HELLO SEPTEMBER | a cosy day, homesense trip, fall haul & getting ready for autumn 🍂

Good morning my loves! I hope you're all really well. Happy September! Can you believe it's our favourite time of the year? Whenever I just think of September it makes me feel so giddy inside. It's like the feeling of, you know when you're like nine years old and it's Christmas Eve and Santa is coming down that chimney and you're just like... I actually, the hairs on my arms are standing up at the thought of autumn. Anyway my loves, hello September, hello autumn, almost. I keep saying almost, like let's just face facts, it's autumn. It's autumn for us guys, 1st of September equals autumn is here, get me the pumpkin spice, get me some crunchy leaves to stamp on, get me some knitwear, it's alright I've been wearing it all summer anyway, get me the hot chocs, the marshmallows, the autumn walks, the chilli, the chilli crisp mornings, oh how I have craved a chilli crisp morning. The candles on 24-7, the lamps, I love a lamp. Homemade soup, the cinnamon buns, it's our season guys, it's our season to shine or hibernate. And yeah I've had a lovely morning, Noah's gone to nursery, Jamie took him this morning. I had a little bit of like a sad moment this morning, this happens every single time Noah goes to nursery. This sounds so silly but I feel like a part of me, like a part of my soul has left and until he's back home I just don't feel complete. And I know that he has the best time at nursery, like he's been going for a month now and he loves it so much, he gets so excited when we pull up at nursery. And I know that he loves it but there's just part of me that's like there it goes again, out into the world. Anyway my loves, plans for today are, we've got a lovely, a lovely little day planned. So in about an hour me and my friend Megan are actually heading over to Homesense for a little Homesense trip to see what autumn treasures we can find. So we're heading over there in about an hour, I'm just about to go and get ready. I wish I could wear this, this lounge set is just everything. I bought this from Matalan a few weeks ago and oh my goodness, it's, Teddy's just having a moment if you can hear meowing and scratching and scooting across the floor. But yeah this lounge set is just so cosy and I just never ever want to take it off but unfortunately I'm going to have to get dressed to leave the house today. Then when I get home from Homesense I'm going to gather all of my new autumn bits and share with you a big autumn haul because I've collected some really lovely bits this year. And if you guys came with me on our annual autumn shopping trip last week, I'll pop that video somewhere on screen and down below just in case you missed it, but I've got some really lovely bits which I'm dying to share with you and then if I pick up anything in Homesense today I'll also share those bits with you as well. So we'll do a big autumn haul and then a little bit later on today we need to pop them into the loft and get out all of the autumn decor because we're going to be decorating for autumn next week. So today is all kind of like about getting ready, we're getting ready for autumn. And then this evening we're going to cook a lovely yummy dinner and have a cosy night in. I mean does that not just sound like the perfect day? Okay my loves, I'm back. I'm back in my Matalan loungewear set. Honestly as soon as I came through that door I was like right, makeup, back off, loungewear set, back on and we're back in cosy mode. So we went to HomeSense. They had some amazing bits. I cannot wait to show you what I picked up. And then we actually stopped for some lunch which was lovely. Me and Megan had a much needed catch up. And then I picked up Noah on my way home. So he's just gone down for his nap. So I thought I could gather everything. I've got all my bags here of all my new autumn bits. And I'm going to share with you all the bits that I picked up. So HomeSense today. Me and Megan did walk in and there was you know there was a lot of the Halloween. There was a lot of ghouls and ghosts and witches and skeletons and we were a bit like ooh. Have you guys seen that TikTok that's like you're either an autumn girly or a Halloween girly. Like they're not all the same. Just because we love autumn doesn't mean we love Halloween. I am of course autumn girl. The Halloween decor is just not my fave. But the deeper we went into HomeSense we found so many hidden gems. So my loot. She's rather big. Oh my god I think I'm going to cry. I'm going to cry. No I'm going to cry. Oh my god Megan is not going to believe this. Jamie get your superglue out. Guys. Oh my god I'm going to cry. I actually need a minute. I need a minute to mourn. Why do bad things happen to good people. Oh my goodness. I need to tell you a story behind this. So this mug. This mug. Honestly I can't even tell you how many times me and Megan spoke about these mugs today because we were so happy with them. So basically we found one of these mugs and we both really wanted it. And we were like you have it. No you have it. No you have it. No you have it. Both desperately wanting the mug. And then I found another one right at the back and we were so happy and we called them our