Welcome to my autumn capsule wardrobe video. So if you are new watching this video today
then my name's Katie and I love to focus on capsule wardrobe style content, educating you
guys on how you can wear these capsule pieces, how you can build a capsule wardrobe and my
recommendations of what brands that I shop from to make sure that I'm always getting quality
capsule wardrobe items that stand the test of time. So as you can see we are getting into a
full swing of autumn now. I'm honestly so excited for this season. Autumn, winter content is my
favorite content. I love all my jumpers, I love coats, I love jackets. I've been picking up some
new bits recently but I wanted to share with you my go-to autumn capsule wardrobe staples that I'll
be wearing this season. So yeah, let's get into the video. So I'm going to start with the wardrobe
basics. So a go-to staple of mine is a classic white t-shirt and I wear t-shirts all year round.
So if you invest in a good quality t-shirt it'll take you through to all seasons and ones that I
highly recommend is this first one by Arquette. This is their heavyweight t-shirt. It comes in
different colors. I just prefer the heavyweight style of it as it is thicker cotton. It just sits
a lot better underneath my blazers, underneath jackets and it tucks in really nicely as well
and I wear this one in a size small. Then the next t-shirt is this one. This is more of a relaxed
oversized t-shirt and it's from Under the Stories. I like to style this t-shirt just on its own like
with some jeans, with some trousers or with a satin skirt because I really love the longer length
sleeve. So it's perfect to sort of try knitwear over. It's just a really nice t-shirt and again
Under the Stories is another great brand to buy your basics from. Then next is a striped t-shirt.
So this one is from Cars, another brand which I highly recommend for their quality basics. They
do this style in the stripe, in white, in black. It's a really great quality t-shirt. I also wear
this one in a size small. The next is a black classic t-shirt. This is the black version of
the Arquette one in the heavyweight. I love my white ones so much so I thought I would upgrade
my previous black basic and get the Arquette one. Then another basic which I'll still be reaching
for in the autumn and the transitional period is a classic white vest. I've chosen this scoop
vest one because I've found that I've been wearing it with like bomber jackets with my skirt so I
don't want to wear a higher neckline t-shirt and sometimes a vest sits better underneath my little
tweed jacket. I think it's a little bit lighter as well than a t-shirt because the weather recently
has been very muggy. We've just had a heat wave so I feel like wearing a t-shirt underneath a
jacket will be a bit too warm at the moment so I do like to wear a white vest top instead. So
this is from Uniqlo, another lovely brand for their basics. I wear this in a size small and
it's in this ribbed material so it looks really premium too. Now on to jeans. I say this in every
single one of my capsule wardrobe videos, jeans are the hardest to find. I feel like I've got
through so many different pairs of jeans, so many different styles of jeans which don't suit my body
shape, the fit's not right or they've not sort of like washed very well so I think the last year
I've really focused on getting good quality fitting denim. So I've got literally three
pairs of jeans on here and I'm also going to include the ones which I'm wearing now which
are just a simple wide leg jean from H&M but the style of jean which I've been wearing a lot in the
spring season which I'm definitely going to take into the autumn season are these ones from
Under The Story. So as I've noticed from like styling videos, like filming myself, I can see what
sort of trousers fit on my body shape better and I think more of a straight jean which is like less
skinny just suits me so much better and especially on the ankle too. I think it's nice to have a
little bit of flare at the bottom. So these are a straight fit, they're slightly cropped as well so
look perfect with my trainers. I wear them in a size 28-28. I also ordered them in the darker
wash but unfortunately I received the wrong size so I was gutted. I was after more of a bluer wash
but I always opt for a mid-wash denim because I just feel like it's a lot more wearable.
I feel like sometimes blue jeans are mainly more for autumn winter time but these are definitely
more transitional throughout the seasons and I just love the fit of them. And then the other pair
are these ones. These are about two to three years old now. They are the Under The Story's
favourite cut jeans. These are my slimmer jeans which are a straight fit which look better with
like my loafers, like with slimmer like shoes. So I feel like wearing like a loafer with these jeans
won't work because the end of the trousers are too flared. So I feel like you have different
trousers for different shoes if that makes sense. You'll also see as well as I get on to my other
trousers, I have different trousers for different shoe styles but I love wearing these. I wear them
in a size 27-28 and I highly recommend Stories for their denim. Then next is a pair of white jeans.
