old money style or the old money aesthetic. People also call it quiet luxury. I've even
heard people call it stealth wealth which is so funny. Probably one of the biggest fashion trends
of 2023. If you followed Sophia Richie's wedding, if you were watching Succession you'll have heard
this term. So in this video I'm going to break down what the old money style or old money quiet
luxury aesthetic is. I'm going to break down the key components. I'm going to tell you the best
shops on the high street to find old money style pieces and I'm also going to give you a checklist
of my top 10 old money wardrobe staples to get you started. Maybe you have them in your wardrobe
already. Maybe you're looking to pick up something new but either way we're going to cover everything
in this video. Before I forget I have a newsletter that I've just launched where every Sunday I send
you guys an email with my top picks, deals, discount codes, the high street dupes that I
found. Just like the best of the high street straight into your inbox. So I will leave the
link to that in the description below so you can sign up. So all the info you need will be right
down in the description below. So let's get started. So what is old money style or the quiet
luxury aesthetic? The principles of it are just timeless, classic, elegant wardrobe basics. Neutral
colours. White, cream, beige, tan. Not just light colours but also darks like brown, black, navy is a
big one. You will see some print in the old money aesthetic but typically it is just a stripe which
I absolutely love and I find them so easy to style but for the most part we're looking at muted
neutral colours. In terms of silhouettes we tend to see a mix of classic tailoring so that would
be tailored trousers, blazers and then we would also see some very classic feminine silhouettes.
When you are shopping for this old money aesthetic you do not need to spend luxury prices to achieve
this look. Because this whole style is about minimal basic just elevated basics you can spend
any budget really and find pieces that really match this. It's the idea that your outfit doesn't have
a lot of branding or logos on it. We're looking more so at the styling and the composition as
opposed to the labels that are being shown. You can achieve this style on any budget if you know
what to look out for. Now that we've broken down the key components of the old money aesthetic
I'm going to tell you the top five high street brands to shop this style. First brand that I'm
going to talk about is Arquette. I have so many great pieces from them. I'm actually going to
do a video on the best of Arquette to help share what I think the best kind of top picks are from
them. Their blazers, their trousers but they also do great basic t-shirts and I feel like their
prices are fantastic. Now they also often do discount codes. Number two I would have to say
is Cos. So another really really gorgeous brand. They focus on minimalism, tailoring, really good
quality pieces. Again their blazers, their trousers. They also do fantastic basics like tanks and tees
and they do really beautiful dresses. Really simple, elegant, very old money, quiet luxury
aesthetic. Next up on the list is Marks and Spencer. A lot of people sleep on Marks and Spencer.
They do the best quality knits if you are looking for cashmere for a really really good price and
when they do their sales you gotta be fast because that cashmere, it gets reduced so well. I found
some amazing pieces there over the years. Underwear, bras which really are the foundation of our
wardrobe. They're such a good brand for basics, great trousers. They're a great one to check out.
Next up is And Other Stories and they're another brand that I've picked up so many great basics
from. They have some of my favorite blazers. I have a video on the best blazers on the high street.
I'll link that below. Great basics, great work wear, tailoring, so so good. The last one I'm
going to tell you about is Massimo Duty. Now they can be a little bit more expensive but they do
fantastic tailoring, their coats, their jackets. They do amazing kind of boucle button jackets.
Like all these other brands they do sales as well so they're a good one to keep an eye on.
So now that I've shown you the best brands to shop for the old money quiet luxury aesthetic,
I'm going to go through my top 10 checklist for old money items in your wardrobe. Maybe you have
these already or maybe you might be on the hunt to update your wardrobe a little bit but I'm going to
run through the key quintessential old money items in your wardrobe. First one is of course
the classic button-down shirt. I have chosen a linen version. There is so many ways to style it.
I've gone for a slightly oversized fit here. This linen material is gorgeous. I love the pockets.
You can style this with jeans, tailored trousers, tailored shorts, skirts. I mean there's a million
and one ways to wear it. The next old money wardrobe staple is of course the tailored trousers.
They are just so timeless, so chic. They will forever be a style classic. Effortlessly chic.
It always looks so so good. These are by LilySilk. They're just such a good basic. The cuff at the
hem on these is really really nice. They look just as good with heels as they do with flats.