friendship mugs. And um. I just was so happy with this mug. Like I've been thinking about it the whole way home. About how exciting it was to have a hot chocolate in it later and look. Oh my god Megan's not going to believe this. I think it's unsalvageable as well because look it's all cracked all over. It's not just the handle. Oh. Okay my loves I'm back. I've mourned the loss of my sunflower mug. I'm over it. It obviously was not meant to be. The bits I got from HomeSense. I found this cinnamon pumpkin pot puree. Am I saying that right? Pot puree? I think that's how we say it but oh my god look. It's loads of mini pumpkins. And I'm thinking these will be so cute in. I picked up this bowl. Is that not just going to look so cute? Like a little pumpkin pot puree moment. That's going to look so nice. I'm being extra careful with everything now. So I don't break anything else. As you may have seen on my Instagram but we're actually having a media wall built in our dining area. So I'll have loads of space to decorate for autumn. So I've started collecting a few bits for there. Because that's going to be like the main feature of the kitchen. A kitchen diner. So I thought this bowl would not only be amazing for autumn to put like our little pumpkins in there. But I thought it would also be great for like all year round. Next a bit of a boring purchase but actually what am I laying for? What are you laying for? I don't think these are boring. I love a new tea towel. I do. I love a new tea towel. And these are so thick. They're so thick. I just, I love them. Really thick. They actually feel like they're going to dry things because you buy one of those tea towels that it just gets wet and it doesn't actually dry anything. I'm really showing my age here aren't I? Talking about the how well a tea towel mops up water. These were £6.99. I love the rusticness. That's my new favourite word if you guys haven't guessed. I love the rustic. But yeah I thought these would just be lovely. It's just a tea towel really. Now, gorgeous is this? I just love everything about it. I love the deep orange faux flowers. I love the ceramic ribbed bars. This is going to be perfect for our media wall. I love the pop of just like that beautiful burnt orange. So pretty. Homesense actually had quite a lot of lovely little autumn bouquets. This was £12.99. Next up we have, of course, some candles because did you really go to Homesense if you didn't pick up some more candles for your forever growing? Hey that's not even a candle. Where's my candle? Panicking. It's okay everybody. It's here. Candle is safe. This was actually some more potpourri. I'm loving a bit of potpourri this year. This is an orange cinnamon. Oh it smells amazing. It smells like Christmas in a jar. I'm thinking this can go on our console table in the hallway in like a lovely bowl. Okay this is the candle. Guys I only picked up one candle. One candle from that amazing candle wall in Homesense. I know I'm proud to say I only picked up one. I have got about three more candles in my bits from the other shops. So I got this one which is vanilla cinnamon. I love the sand and fog candles. They are gorgeous. They burn for a really long time and they're really strong smelling and I just think they look lovely as well. And I love like how each candle has a different lid. So this one has a little autumn leaf lid which I thought was cute and give me anything vanilla and give me anything cinnamon and pumpkin. They're like my three favourite scents. I love a vanilla-y pumpkin scent. It's just, just stickless under my nose forever. I would just walk around like this and I would literally be so happy. Then we found pure treasure in Homesense. So you know when you look at the like book collection in Homesense and it's kind of like, I mean they're nice books but they're not these books. Oh my goodness. There was an actual abundance of gorgeous coffee table books in Homesense. Um, Megan picked up quite a few as well. I'm pretty sure she's going to be doing like a little Homesense haul on her TikTok so I'll leave that link down below. But she also picked up some really lovely bits and we just could not believe the amount of amazing coffee table books that were so much cheaper in Homesense as well. So I got the Kinfolk Homebook which is one of my favourite coffee table books. We actually already have this in the bedroom but this again is for our media wall. And this was £19.99. This is like £29.99 on Amazon. And then I also picked up this one which is called A New Leaf. Again, just thought that's going to look gorgeous. Maybe even these two together on the media wall. Love the colour, it's like a deep olive colour. Um, and this was £12.99. And this on Amazon is £25. It's literally half price. These and the, the Margarity were my favourite purchases. Okay, moving on to the shops that we went to last week. So let's start with, I picked up one thing from Asda, Asda Living is it called? Um, George, no Asda George. Asda George Living? Like what is it? The shop's called Asda Living but it's George isn't it, the home bit. Oh my goodness guys, look at this. I got this throw. It's like a linen throw and it's got these fluffy toadstools on and I just thought this is going to be