Located 11 km from Colmar in the Alsace region of France, the beautiful flowered village of Riquewihr is a member of the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France association and is right on the road to travel the Route des Vins. Other Alsatian villages in the area worth visiting are Ribeauvillé, Hunawihr, Eguisheim and Kaysersberg.
Riquewihr has a population of just over 1,000 people and is classed as an open air museum. Preserved since the 16th century, it is also renowned for the Riesling and other wines historically produced in the Alsace vineyards. Tourists can visit the Féerie de Noël, Place des Trois-Églises, the Musée du Dolder and La Tour des Voleurs, or walk along the streets of colourful houses adorned with flowering Geraniums in this beautiful village tour.
