Hello everyone!
Today, I'm sitting in my hotel room to talk to you
You may ask why I always sit in my hotel room when I film videos
First of all, when I have a show, I usually stay in a strange city
and I don't have many friends here
so I have more time to talk to you
Secondly, when I have a show, I usually do my hair and make-up
I always talk to you about one or two things
Now, I want to talk about MC for events
As you know, there are many different types of MC
If we talk on a stage, there will be a different way to talk
MC for a party, MC for charity, MC for a wedding
There will be a different way of MC depending on the audience
It's not that I always talk the same way when I'm MC
Today, I want to talk about MC for events
Why did I start the first series of MC for events?
Because, to be honest, MC for events is more money than MC for my career
Of course, I only have a chance to have a career once in a while
But especially in Vietnam, I can have an event or a company every week or every day
According to my experience, MC for events usually has 3 main characters
The first one is the owner of the company
For example, Thai Tuan's company
They will hold an event for their company at the end of the year
The second character is the event company
Sometimes, the company will organize the event
But sometimes, the company will hire an event company
And the event company will hire me to be the MC
So there will be 3 main characters
Why do I have to bring this up?
Because, sometimes, when I go to the event company, they will write me a script
And when they write me a script, sometimes, it doesn't go well with the company
So, why do I have to be more careful when I work?
Like me, I always want to meet the boss to talk
Not the boss, but the company's boss or the representative or the manager
Or the person who represents the company's boss
Why? Because I really want to know what their company does
I want to learn more about the company
I want to know where they want to go
What message do they want to convey to me?
For example, when I talk about Thai Tuan's company
When I read the script of the company in the middle
They talked about a collection
I was like, why did they say that?
For example, a fashion with delicate designs
With beautiful lines, spring lines
But they talked about the same thing
When I read that script, I was like
I can talk about any fashion or collection
I can talk about any unique or creative language
With the latest materials
But I can't talk about the characteristics of that collection
Because I'm a careful person
I don't just read the script
I want to meet the company's boss
When I met them, I was like
No, this is the fabric
They said there was a collection
They printed all the poems
Between the poems they drew on their fabric
And why did they design with such clothes?
Why did they do it in a palace?
Because there are collections
They drew the pictures of old guitars
They printed the music notes of Mozart
They printed the guitars
It means that their collection is beautiful
And more special than the words of the company
The event wrote for me
So when I understand the special of that collection
When I talk about it, I can emphasize
Why this collection is different from the others
And that brings me to the second point
I want to be an MC
And I want the company to call me back next year
I have to say that I can't be lazy
I have to suffer more than others
For example, I'm a regular MC
How many shows do I run a day?
Give me the script, I'll read it
Maybe I'll do more shows
But I'm not sure if I satisfied my client
My client is the company
For the event company, I have to do well
I have to be on time
I have to be professional
I have to be on time
And I have to work according to the rules
But in the end, it's still the owner
They borrow money to run the event
Even the event company
Sometimes they talk
But they don't get what the MC needs to say
For me, I'm more careful
I always want to leave
Before that, I come to talk to the CEO
To know what this collection is
What is special?
If I need to talk to the designer
Why do I do this?
What do I have in my head?
And why do I think?
I will bring all of those things
And I will say it
I just don't read based on what they write for me
And that shows the difference of each MC
If everyone gives me a script
And every MC reads it
I won't be different from MC A, MC B, MC C
Everyone can read like that
I just need to read the right words
To be an MC
If I say that, it's too easy
Because I have to do it
I have to bring the effect to my client
I have to try harder
The question I get the most is
Can you teach me how to be an MC?
For me, if we talk about teaching
How to eat, how to stand, etc
I think there are a lot of videos on the internet
And maybe I will make those videos
To apply to the Vietnamese market
But I think the most difficult thing to be an MC
In the Vietnamese market
If you ask me what I need to teach
I have to say it's knowledge
Because MCs abroad
For example, a late night show
Like Stephen Colbert
Or Ellen DeGeneres
Or Oprah Winfrey
Behind them, there is a team of dozens of people
And those people specialize in writing
They write short stories
They follow the news
They follow the times
They write all that knowledge
And the hosts
They only need the hospitality of the hosts
And they already have the knowledge
I don't know how other Vietnamese MCs do it
But as far as I know
No one writes it for you
You have to write it yourself
To get the knowledge
And even the event companies
They write it for you
Most of them are form letters
They are already written
If today I make a fashion show for a company
This company will have a fashion show
Almost half of that writing
Has been applied to many companies
With many similar idioms
So if I read it
I will be like a bat
For example, an air conditioner company
An insurance company
All of them will have similar idioms
So if I want to be an MC
To bring something different
I have to share my knowledge
And the way I do it
I will leave one day
I will invite the host to talk to me
I also work with many MCs
When they want me to work with one more person
The good MCs
I will sit down and work with them first
And there are many MCs
They can't make it on time
They have to rush
And come at the right time
Half an hour
Remove the make-up and bring it to the MC
Just like that
When I read it, it's the same
Speaking of reading
This will give you
A second experience of mine
If I do MC
MC live
On stage or in a party
If I read it
It means I will lose the audience
No one wants to hear a person reading
I'm talking to you
I'm sharing
You may still hear me
I'm talking to you
It's the same
When I'm on a big stage
I see the role of the host
An MC
Is still talking to you
It's different
Instead of talking
You feel like I'm talking 1 to 1
I'm talking 1 to 1000
1 to 2000
Or 1 to 10,000
It's still talking
If I start reading
You won't hear me anymore
I feel sorry for MCs
When I'm invited
To host events
I see many MCs
Holding a reading board
And people are still eating
Drinking
No one pays attention
To the MC
And because they don't pay attention
What does the MC do?
Speak louder
You may hear many MCs
Screaming
But if you want to talk
And lose your audience
The first thing
For MCs
They never read scripts