perfect for Noah's playroom because obviously we've got a woodland theme going on in there. I just thought this would be so cute when it gets a little bit cold. We can snuggle, we can snuggle together and watch Paw Patrol like. Then from TK Maxx, oh I forgot about these bits. Okay, I got lots of candles. I'm like, I'm proud of me for getting one candle. Literally three more in this bag. Okay, before we go on to the candles, I got this. I got this from TK Maxx. It's like a wood carved pumpkin. I just love, like what a find. £14.99, little bit expensive but it's like heavy wood. Like that's no faux wood, that's proper wood and I just think it's so lovely. Rustic, rustic. Candles of choice, we got vanilla cinnamon in this lovely like frosted jar. That smell, just makes me warm and fuzzy. I love it and this was £7.99. Then I got this one which is autumn morning herbal crisp and musky. Crispy morning glistens over leaves with a zesty blend of citrus infused eucalyptus and spearmint. That one's very fresh. Literally smells like a crisp autumn morning. Oh, that is so nice. And then I picked up just a little mini maple pumpkin to go, you know in the kitchen where like the cooking book is. I like to have a mini candle there, which I always have lit whenever I cook. So I thought we could have a little maple pumpkin one. This was £3.99 and it just smells absolutely delicious. Also in my TK Maxx bag was a little random purchase from Next. I picked up these pumpkin pie wax melts, which I just thought, you just can't not pick them up. Okay, moving on to Matalan. Okay, first up from Matalan, I picked up this cushion. I just had to. I have never seen a cushion like this in the UK. This kind of thing you find in America in Target and in home goods. It's reversible. So on this side, we've got these gorgeous beaded pumpkins. And then on this side, we've got autumn leaves. I just thought this was so gorgeous. And it was £12.50. I just love it so much. And also from Matalan, I got this wooden pumpkin. Love the detail on this. Love like the washed white. I just think it's so nice. And this was £14. Then also from Matalan, this was with all of the autumn bits, but I'm probably again, going to have this up all year round. I think this will look so nice. Let me get my books. They're a bit heavy. Let me get one book. These look so nice. Just like placed on a book on our media wall. I thought they were so nice. And they're like the perfect wood colour. Do you know what I mean? Like they're not like an orangey wood, they're like a gorgeous ashy wood. And these were £10. But I think these just look so nice on like console table, any like sideboards, or like I said, going to be using this on our media wall. I can't wait for our media wall. I think it's going to just like completely transform the kitchen. Can't wait. And the last thing I got from Matalan was this little speckled pumpkin candle. I just think it's so cute. £7. I actually have no idea what this smells like because I've not opened it yet. But I'm guessing it's just going to be like a pumpkin scent, right? Seeing as it is pumpkin shaped. How do you get in this? Why is there so many stickers? We're finally in. Wow. Okay, moving on to the range. Now I did pick up quite a few Christmas bits from the range, but I'm going to save those to show you guys those in our Christmas shop with me video. What I will say though, I said this in my last video, the shops really do have some amazing Christmas bits in right now. I know we are literally at the beginning of September. But if you want the good bits, you've got to get them early because when I went shopping in my last video, there wasn't half as much amazing autumn stuff as there was like at the beginning of July. This is your sign. Go to the range and get some Christmas bits. I picked up one autumn thing. How nice are these? I got two. Look how many leaves are on one stem. I just think these are so pretty. And I'm thinking of popping these either in a big vase on the dining table or in our hallway. But they're just going to look so gorgeous when we decorate for autumn. They're like so lovely as well. They're like this really nice like silky, bit of a silky leaf. They just look, I feel like they look really expensive. Especially when they're in a really nice like big ceramic vase and I've kind of like separated them all. I think they're just going to look so pretty. Hope you guys love everything that I picked up. Time for me to go and get Jamie and ask him to do one of his least favourite things, which is accompany me in the loft. It's that time again. It's our annual trip into the loft. It's our annual get Jamie to go in the loft. It's our annual argument day where Jamie moans at me for having so much stuff in the loft. What I say is when it goes up, it don't come down. Jamie, you can hardly talk. You've got about a thousand boxes up there. Jamie's a box hoarder guys. Who keeps empty boxes for electrical gear? Not you and everyone else, just you. What about when you're done with it and it's time to sell it on? I don't need a box. What do you need a box for? Look after your stuff everyone. Here we go. It's that time again. You know it's autumn when you get a close up of Jamie's bum. Can you see the autumn