come to the end of this conversation,
unfortunately we have to come back
for reasons of time,
tell us where you can find information
when you say,
I feel good at Daryl
and I would like to get involved
in this transformation process.
With pleasure.
If you feel this call
and you feel this inner knowledge,
then come to our webpage,
www.darylcombs.com
There are free downloads and meditations.
There are online courses
where you can learn something
at your own pace.
But above all,
through self-healing,
healing for others,
you learn this foundation
in the training series.
There you can find the information
on the webpage
and you can call
and learn more.
The healing circles are forming now.
Since now.
Not only my or our healing circles,
which go back several generations
from these original traditions,
but healing circles on earth
in several places.
It is a super exciting time.
Actually, yes.
We heal on earth like now.
We help each other to awaken.
Yes, nice.
Thank you very much
for the valuable contribution
and for your thoughts
on the topic
how do I feel
if I am a spiritual healer
or, I prefer to say,
a medium that helps
someone to come back
to healing.
Because I believe
healing always happens
to those who are affected.
I wish you much success.
Thank you for your work
and for bringing
the indigenous knowledge
to our show.
Thank you very much.
All the best for you.
I also thank you
for being here
and for your interest
in the indigenous culture
and, above all,
whether there are signs
that you could be
very attentive to.
I think you are.
And if you feel the call,
then you have an idea
how you can go on,
how you can intensify
and, above all,
get into the healing process
or the transformation process
for yourself.
I wish you all the best for it.
I wish you to be careful,
to be loving to yourself
and, ideally,
to be yourself.
See you next time.
All the best.