So these take me through again all year round. I love styling them in the spring summer but I also
love styling them in the winter time like with my converse, with my jumpers and trench coats.
White jeans definitely aren't for the summer season. I feel like a pair of white jeans
and white trousers are my most worn bottom whenever I style my outfits all year round.
And these ones are from Arket. It took me a while to find the right fitting and right shade of white
jeans and these are the rose cropped jeans by Arket and I wear them in a size 27. Now on to my
tailored trousers. So for days when I don't want to wear my jeans you'll always find me in a style
of wide leg tailored trousers. These are my most worn ones. They are from Naked. They are super old
but I'll link some alternative ones for you. I've also been reaching for this pair a lot. These are
also from Naked and they're more of like an off-white cream. So they look a little bit more
softer. So with like cream and like black pieces. So I've had this jumper which I've styled them with.
I've also styled them with a cardigan. They're just a little bit more softer than white but I think
cream trousers as well look amazing all year round. You can dress them up, dress them down
and tailored trousers you can wear for all occasions. So these are a wide leg fit. So I like to wear these
up with my ballet flats, also my trainers. They look amazing with heels. And then another style
of cream trouser which I also wear a lot of these ones. These are also from Naked but these are more
of a straight leg fit. So I've noticed that like peg leg trousers do not suit my body shape at all.
Like when I wear a high-waisted tailored trouser which is like a peg leg. So it's like quite slim
at the bottom. It just doesn't like suit my body shape because I'm top heavy. I need a slightly
like wider leg or a bit of a tapered leg to sort of balance out my body shape. And these ones are
from Naked. I have them in black, also in beige as well. But they look really great styled with my loafers,
with my ballet flats. And they're really great in between as well. So if you don't like styling like
wide leg trousers then these are a really great alternative. Then next is a pair of black wide
leg trousers. So I find that I style these a lot more in the autumn winter season. So I love to
wear like denim in the springtime and lighter trousers. These ones are from Warehouse. They are
super old. Again I'll try and link some alternatives one for you. But I love styling black wide legs
with my trainers. It looks so cool with a trench coat in the autumn season. And then the other pair
is the black version of those cream straight ones that I just showed you. Next is a pair of beige
wide leg trousers. So these ones are from H&M. I've had them for just over a year now. I really
love how they hang. They'll be a really nice pair of trousers to wear to the office. But I love
styling these casually like with a white t-shirt, with my Converse, maybe a blazer or swap for a
bomber jacket and my Sambas. And I feel like this tone of beige goes with so many of my jumpers in
my wardrobe and I love to style like an all tonal look. Now on to my wide leg trousers. So these ones
are from last year. I got them from H&M and I styled these a lot more in the wintertime. So I
love styling them with my heeled up boots with a nice long coat. I just feel like a wider leg
trouser suits my body shape so much better. I also love to wear a pair of faux leather leggings with
high boots, but unfortunately I've ripped my trusty Topshop leggings, which I've absolutely
got rid of. I've had them for about five years. Like I feel like every single video I'm like,
these are the best leggings. They're from Topshop. They're, yeah, R.I.P. They're completely like,
there's no way I can, like they've completely gone. Like I feel like I've worn them that much,
like you sort of get a little bit of cracking. Like they were literally my go-to pair of like
faux leather leggings for the autumn winter season. So I'm very sad that they are literally gone now,
but I need to invest in another pair of them. So I think a pair of like wider leg trousers or a
straight fit and a pair of leather leggings are a must for the autumn winter season.
Then next is the denim midi skirt. So this has definitely been a big trend for the last year or
so now. I feel like I've only just tapped into it because I feel like I'm more, like I don't feel as
confident wearing skirts. I'm very much a jeans and trouser girl. Like I love my jeans and my
trousers. It's what I feel most comfortable in, but it's been nice to style this denim skirt
because of the long length of it. It looks super cool styled with trainers, like with my boots and
my blazers. I've even styled it as well for evenings out, like with a nice little corset
top and a blazer and some heels. So yeah, I feel like this denim skirt has definitely given me a
bit more confidence in styling skirts again. And it's a really nice alternative from just wearing
like jeans and trousers all the time. And this one is from Naked and I wear a size 36.
