Hi all, today we are starting a new subject, Basic Electronics
This subject is called Basic Electrical and Electronics
This exam is held as a single paper
In this subject, EST 130 Basic Electrical and Electronics
Module 4, 5, 6 is Electronics and Module 1, 2, 3 is Electrical
We are going to discuss about Module 4, 5, 6, Electronics
In Module 4, you will get an outline of all the engineering branches
First, we will discuss about Module 4, 5, 6
In Module 4, we will discuss about Electronics
How did Electronics evolve?
How did it evolve from Vacuum to Nano Electronics?
What are the basic electronic components?
What are the basic components like Capacitor, Inductor?
How do you find out the values?
How does a diode work?
How does a transistor work?
These are the things we are going to learn in Module 4
Electronics started in Module 4
After that, we learn about the basic electronic circuits
We will learn about the components in Module 4
After that, we will learn about the circuits in Module 5
We are dealing with basic electronic circuits and basic instrumentation
In basic electronic circuits, rectifier, power supply, block diagram, etc.
The last module is electronics and communication branch.
We have seen electronics in 4 and 5 modules.
In the next module, we are going to learn the application of electronics in communication field.
We are going to learn about the evolution of communication system from telegraphy to 5G.
We are going to learn about modulation techniques, amplitude modulation, frequency modulation, principle of modulation, operation, etc.
We are going to learn about mobile communication, cellular communication, GSM technology, etc.
Electronics and communication is the basic idea of this module.
That's all for syllabus. Let's move to the topic.
What is electronics?
Electronics refers to the branch of science and technology that deals with the behavior, control, and movement of electrons in various devices and systems.
The word Electronics derives from the word Electron Mechanics.
Electronics refers to the behavior of an electron under different conditions of applied electric field or magnetic field.
If a device is used to control the flow of electrons, it is called an electronic device.
Electronic devices are the main building blocks of electronic circuits.
Electronic devices are the devices which control the flow of electrons.
Electronic devices can be used for various applications.
Let's talk about the evolution of electronics.
The history of electronics dates back to the 20th century.
Thomas Edison noticed that heating certain materials could cause them to emit electrons that could be attracted to an electron held at a positive potential with respect to emitter, especially when electrodes were in work.
He noticed that heating certain materials could cause them to emit electrons that could be attracted to an electron held at a positive potential with respect to emitter, especially when electrodes were in work.
20 years later, this effect became the basis for inventing the walken tube.
In 1904, John Fleming applied the Edison effect and developed a 2-element electron tube called a diode.
In 1906, a scientist named Lee D. Forrest developed a 3-element electron tube called a triode.
After using these electron tubes and diodes, he developed a 1st generation computer after the world war.
The size of the 1st generation computer is very large. Since the size of the 1st generation computer is very large, it requires a lot of space to operate.

In 1947, three scientists named John Bardeen, Walter Bretain, and William Shockley invented the transistor.
The transistor functions like a walken tube, but it is very small in size.
In 1959, a scientist named Jack Helby invented an integrated circuit board.
This is the diagram of the 1st integrated circuit.
When this integrated circuit was first invented, there were only a few components in it.
Scientists thought about how to reduce the size of the integrated circuit board, how to accommodate more components in it, how to make it 100, how to make it 1000, how to make 10,000 components in it.
This is how many technologies we see today.
The first level of integration is called small-scale integration.
Medium-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 100 and 1000.
Large-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 1000 and 10,000.
Large-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 10,000 and 1,000,000.
Ultra-large-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 1,000,000 and 10,000,000.
Giant-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 10,000,000 and 10,000,000.
Large-scale integration is when the number of transistors in it is between 10,000,000 and 10,000,000.