Brands like Arquette and COS do amazing tailored trousers. So next up in your old money wardrobe
checklist is your classic tailored blazer. So my go-to blazer for spring summer is the Arquette
wool hopsack blazer. I've mentioned this multiple times on the channel before. In my opinion the best
value blazer on the high street. It's typically about I think 150. It's currently on sale. The
in their summer sale which I've never seen before so I will link it and again this will be in the
newsletter so sign up to the newsletter because you'll get these um sale insights like straight
into your inbox because I hate when I miss stuff like that. Another bottom in the old money style
checklist is the satin midi skirt. It is like quintessential old money elegance. There's
something so feminine, really understated and elegant but they're also so comfortable, so easy
to style and I honestly think they're just like the go-to when I want to feel comfortable but
elevated I will throw on a satin midi. This one is by LilySilk and it is made of mulberry silk which
is honestly so fantastic. So I'll link this down below but I will also link some high street
versions as well. Next up we have the simple knit. When we think of the old money style we think of a
gorgeous knit like knotted across the shoulders, worn kind of tucked into a satin skirt, tucked
into trousers or tailored shorts. Such a quintessential element of that style. So this is
the Cezanne Gaspard cardigan. I have this in four colours. The quality is fantastic. It can be worn
this way like a classic cardigan and you'll see the buttons are this beautiful pearlescent detail.
They're really good quality buttons or you can wear it this way as kind of just plain on the
front and this bow neckline is really really flattering. Next up we have the humble striped top.
I mentioned this about stripes in my old money kind of breakdown and it really is the prominent
print of this style. It's just so chic. It's such an old money little nod and it just looks so chic.
Finally for clothing the old money wardrobe essential is the waistcoat. We've seen so much
of these over the last maybe two years but they really are such a wardrobe staple. They look so
elegant and chic and put together and I absolutely love styling them. We're going to move on to
accessories and the first one is a pair of black sunglasses. A pair of all black classic sunglasses.
These are the Saint Laurent Mica sunglasses. They are probably my favourite and most worn pair of
sunglasses. The slight cat eye is just so so chic. They elevate just about any look but actually I have
found the best high street dupe for these. I will link them below. They're under 30 euro. They're
literally the same. When it comes to footwear in your old money checklist I would say a pair of
classic loafers. It's all about the elegant flat so nothing too chunky, nothing too fussy or too high.
These loafers they're so simple but they're by Sam Edelman. They're very similar to the Gucci
horsebit loafers. They go super well with everything. They work with the satin midi skirts.
They give this really elegant look to the leg. Another footwear style I'm going to mention is
the ballet flat and again these are a trend that really have come back in the last year
but I do think that they are here to stay. They're just very elegant, very understated. You can get
fantastic ones on the high street. The Marks and Spencer leather ballet flats come in at under 50
euros and the quality is fantastic. So the final thing on your old money fashion checklist is your
no logo handbag and that is a basic leather good quality handbag with no like strong logos. Just
something really minimal and chic. So I'm going to show you first the Demelier New York tote. This
is an example of something a little bit bigger. Its shape really reminds me of the Hermes Birkin
styles. It's just really really classic. It's a bag that you can wear season after season after
season. I'm going to show you another smaller everyday version of what I think is a very old
money quiet luxury bag and it is this one here. This is the Tory Burch Lee Radswell bag in the
small size. It has a cross body kind of shoulder strap here that you can lengthen and shorten
and it has a top handle. Again this really really reminds me of the Hermes Kelly. This is the perfect
example of a quiet luxury everyday handbag because when I wear this I always get questions on who
it's by or where it's from but it's a bag that not everybody has and it's just understated and
elegant but it doesn't have any obvious branding which I love. So again I'll have both of these
linked in the description below. You really do not need to buy designer or like very expensive brands
to emulate this style. I actually have a full video on the best premium luxury bags under 600
euro and I'll link that in the description below and there are some gorgeous styles in there. So

wardrobe but you don't want to spend crazy prices then definitely check that out in the description
below. There you have it guys that is everything that you need to know about the quiet luxury
old money aesthetic and how you can incorporate it into your wardrobe. Now as I said everything