The next is a black satin skirt. I love styling this all year round. I've been styling it loads
in the summertime, like with a vest top and a shirt open. I also love styling it in the autumn
season as a transitional look. I can pair with a jumper. I could also just layer as well with a
blazer, with my trainers. I think a satin skirt looks really dressy. I've also styled it recently
as well with a little waistcoat and a blazer on the top. And because I don't really have a
date night wardrobe, I always reach for this whenever I need to go out and I want to get
dressed up. The next is a classic white cotton shirt. So I think this is definitely a must for
all year round. I tend to wear my linen shirt a lot more in the spring, summertime. So I like how
sort of like relaxed and soft it feels. But in the autumn time, I do like to have more of a structure.
This looks really nice underneath my blazers, underneath trench coats. I just think you can't
go wrong with a classic white shirt, but it also looks really great as well as a layering piece
underneath your jumpers. It just adds a little something to your outfit. And I think if you do
like work in an office or whatnot, then I highly recommend investing in a good quality white shirt.
Now onto my favorite part, which is my knitwear. So last season I invested in good quality
mohair jumpers. I normally can't wear like mohair or any wool on my skin. I'm normally like really
sensitive. But like with this jumper, I wore it so much last year. I put on my skin, like got used
to it. It was a little bit itchy at first, but then I sort of pushed through and now I'm fine.
Like I've just started with the best underneath, just to sort of have like a layer. But I love
wearing this jumper so much that I got it in the cream version as well. So I feel like I wore these
the most last year. But I think the grey looks super nice with denim, with trainers. And this
looks super nice as well, so like white trousers with jeans. I think a cream jumper is just a must
have to have in your wardrobe. So both of these are from H&M. They have actually brought this one back
so I'll link it for you. I do also have this jumper in black as well. You'll notice like in
my videos that once I find something in a color that fits me perfect and I love so much, I get it
in all colors. That's what I did with this jumper. I also do it with many of my trousers as well,
as you've seen from the naked ones. Then next is a striped jumper. So if you follow me over
on my Instagram, you would have seen this so much already. It's new in my wardrobe from
Another Stories and I just love the quality of it. It's a really nice jumper for autumn as well
because I find that it's not too heavy. So it's definitely more in between like a sweatshirt and
a lighter knit. I do have a more heavier striped jumper from Stories, which is more of like a cable
knit, which I wear a lot more in the winter season. But I love this jumper so much that I had
to get it in this colorway as well. I had one from Zara, which was the high neck one of this style,
but I just felt like the quality wasn't great. After a couple of washes, it was all misshaped
and yeah, I wanted to replace that. So I thought I would get this one. I just feel like with my
wardrobe, I have like slowly like upgraded things. I feel like when I capture a wardrobe,
don't feel pressured to spend like 75 pounds on a jumper. Like don't feel pressured by that by
watching this video. I feel like I always started with like pieces from like H&M and you can get
really good pieces from H&M as long as it's sort of like the premium range. I just find that some
pieces are a little bit hit and miss when it comes to washing them, but I've slowly upgraded these
pieces as I've gone along. Like I said, my black t-shirt from ARCA. I had an old one from Zara,
which I wore all the time. Got a little bit tatty, a little bit bobbly. So I thought, right,
I'm going to invest in a new one. So I feel like with capsule wardrobe, don't feel pressured to
spend loads of loads of money. Obviously I recommend investing in like a good quality,
basic t-shirts. Spend that bit more on them because you will buy them like how many times.
