千岛湖，即新安江水库，位于中国浙江省杭州市淳安县境内，是为建新安江水电站拦蓄新安江上游而成的人工湖。新安江水库建成后，大坝将新安江上游拦截成一个巨大的湖泊。崇山峻岭淹入湖中成为大小岛屿，共1078个，故名“千岛湖”。千岛湖分东南湖区、中心湖区、西北湖区、西南湖区、东北湖区、和石林景区六个游区。
1955年，新安江水库动工兴建。1960年，新安江水库建成。1984年12月15日，浙江省地名委员会正式将新安江水库命名为“千岛湖”。千岛湖为“世界三大千岛湖”之一。千岛湖水库坝高105米，长462米，水库最深处达100余米，平均水深30.44米，在正常水位情况下，蓄水量可达178亿立方米，拥有1078座大于0.25平方千米的陆桥岛屿，并以2平方千米以下的小岛为主，岛屿面积共409平方千米。风光旖旎的岛屿风光，一直以来深受游人的青睐。千岛湖的美，在山在水，如诗如画，人在湖中游，更似画中走。
Qiandao Lake is an artificial lake. After the Xinanjiang Reservoir was built, the dam intercepted the upper reaches of the Xinan River into a huge lake. The high mountains and ridges submerged into the lake and became islands, large and small, with a total of 1,078, hence the name "Thousand Island Lake". The beauty of Qiandao Lake lies in the mountains and water, which is like a poem and a painting. People swimming in the lake feel more like walking in a painting.
