Hi, I'm Mujo, a MUJI enthusiast.
This video is a comparison video of the latest MUJI file boxes for September 2023.
Based on MUJI file boxes, we will compare similar file boxes,
so I hope it will be helpful for those who are thinking of buying a file box from now on.
By the way, I think MUJI is the best, so please forgive me if I say MUJI.
This time, I would like to compare the price, appearance, size, texture, variation, and ease of use.
Let's get started.
First of all, MUJI.
First of all, the original file box.
I don't know, but it's a MUJI file box.
The price is 590 yen.
The size is 10 cm wide, 32 cm deep, 24 cm high, and A4 size.
The texture is definitely good.
It has a matte texture and a sense of luxury, so it doesn't interfere with the interior.
It's well-made, so it's hard to deform, so it's very durable.
You can stack them up.
This is about half a year ago.
Dark gray is also available.
It's cool, isn't it?
This is an eco-friendly file box made using regenerative polypropylene.
Regenerative polypropylene mixes colors, so it's dark gray so that it doesn't stand out.
It's almost black.
The ease of use is also stable.
The back side has a protruding part at the end like this.
So you can stack them up.
It's dangerous to have more than two, so it's better not to stack them up.
The variations are the standard type I just introduced, the standard type wide, the even wider 25 cm wide, and the half type with a height of one-half.
The standard type, the wide type, and the even wider type are all half sizes.
The color variations are three colors, clear, dark gray, and white gray.
MUJI has the most color development and size.
And I think it's overwhelmingly easy to get.
Even if you go to a store, you can get as many as you want because it's lined up.
You can get it at any online store.
MUJI sells a lid and a caster separately.
You can use this lid to stack it up.
If you put a lid on the bottom and attach a caster, you can roll it around.
I think it's highly customizable.
Next is Nitori.
Nitori's file box is called the N-Wall series.
The difference between MUJI's file box and the N-Wall series is that there is a cutout here.
This cutout makes it easier to take it out.
The good thing about Nitori is that it's cheaper than MUJI and easier to take out.
The bad thing is that there are few variations.
The price is 399 yen.
The size is 9.7 cm wide, 32 cm deep, and 24 cm high.
The depth and height are the same, but the width is 3 mm different.
Can you see this?
It's just a little bit different.
This is also A4 size.
Nitori also has a good texture.
Even if you touch it, it's almost the same as MUJI.
It's well-made, so it's durable.
There are two types of variations, regular type and wide type.
Three colors, white, black, and clear.
The development of the three colors is the same as MUJI.
MUJI is white gray, but Nitori is pure white, so the color is a little different.
If you like pure white, there is no white in MUJI, so I will introduce Nitori later, but it will be Daiso.
On the contrary, if you like white gray instead of pure white, I think it will be MUJI.
The back side of Nitori also has a small letter pattern.
The length of the upper and lower part of this small letter is a little longer than MUJI,
so I think it will be a little stable when layered.
However, I think it is better not to stack more than two layers.
MUJI can be layered with a lid, but Nitori does not have a lid, so you can simply layer it without a lid.
As for the ease of getting it, I have the impression that it is a little less than MUJI.
Because I don't think there are as many as MUJI in stores.
However, if you buy it online, you can get as many as you want, so I don't think it's a problem if you buy it online.
Next is Daiso.
It was a hot topic for a while after the file box came out from Daiso.
I think it was about 2 years ago.
Around 2020 or 2021.
At that time, it was a hot topic and sold out, and I think there were many times when I couldn't get the number I wanted, but now it seems to have calmed down.
The good point of Daiso is that the price is cheaper than MUJI or Nitori.
The bad point is that sometimes there are things that are curved from the beginning, and there are few variations and it is difficult to get.
The price is 330 yen.
The size is 9.5 cm wide, 32.2 cm deep, and 24.3 cm high.
So it's a little narrower than MUJI, but the depth is 2 mm long and the height is 3 mm high.
Depending on the product, it may be the same size even if you touch it.
I think it's about the same size as MUJI.
The width is a little different, so I think it's a good impression that there is a difference only there.
The texture is not bad, but it's good, but sometimes you can see things that are already curved.
If you are interested in that area, I think you should look carefully before buying it.