I used to always buy the H&M white t-shirts. I was honestly buying one every single season. I
thought if I add that all up, like this t-shirt was 35 pound, but I've had this now for about
three years. So it definitely lasts. Yeah, t-shirts I would definitely recommend spending
that bit more money on, but when it comes to jumpers and whatnot, then H&M, Zara, Mango do
amazing like stripe jumpers. They're such a big trend right now. So don't feel pressured to splurge
and buy these ones. But of course, everything I showed you in this video, I will link down below
for you in the description box. Then next is a beige jumper. And of course this one has stripes
on. So I've gone for the stripe one because I feel like it adds a bit more interest to my outfit.
I do have a couple of like simple all beige jumpers I like to sell in the autumn winter time.
I think mainly my winter ones like have the big chunky roll next time, which are all beige.
Those ones are cashmere and I wear them underneath my coats, but I really like how the stripes adds
a bit more interest to the outfit. I saw this recently as well with some white trousers and
some ballet flats. And I think that a beige jumper like this, you can dress up for work. You can wear
casually with some jeans, some trainers. I just honestly think you can't go wrong with a beige
jumper. Then next we have some cardigans. So I feel like cardigans have been a very big trend
since the spring season, but I just love how like these classic old money style pieces are a trend
right now, but also they won't date either. So I really liked this whole old money aesthetic and
getting people to buy those classic pieces, but less is more. And when people are invested in
these pieces, they're going to last them their lifetime. So both of these are from Marks and
Spencers. I have the black one and also the cream. I love to sell these all buttoned up. You can sell
them open. I got both of these in a size small. They're actually better quality than the H&M ones.
I missed out on both the cream and the black version of the H&M one. So I was super glad that
I got these, but I think they have unfortunately sold out now. So I will link some alternatives
for you. Then next we have a black waistcoat, another trend which has been big for the spring
summer season. And they look really nice styled underneath blazers. So I recently went to a press
sale at Marks and Spencers and they had a black waistcoat style with some matching black oiled
trousers, a t-shirt underneath the waistcoat and a black blazer. And it honestly looked like so
chic, so put together and perfect for the autumn season. So I love selling these with my satin
skirts as well underneath my blazers. They're definitely part of my evening wardrobe too. So I
definitely think you should keep your waistcoats for the autumn season as you can create some
really lovely transitional outfits with them. Now onto another favorite of mine and it's blazers. So
you guys know I am such a blazer girl. I do have a lot of blazers. I feel like blazers,
jackets are my weakness during the autumn season. Like I feel like I've ordered so much already
and I don't need them. I'm just like, oh my God, like I just love autumn winter jackets. They're
incredible. So the first blazer is from H&M. This is quite old now. So I'll link some alternatives
for you. It's a wool blend black oversized blazer. And I feel like the quality of this
is amazing. I always look for like a wool blend style in my blazers because I feel like they look
a lot more premium and just hang super nice as well. And then I have these two ones from Naked.
So another brand which I love to get my blazers from. These two colors are just perfect for the
autumn season. So this is more of like a darker, I feel like it's an in between, like it's not
khaki but it's more of a darker beige tone. And this is more of like a lighter tan. So I wear
both of these in a size 36. I've styled this one transitionally with a black dress with my
sandals underneath. I think the tone of it works really well for autumn. And then this one is more
of like a lighter tan. I've also styled this recently with like a white t-shirt with my white
jeans and my M&S like beige and black ballet flats. I just loved how this outfit looked together.
And both of these would also be perfect for the office too and go really well with denim.
Then if you're looking to invest in a beige blazer this year, then I couldn't recommend
this Another Stories wool blazer enough. I've had this for so long now. I think it's got to be about
three or four years. Like it's literally one of my favorite pieces in my wardrobe that I wear
all the time in the autumn, winter season. So I wear it in a size 36. I found it very true to size.
I just love how thick it is. It's a really great blazer to wear as like an outerwear piece or when
it does get a little bit colder. I'll style it a lot with a t-shirt underneath or with a really
fine knit in my jeans or wide leg trousers, leather trousers. It's just a really great blazer
for when it does go cooler and I honestly couldn't recommend it enough. Now on to my trench coat. So
the first one I'm going to share with you is this one from Arket. You've seen it lots of times before.
