Los Angeles Dodgers vs Washington Nationals
In Freeman fashion, Freddie hustles a base hit into a double making him the leader in Dodgers franchise history in doubles for a single season.
I do not own this.
And through Freddy Freeman three
for three he's hustling for
second he's got it.
Freddy Freeman legs out a record
breaking double get that
baseball because it's the fifty
third two bagger for Freddy
Freeman the most ever in a
single season by a Dodger.
I mean the crazy thing is is the
second baseman lays out for this
right and it just tells you
that Freddy from the get go is
hustling.
He's got double written on the
second baseman dives for that
ball.
The right fielder comes over and
fields it.
But he's like no way man.
I'm getting out a second.
I'm shaking some hips brother.
Congratulations you are now
officially the leader in doubles
in a single season in the
Dodgers franchise.
So what is just that that number
and that's not what does that
mean to you personally.
I don't know yet.
You know it's kind of just kind
of happened.
I really soaked it all in.
But this franchise has been
around for a very long time.
A lot of winning seasons a lot
of great players have come
through here.
So just to be able to be
mentioned with some of these
guys that kind of climbing the
leaderboard on us it's pretty
cool.
You know it's been a wonderful
two years so far.
So hopefully I can just keep
rebreaking it for the next
couple of weeks.
We see I mean your hard work day
in and day out your commitment
your routine that you do.
But I mean to see a player like
you legging out doubles all the
time just I guess at what point
in your career did you kind of
learn that side of the game and
did you want to play like that.
You know you just kind of go in
like a hitter's meetings we go
over the arms of the
outfielders stuff like that.
And then obviously when I hit
that one I saw him not coming
in I saw him going straight to
the side.
So that was my initial thought.
I was like you know I'm going to
push the envelope here.
So if you had charged that I
probably would have stayed.
But I kind of read that he went
to the side and said then.
So I guess why is you know we're
getting getting up there with
Bill you know in the in the
years you know.
So we're trying to learn things
but you know it's just kind of
knowing what you're capable of
not trying to do too much.
And obviously I read something
and you know I was able to read
it right.
Your approach like when you have
this many doubles.
Sorry we got it back.
Will you use this as good of an
indicator just kind of like the
kind of year you're having and
how you're swinging the bat.
Yeah I mean I've always wanted
to hit 300.
So if I hit 300 and play the
games like I normally do you
know I think overall the numbers
will be there at the end of the
year.
But obviously last year I set my
career high in doubles and
redid it this year.
So I don't know.
It's just been you know I've
been swinging that really well
pretty much all season long
consistently been pretty good.
So that's what I'm more happy
about is that when I do something
a little bit I end it real fast
and get back on the right things
of the ship.
So that's what I'm more proud
about because the last 10 10
days I haven't been swinging the
bat very well.
And you know obviously felt a
little better yesterday and maybe
it just needed a late night and
rain delays to get me going
again.
But just more of the fact that
I've been able to be
consistently pretty good all
season long 60 doubles this
season since World War Two.
What would that sort of mean to
you.
I guess that would be pretty
cool when things are talking
about that long.
But you know I just the last
couple of games it's been nice
to win.
But you know I don't like
talking about myself.
So you guys got like four
questions in about me.
So let's just start winning more
games win the division two.
Thank you.