I'm the type of person who cares, so I want a straight one that is not curved as much as possible.
As for the protrusion on the back side, it feels like there is an L-shaped protrusion in all four corners.
This can also be layered, but I think it is also dangerous if it is more than two steps.
And it's a variation, but this is only white and clear.
I don't really like this color.
At least I wanted it to be black.
I like white gray more than pure white, so I personally don't choose DAISO.
In addition to the standard shape, there is a half type with a height of 1.5.
This is also white and clear.
However, the file box has disappeared from the official DAISO online shop.
It's scary.
If you go to the store, you can see that the file box is gone from the official online shop.
I was scared, so I looked it up.
Then, it turns out that a company that specializes in DAISO, which is a gold product manufacturing company, has applied for a temporary refund.
It's scary.
Maybe this file box was also made by this company.
It's scary.
In any case, all of this has disappeared from the official online shop.
It may be the end of sales for the inventory in the store.
I don't know.
It's just a guess.
But don't worry.
Instead, a new file box is available in the online shop.
Moreover, there is no white, but black and gray.
Isn't it good?
Black is definitely better.
Personally, I like black because it has a sense of luxury.
I couldn't buy this online because I ran out of stock.
I'm sorry.
I don't have it in my hand this time.
From now on, this file box may become a standard.
If that happens, the appearance will change from what I've been collecting so far.
The shape of this file box has also changed.
In that sense, this 100-yen store is easy to get.
I think there is a village here.
I would like to pay attention to the future trends.
Next is CAN DO.
Recently, CAN DO has released a file box.
This is a product called Caleo.
The good thing about CAN DO is that the holes are on both sides and the height is different.
Like MUJI, it has a sense of luxury in white and gray.
It's cheaper than MUJI.
The only bad thing is the color of white and gray.
The price is 440 yen.
But with that price alone, it's pretty solid.
The feature is that the surrounding part is concave.
I think it's a little different in appearance.
And the feature that no company has is this hole.
Each company has only one hole at the bottom.
On the contrary, the height of the hole is different.
One is at the bottom and the other is at the top.
It may be good to use it when placing it in a high place and when placing it in a low place.
The size is exactly the same as MUJI.
The width is 10cm, the depth is 32cm, and the height is 24cm.
It's exactly the same as MUJI.
The color of the variation is only white and gray.
There is no white or black.
The shape is standard and wide.
And the other one is wide.
The lineup is exactly the same as MUJI.
The size of the wide and the other one is exactly the same as MUJI.
If it's exactly the same as MUJI,
I think it's a good idea to think that it's a can-do that's cheap for 150 yen.
However, I don't think it's easy to get.
At the moment, you can't buy this file box at an online shop.
If you buy it at a store,
Depending on the store, there may not be enough stock.
You may not be able to get it if you don't want it.
It hasn't been that long since it was released.
If it becomes a hot topic on social media like MUJI,
It may become even less popular.
I think it's possible to feel like Daiso's file box was released two years ago.
The last is standard products.
Standard products have a lot of file boxes.
The good thing is that there are many variations.
The bad thing is that there are still few stores.
Standard products are not 10cm wide, but 8cm and 12cm wide.
8cm is 330 yen.
12cm is 550 yen.
Most of the other companies' file boxes are 10cm wide.
Standard products are 8cm and 12cm.
If the width is a little narrower, it's perfect for this shelf.
If the width is a little wider, it's perfect for this shelf.
However, it is a little lower than MUJI's file box.
By the way, standard products are 8cm, 12cm, 16cm, and 24cm wide.
The texture is very MUJI.
The color of white and gray is the same.
However, there are no holes in the standard products.
The colors are white gray and frost white.
It's almost the same color as other companies' clear.
The shape variations are lined up in the store.
It's a display that makes it look like MUJI.
Half the size is sold.
It's easy to get.
There aren't many stores yet.
There are no online stores.
It's easy to get.
It's hard to get.
I compared MUJI's file boxes.
If you want a stable supply, MUJI.
If you like pure white, NITORI.
If the store is near, standard products.
If you want a cheap price, DAISO.
If you like the holes on the top and bottom, CAN DO.
I don't know if this is the best way to summarize it.
I hope this video will help you choose your file box.
