Donald Glover is shifting gears with his planned Disney Plus Lando series.
The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed the project is now being developed as a film for Lucasfilm.
Glover's brother, Stephen Glover, was working on the project with Donald before the writer's
strike began in May and during a recent podcast appearance revealed the latest plans were to make
a film. Wait, you said it's not even a show? No, the idea right now is to do a movie.
Glover played Lando Calrissian in 2018's solo A Star Wars Story and in December of 2020,
Disney announced the series was in the works. The project is currently on hold amid the dual
writers and actor strikes. In April, Glover told GQ of a potential project with Lando saying,
I'm not interested in doing anything that is going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck.
I would much rather spend time with people I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing,
which I think it could be. Billy Dee Williams originated the character of Lando,
the charming space smuggler in the original Star Wars trilogy. For more on this story,
