Hello everyone and welcome to this new video on the Speed Chess Championship tournament, we are in the final stages, in fact Karsen is already in the final, while today we are going to see how the semi-final between Nakamura and Vasherlagrav went.
The game I propose to you is a one-way attack, it lasts just 21 moves, a very aggressive attack.
Before starting, I remind everyone to like and subscribe to the channel thanks to all those who are subscribing, and let's get started.
Ok here we are, let's start by saying that this event is from 2018 and is always won by Nakamura, we know that he is a specialist in the fast game but above all he is very strong in the bullet game.
The tournament provides a unique challenge on 3 cadences, 5 minutes plus 1 second per move, 3 minutes plus 1 second per move, 1 minute plus 1 second per move.
The game we see is the 7th round, so 5 plus 1, Nakamura plays with the white pieces and opens with pawn e4, Vasherlagrav responds with c5 Sicilian defense.
One of Vasherlagrav's limits is that he is specialized in a few openings, he always plays Sicilian defense against e4, especially the Naidorf variant of Sicilian, while against d4 he always plays Grunfeld.
And of course everyone knows it, but it must also be said that he is the best expert in these two openings, so let's see what Nakamura invents.
Nakamura plays Nf3 Sicilian open, follows d6, Vasherlagrav wants to go back to Naidorf, but Nakamura refuses and plays Bb5 checkmate.
Let's go back to the Sicilian variant of Moscow, where the white develops the checkmate by giving checkmate, so a very fast development, to then be able to put the king safe.
Once the white plays Bb5, he practically always changes this checkmate, otherwise he would lose too much time if he had to pull it back.
Vasherlagrav defends with d7 checkmate and Nakamura captures the checkmate in d7, after Qd7 he plays Nd3 checkmate.
Attention, what is happening?
Well, not only Vasherlagrav could not play Naidorf, but even Nakamura, after returning to the Moscow variant, decides to go completely out of the lines by playing a lower move, Qd3, when the best move is Qd4.
Ok, but the position remains completely even, so the game is all to play, Nakamura's approach is a smart way to play against those who are very prepared in the opening, great game for now.
Nagrav develops the knight in c6, Nakamura puts the king safe with the rook, he follows Qe6 Qc3.
Here too we make a small note, the variants with Qc3 in Sicilian are all quite simple to play for the white, the white with this move prepares the push in d4, so he wants to control the center.
Nakamura defends the pawn in e5 with d4 pawn, but not only, as you can see he opens the diagonal to the woman, so he is ready to bring the woman into attack and Vasherlagrav plays f5, with f5 he hopes to enter in e4 or h3 or g4.
Nakamura plays another nice move, c5 knight, with c5 he attacks the pawn in e6, he does not allow the woman to enter in e4 because the knight controls the house in e4, and above all he attacks the pawn in b7, so he attacks the rook.
In this position, Vasherlagrav decides to abandon after just 21 moves, a very aggressive attack by Nakamura as you can see.
Why does Vasherlagrav abandons the tower, which has more than 3 minutes of time?
Because if he captures the tower, he takes a crazy jump in a move, and if he does not capture it, the problem is the alfiero, how do you save the alfiero?
Let's see what happens tonight, thank you all for watching this video, I remind you to like and subscribe to the channel, bye and see you next time.
