(Ligue 1 2023/2024): Highlights LYONNAIS - LE HAVRE

Lyon were looking to lift themselves off the bottom of the table as they came up against newly promoted Le Havre after an eventful week at the club with the dismissal of Laurent Blanc at the appointment of Fabio Grosso. LaCassette leading the line as Ligue 1 fans expect an improved showing after a heavy defeat to PSG two weeks ago. And it's Lyon with the early opportunities as Cherky is found near the right. Takes on Opéry and drives into the box and tries to find the bottom corner. Dismas is able to get down in time. Cherky again picking up the ball on the right wing. This time cutting inside and it falls to Nicolas Tagliafico. But his long range effort is deflected wide. No way through for the hosts in the first half as a compact Le Havre defence keep their opponents at bay. Lyon baited in their last 18 games against newly promoted sides. The hosts looking for three points to kick off a new era though. A chance on the counter now for the hosts as Tolisso plays it through to Nwama. The Ghanaian cuts through the defence but it's Dismas who comes out on top in the one-on-one showdown. The 19-year-old close to a timely first goal for his new club. Le Havre though looking to spring a surprising catch Lyon on the break. Casimir floating the ball in for Kuzyaev but the head is wide of Anthony Lopez's goal. The midfielder covering every blade of grass during the match. But just missing the finishing touch when his chance came in front of goal. But the Normans would have another chance to win it before the end. Kuzyaev again involved as the Russian plays it to Casimir. And he's centred across goal but Garcia is unable to keep his shot down. The forward agonisingly close to clinching a famous result for the promoted side. And it's new signing Diego Moreira who's looking to make an instant impact after coming on. Combining with Cherki who shimmies his way through to a one-on-one but it's Dismas who denies him again. Cherki close to the breakthrough but it's not enough. And Lyon remain winless this season. The hosts no longer bottom of the table though and out of the relegation zone. Fabio Grosso set to take charge for the first time for next week's trip to Brest.