I didn't realize how much I needed a short trench coat in my wardrobe till I got this one. I've
honestly worn it so much. It's been one of my best investments, best purchases and I feel like
they're back in stock now. They always sell out so quick as soon as September hits but they are
available on Arket but also H&M as well because they also stock Arket. And then another trench
coat which I'm going to share with you is this one from Naked. So I couldn't not include this
in this video because I've been styling it so much lately. I've literally been reaching for it all the
time and because it's a linen but it's like a heavyweight linen, but the style transitionally
looks super cool. I wore it in Amsterdam. I do have another long trench coat which I wear a lot
from Topshop but it's honestly so old now I can never link it on my videos. I've not included it
in this video but I think it's definitely good to get yourself a good trench coat for this autumn
season. It's my most worn jacket and I definitely recommend getting a short version too. Then I have
these two black jackets which have been more of a trend over the last year or so but I definitely
think they are sticking around and I can incorporate it into my capsule wardrobe. It's a really nice
change from wearing my blazers. The first piece is a black bomber jacket. You would have seen this
on my TikTok. I really wanted the Zara ones from last season but I found the shoulders were just
like too pointy. It was too plopped. It just didn't sit right on me and I found the quality wasn't
that great for the price tag. So this is actually new in my wardrobe. It's from River Island and the
quality is amazing. It's also a lot cheaper than the Zara ones. I couldn't recommend this one enough.
They also do it in beige as well and I wear this in a size 8. And then the other jacket is this
black tweed one from Marks and Spencers. Again I wore this in Amsterdam and I think that a black
tweed jacket is so classic, so timeless, definitely gives that old money aesthetic. It's a jacket I can
dress up, I can dress down and also wear for evenings too. Then next we have the shearling
jacket. So I cannot wait to wear this jacket. I'm honestly waiting for the day that I can style it.
So this is the one from Mango which everyone went wild for last year. I really really hope they bring
it back for you guys because yeah I don't know how I managed to get this jacket. I literally got it on
a whim. I put my email in, I had no response. Then randomly just checked one day and they had it in
stock and I was honestly so happy. I did size up in this and get a size medium. I also spotted a
gorgeous brain one as well on Marks and Spencers. So yeah these are definitely big for the autumn
season. They come back every single time and again I cannot wait to wear it. Another jacket I would
recommend as well for the autumn season is a leather jacket. I do have one but it's very oversized
on me and I feel like it doesn't suit my body shape so I've not included it in this video. So
I'm going to look at getting a new leather jacket. I feel like I need one that's a little bit more
cropped. This one was definitely more of an oversized fit but I think a leather jacket is
another must-have to have alongside your trench coat. Then finally we have the classic camel
wool coat. So this one is from Naked Fashion. I got this last season but I will link some
alternatives for you and I think you honestly can't go wrong with a classic camel coat. You
can dress it up, you can wear it to work. It's just a really great versatile coat and it literally
goes with all these tones on this rail. I think you cannot go wrong with it. I really love the
tone of it. It's not like too tan. I find that jackets that are like too tan just don't suit my
skin tone and yeah this is super flattering. I love how oversized it is. I always opt for like
a lightweight wool coat in the autumn. So as you can see this one doesn't have a lining. I do have
some a lot thicker wool coats which do have a lining which are more for the winter season. I
love to style this in the autumn season. It's definitely one of my favorite pieces in my
wardrobe. So those are all my most worn capsule wardrobe clothing pieces for the autumn season.
I'm going to film a separate video just focusing on my shoes, accessories and my bags. I did that
last time for the spring season. I found it a lot more like digestible. You'll see some of the shoes
that I'm styling with these pieces like for the cutaways and whatnot but I really wanted to
hone in my footwear like talk about my favorite boots like how I'm styling them and the fit of
them because I feel like with shoes as well it just takes a bit more time to explain them thoroughly
so I thought I'd do a dedicated video for that. So make sure you do keep a look at it for that
video. It'll probably be coming soon to my channel in the next couple of weeks but yeah I hope you
guys have enjoyed watching this video today and you found it helpful. If you have then please don't
forget to like this video and like I said if you are new watching today then please don't forget to
subscribe as well. So yeah as always thanks so much for watching and I'll see you on my next video.