boxes up there? Yeah. Can you? I think so. Oh, here we go. Probably not the best idea holding you guys in one hand. Oh, I hate going up here so much. I don't know if that's autumn or Christmas to be honest. Is there loads of dead flies up there again like last time? No. So last year I was a bit naughty and I didn't really label them very well. I was lazy. Oh, Christmas trees. Okay. I remember specifically thinking last year we'll put the autumn bits together so we don't have to properly look. Oh, going in the attic is like a trip down memory lane. Christmas mugs. No, we don't want you. 2021 burgundy baubles. We don't want you. Delicate baubles. Okay. I'm feeling like this is Christmas. Where are we anyway? What's this little tree? Over here look. That's Noah's tree. Our Christmas tree in the garden is doing all right by the way. I know. This is autumn I'm guessing. Look at that. Pumpkin. No, that was our porch stuff. Oh dear. So what are we saying then? We've lost it. Well, I think you've mixed it all up. Yeah, because when I pass up the boxes, I tell you to put them in little piles together and you've obviously mixed it up with the Christmas stuff. That's what's happened here. I think it might be these ones. I've not labelled them. Why haven't I labelled them? I always usually write autumn on there. Can you get that and have a look? Because I don't like touching this one. Oh, very delicate autumn deco, which is just... Jamie, they're delicate baubles. Can't you read the word delicate? Okay. Right, let's put that with the Christmas signs. Oh, the Christmas signs. Well, just don't, okay? Why are you saying whoa in that box? Pure autumn. Oh my goodness, who put a pumpkin in this guy today? Oh, so cute. We should have a whole video dedicated to going through the loft. Oh, so cute. I mean, you'd need a few videos. Pink baubles from my tree like three years ago. Feather boas. Oh my goodness. Do you remember anything that was really grey? Jamie hated the grey era. Crushed velvet, mirrored furniture, grey era. Crushed velvet, mirrored furniture, grey era is where it all began for me, Jamie. It was just blush pink, fluff, very feminine. Do you think? Jamie hated it. Okay, I think, oh, Noah's Easter boxes. I mean, I don't love it up here, but I like the mems. All my boxes. Where? In the corner, look. Neatly stacked away in the corner. I don't think anyone wants to see. Right, let's get these down and have a look through them. Yeah, I think so too. Sell all Gemma's old Christmas stuff and become a millionaire because there's that much of it. Sell it like really, really cheap as well as still become a millionaire because there's that much of it. Just having a little look through my autumn boxes. Tilly is also enjoying having a good old sniff of everything, giving it the Tilly approval and I found one of my favourite autumn things that I own. These were from Anthropologie a few years ago but they actually had them back last year. So I'll keep my eyes peeled for you guys but they are my favourite mugs ever. My friend Tiff bought me this mug and I just love it. How exciting. I love looking through these every year. Got little velvet pumpkins, some little linen ones down there, little mini pumpkin dish. I'm so excited to decorate for autumn. Dinner is served. Our prawn and tomato risotto. How delicious does it look? The velvetise is out. That must mean one thing. It's autumn. I've decided to start the season as I mean to go on, with a little hotel chocolate, hotel chocolate, hot chocolate, did that make any sense? In my little pumpkin mug. And we're basically going to be having one of these every single night for the rest of the year so I thought let's start tonight. Got my hot choc, got my candle burning. It's the most gorgeous rainy evening. Like it feels so cosy out there and I've just got into bed. I'm living the dream. I've just put Noah to bed, just got into bed. I still need to actually get ready for bed, like after my hot chocolate I'm actually going to jump in the shower and like get ready for bed, but I just, I really want to just lay in bed whilst it's still kind of getting dark. I love that. Drink my hot chocolate and I want to watch the last episode of The Samurai Turned Pretty. Guys, can you believe I've come, since we last spoke, which was last week, or no, two weeks ago we spoke about this, I have completed two seasons of The Samurai Turned Pretty. I can't even express my love for that series. I just, I love it so much. It's one of those that I've just, I feel like I've really connected with and I love all the characters. I'm just so invested and I've been holding out watching this last episode for a really long time because I don't want it to be over. I feel like tonight is just, I've had such a lovely day and tonight's the perfect evening to just like chill out in bed and watch the last episode. So yeah, that is exactly what I'm going to do now. But there's something about the velvetizer that just makes the hot chocolate so like, so smooth and so just delicious. It really is worth the hype and I just so delicious. And I also found in the cupboard a little I don't know how old this is. I feel like it might have been from the year before last, a little pack of pumpkin marshmallows.
